Mama always said, wear nice undies

You never know when you’re going to be hit by a bus and people are going to see those saggy, baggy, pitiful stretched-elastic panties you’ve been meaning to throw out. Think about it.

Right now at Jockey you can take 25% off your order with coupon code SUMMER7. The code is valid through September 30th, 2007, so you have plenty of time to figure out what to buy.

Just please, throw those old ones away already.

Back to school cool

Hey hey hey kids, it’s time for another $10 sale over at Threadless! Looks like all of their regular, in-stock Ts are marked down to $10 through Monday, September 3rd. (Hoodies and such are more, of course.)

We pink puffy heart Threadless, ’round here. I am just waiting for them to reprint this one so I can get it for the kids. What?

I’ve always wanted a palm tree

Sometimes I wonder if Amazon employs people whose job it is purely to monitor their sales trends and then put stuff on clearance when it’s not selling well. Because honestly I can see no other explanation for things like this beauty right here.

Regardless, they’ve already started their big Labor Day Kitchen and Home Sale over there, and there’s actually some good stuff on sale. And also, um, cat toilets. So you know, something for everyone.

More credit card rewards

The very lovely Allison emailed to point my attention to this American Express offer (I am linking to the post she sent rather than directly to the offer, because that looks like an affiliate link and if you decide to do the deal, I’d like for the original poster to get a few pennies), wherein signing up for a card gets you a free round-trip plane ticket with your first purchase, or $250 cash.

Now you know that I’ve posted credit card bonus deals before, along with caveats about how you shouldn’t go opening new credit cards all willy nilly. You need to understand about credit scores and how your choices affect them before you decide to partake of a deal like this. But if you either need a credit card or your score is high/stable enough to withstand another open line of credit, this could be a great deal. (Especially with the cost of plane tickets being what it is right now. Ouch.)

It looks like the deal is good through August 31st, 2007. So you’ve got until Friday to decide if you want in. Thanks, Allison!

If you’re thinking about a new Mac

Are you an educator, student, or do you have a student in your family? If so, you always get a discount on your purchase of a Macintosh computer. You’ll never see any ginormous discounts on Macs, but the educational discount is a nice little perk (and they’ll let you take it if you have any kids in the house or a kid in college, so that’s nice).

Plus, now through September 16th, 2007, they’re having a back to school special for college students—buy a Mac and get a qualifying iPod for free. (This one doesn’t include younger students; you must be an educator or a college student.) Don’t want an iPod? No problem, get cash back instead.

(Pssst! Kailani emailed me to point out that you can also get a free printer with this deal. Thanks, Kailani!)

This post brought to you by the letter M (Macintosh), the number 10 (what time it is right now) and the fact that both of my (non-Mac) computers are dying. Alas.

Get Disneyfied

Today—August 26th, 2007—only, you can take an additional 15% off the already steeply-reduced prices in the Disney Shopping Outlet by using coupon code OUTLET15. Just in case you’ve got a hankering for a little Mickey Mouse. Or any other of the billion characters they have over there.

75 chances to save big

After a lackluster few weeks, today’s On the Counter offerings at Lands’ End include 75 different deeply discounted items. You could wait for further price reductions, but then you run the risk of stuff selling out. Have a look.

Another week down

Ahhhhhhh. It’s my favorite time of year; the kids are settling into their school routine, but they haven’t yet tired of it. Plus, Fall is coming! I know this because it’s been much cooler the last few days. Why, yesterday it only hit 98! Ahem.

Anyway, it’s Friday, and you know what that means. Yes, it’s time to delve into the Amazon Friday Sale to see what goodies we might discover.

This is the GPS unit we own and I love it with a mad, passionate fervor that results in squeezing it and calling it George. Oh, okay… that’s not exactly true. We don’t call it George. It has a woman’s voice with a British accent. So we call her Audrey.

Always using batteries for your cameras, wireless mice, and the like? You need at least one great battery recharger, if not two.

Because I am a 10-year-old boy at heart, what I love most about this Doodle Monster is not that you can write on it or even the price, but that he appears to be licking his own intestines. Ewwww.

I showed this DeWalt set to my husband and he tried to make a comment, but it was very difficult to understand him through all of the drooling.

I’m thinking of buying a few of these motion-sensing light sockets, but I’m still trying to decide where to put them so as to torture my family most.

They can call this a “toning system” all they want, but I know a Thighmaster when I see one.

This is one serious tent. I doubt it would even fit inside my car, given that I’m pretty sure it’s three times as large as my car.

Do you like green eggs and hammocks? (I hope so, because nothing rhymes with hammocks so that’s pretty much all I’ve got on that.)

I know we’ve had a lot of silverware deals lately, but have you ever looked at your flatware and said to yourself, “Self, what these need is more game birds?”

Oooh, our favorite quesadilla maker is back in the Friday Sale. Have you gotten one yet? Why not??

Did you know that Corelle makes stoneware? This set qualifies for the $20 off on two sets promo I posted a few days back, too, so you could get yourself service for 8 for just $60 shipped.

My kids will eat these pita chips like they’re candy. They’re really that good. (And I pay a lot more than that for them, usually.)

Have a great weekend, everyone!
