Oneida silverware 89% off
I finally had a chance to look through the One Day Sale and just had to point this out: Get a service for twelve of the Oneida Butler Toronto flatware for just $39.99 today (with free shipping). That’s 89% off!
This is a very plain/simple set, but with good heft and the legendary Oneida quality. I love my Oneida and, sadly, paid a lot more for it than this.
How do you know if it’s good silverware? You should be able to scoop really hard ice cream without the spoon bending. This set will pass the test. Though I can always come over and test it for you, if you need me to. When there’s ice cream involved I’m always ready to help.
Hmmm, an excuse to shop more?

I don’t think I’ve mentioned this here, yet, so here you go: Through March 31st, every purchase you make at Overstock automatically gets you entered in their drawing for a Nintendo wii. Now, you know I’m not advocating buying something just for the sweepstakes entry, but if you were on the fence about something, maybe this is useful information for you. Just sayin’.
Great deal for Prevacid users
Do you take Prevacid? Even if you have good insurance, chances are that you’re paying a co-pay every time you fill your prescription. But if you go sign up for their “Beyond the Burn” program you’ll receive a card which entitles you to up to $25 off each time you refill. If your co-pay is $25 or less, it’ll be free. If you’re paying more than $25 for each refill, well, at least you’ll be getting $25 off.
It’s not a rebate, either, but instant savings. (Methinks the Prevacid folks figured out that their precious pills might be too expensive for some people.)
They’re trying to make it up to us
Perhaps to soothe our ruffled feathers over the slightly thwarted Friday Sale last week, Amazon is having a One Day Sale in Kitchen and Home.
I don’t have a ton of time to go through it, right now, because I’m on my way out, but I did notice that they have one of my very favorite things right on the front page: the Hoover FloorMate, at 60% off with free shipping. I don’t use mine as much as I ought to, but it does a heck of a job and I don’t end up with that crick in my back I get from mopping. (And pssst, you don’t have to use the expensive cleaning solution they sell for it, either. I mostly fill it with hot water and white vinegar and it works great.)
Because every mom is a hot mom
I’m not a big fan of reality television, so I’ll admit to being mildly horrified that there’s a show called Hottest Mom in America in the offing. However, I think these magnets they’re giving away would make a hilarious Mother’s Day gag gift for a favorite mom in your life.
(They’d make an even better gag gift for Father’s Day, but that’s a different conversation entirely.)
It’s a Woot-Off! Er, a Box-a-Thon!
Those of you who have enjoyed the Woot-Offs in the past at Woot.com might want to check out Midnightbox today; they’re having a Box-a-Thon, which looks an awful lot like a Woot-Off.
For your little fireman
How much do I love old-fashioned pedal cars? So so much. They’re usually insanely expensive, though. This little fire truck is adorable and currently marked 53% off with free shipping.
(Do note that it comes in the original box, so if you’re buying one for your own kid, maybe have it mailed to the grandparents or the neighbor.)
Don’t forget to check the Counter
One more thing before I go outside and start working on the slab of ice that used to be my driveway—are you checking the Lands’ End On The Counter deals each week?
If you’ve never been, check it out. New items are posted every Saturday (in limited quantities and at deep discounts), and then whatever doesn’t sell out gets price-dropped every couple of days thereafter until everything is gone. So, you can wait and hope to get a better deal, but you’re risking items being gone.
(It’s like gambling! But with shopping!)
I’ve been wanting a bedspread for my enormous king bed (which is so tall that no normal comforter covers the entire mattress), and just picked one up—in that unbeatable all-cotton Lands’ End quality—for under $27 shipped. I pink puffy heart Lands’ End.
I know, it’s a shock
Hey, there’s a big sale going on at Kohls today! How unusual!
(Yes, yes, I know. We’ve already had the “what’s up with the stores where everything is always on sale?” conversation. Moving on.)
Today (St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th) there’s a whole bunch of specials that are only available until 4:00 p.m. Shipping is just $.99/item, and of course there’s plenty in the clearance section, too.
Need a coupon?
NEW2192 — 10% off (expires March 18th, 2007)
NEW2192 — 10% off (expires March 24th, 2007)
MARPICK15 — 15% off with your Kohls card (expires April 7, 2007)
MENSSPRING — free shipping on men’s clothing (expires March 25th, 2007)
My local Kohls is always completely mobbed, so I enjoy browsing from home in the comfort of my pajamas. Not that I’m still in my pajamas at nearly 10 on a Saturday morning, or anything. Stop looking at me.
Thanks, Ted!
Do you have a Ted’s Montana Grill near you? They’re celebrating 5 years by giving you three $10 gift certificates for their restaurants.
That is way better than wood (the traditional 5th anniversary gift).
