One Hanes Place ships for two bucks
Right now at One Hanes Place they’re running a bunch of bra specials—too many to list, really—plus they have their regular underwear and such, as well as an entire clearance section. If you want to shop, ship your entire order for just $1.99 with coupon code 607913.
The deals are good if you can grab ’em (often the good stuff sells out quickly).
Nip/Tuck prices nipped and tucked
Let’s play a game! Let’s see how quickly Amazon will change these prices after I post this. Want to? Okay!
Hee.
Okay, if you’re a fan of the TV show Nip/Tuck, or if you want to become one, now would be a good time to stock up on DVDs. Over at Amazon, they have the first three seasons on sale for $23.99 each.
Season 1
Season 2
Season 3
This is a graphic show intended for adults. If by some chance you don’t know what it is, don’t go buying it on a whim, is all I’m saying. (I’ve actually never seen it; I’m just passing on the deal.) Also please don’t complain if you think the show is inappropriate. If it’s not your thing, don’t order it. Another deal will be along soon enough.
A-thriftin’ we shall go
Phyllis sent this one along, and I’ve gotta say: If Phyllis was standing here right now I’d give her a great big kiss. Yes. Because she’s so pretty. And I can’t believe I didn’t know about this site.
Love thrift stores, but having trouble finding them (or knowing if they’re any good)? Check out The Thrift Shopper! I checked my local area, which is—as it turns out—chock-full of thrift stores. And of course this is great information for me, because I just moved here. But then I checked my old zip code, too, just for kicks; and darned if it didn’t find a bunch of stores near my old house that I never knew about.
Good stuff. Thanks, Phyllis!
Because it’s the wrong reason to have a hot lap
Hey, I think I may have mentioned that during the last big Mac deal I finally got myself a new laptop. (I know, I know; outrageous expense! Spending the dollars, it pains me! But it’s a business write-off and a much-needed purchase, so I am trying to deal with the anguish as best I can. Like by whispering sweet nothings to my MacBook.)
Guess what I’ve discovered? It gets hot. This is not so much a problem when I’m sitting at my desk, but when I’m lounging on the couch with it? Kind of uncomfortable. So I’ve been cruising around looking for a good laptop cooler.
I’m grooving on this Antec Notebook Cooler at Buy.com, because it’s got USB-powered fans (cool!) and free shipping and a rebate (I know, generally I don’t like rebates, but Buy is pretty good about them), making the grand total just $9.99. And it’s got great reviews.
That seems like a small price to pay for a cooler lap and decreased chances of frying your computer.
Different than Ronco products, but still good
Whenever I hear or see the site name “Smartbargains” I am reminded of those old Ronco commercials on television. I don’t know why. It just sounds like the sort of place that should sell the Roncomatic and Chef Popiel’s pop-o-matic storage containers and maybe Ginsu knives. (Watch how it saws through this soda can! Yet it slices this tomato with ease!)
Okay, I never said I wasn’t weird.
Anyway, they don’t sell that sort of stuff at Smartbargains (I don’t think), but they do sell all kinds of other stuff. And right now you can take 10% off your Smartbargains order through that there link, if you’re so inclined. Offer is good through October 1st, 2007.
The Children’s Place (again)
Someone emailed me recently looking for a code for The Children’s Place and I came up empty. But thanks to Murphy’s Law, now that you’ve already done your shopping, they’ve put out another code. Wasn’t that nice of them? Ha.
Anyway, take $10 off your $30+ purchase with coupon code NMS97. Shipping is just $5 per order, or if you order $75+ you can get free shipping with coupon code FSFAMILY (can be stacked with the other coupon).
I’m off to have a look….
Ship it free from American Girl
Every year around Christmas I start getting desperate emails from moms of girls, asking if I’ve seen a code for free shipping at American Girl. And every year I have to mail back and say that there is generally free shipping a couple of times a year, but never right around Christmas. So pay attention: If Santa will be shopping at American Girl this year, he’d best get off his duff and do it now.
Through October 22nd, 2007, receive free shipping at American Girl with coupon code AF72167. (Although I do find those little dolly teeth quite creepy, I am a huge fan of the American Girl Library books. Just sayin’.)
Overstock weekender

(Sorry for the delay in getting this posted. We were at our first soccer game of the season; I believe the final score was about 17 to 2. Good times!)
Okay, so, if you’re doing the Overstock thing this weekend, you can take $12 off your $100+ order through that there link (expires Monday, September 17th, 2007). Making a good price even better, particularly if you can get your order as close to $100 as possible. Not that I’ve ever worked to do that, myself. Nope. Never.
Before I go eat my weight in grits
Gooooooooood morning! It’s Friday, and although that always means it’s time for the Amazon Friday Sale, today it also means it’s time for me to go have some grits and bacon. I have company, and everyone knows that when you have company it’s only polite to gorge yourself on fat and salt. I’m certain I read that in a book somewhere.
If you don’t have company and therefore must console yourself with some bargain hunting, well, I’m on it for y’all.
I own this Garmin GPS unit, and I swear before God and everyone that it saved my sanity when we moved. Heck, it’s still saving my sanity. I don’t know how I functioned before. Oh wait, yes I do—I got lost a lot. (That’s an awesome price, by the way.)
This is one of the top-rate digital photo frames, and it rarely goes on sale. Just sayin’. (If that’s too rich for your blood, you might want to consider this keychain frame
, though read the decidedly mixed reviews before buying.)
I have no idea if this is a good price, but I just have to say that this thing scares the bejeezus out of me. (Simon says: Sit and spin! No, just spin! Wait, Simon didn’t say!)
This is a cute little patio set and it ships for free (which is the real savings, because it probably weighs quite a bit).
There’s a lot I don’t understand about hunting. Like, how apparently it is customary for big burly men to go into the woods with their guns and then wear a skirt in a tree stand. To each his own, I guess.
I want a pair of these oven mitts, but I fear that I would always feel the need to do the robot or something while wearing them.
If you’re trying to get away from plastic storage containers (you know, because they’re going to kill us), you might be interested in this glass storage set. Or maybe this round set
instead, which is a greater percentage off.
If you’re clumsy like me, you’ll be pleased to see “unbreakable” and “french press“ in the same sentence. Just sayin’.
This ice cream maker gets great reviews. The fact that it’s 63% off doesn’t hurt, either.
Have a great weekend, everyone. I’ll eat some grits for you.
If you must go high-end. . .
… at least go high-end on sale.
Right now Nordstrom is having their Fall Clearance, with prices up to 70% off. Of course, that’s still 70% higher than what you’ll find at Target, but every now and then you’ve got to treat yourself, right?
Too rich for my blood, but enjoy if you’re looking to splurge.
