Have Paypal, will save (on tech/electronics)

If you’ve got something techie on your shopping list—think computers, TVs, video games—and you have a Paypal account, get on over to Rakuten (formerly Buy.com) and have a look. In addition to their Cyber Monday specials, they’re offering an additional $30 off your $100+ qualifying purchase when you pay via Paypal and use code PAYPAL30.

Among the items where you can apply the savings are a couple of Nintendo 2DS consoles. No, it’s not the latest/greatest/biggest/bestest, but if you have a kid who’d be satisfied with an older model, at $70 after the coupon, that’s a hard deal to beat.

They’ve also got computers, cameras, hard drives, tablets, headphones… all kinds of stuff. Already on sale and then another $30 off makes things a lot more affordable.

Happy Cyber Monday!

I’ll confess, I was a little worried that the deals might pale in comparison to Friday, today, but it seems my fears were unfounded.

Of course there will be great bargains all day long (and a giveaway, because why not?) but here’s a few places to get started (and watch all day):

The Lightning Deals at Amazon are still flying fast and furious, and while I’m seeing a few repeats, I’ll also seeing some new stuff. Definitely worth watching.

Once again, 6pm.com is doing 24 hours of $24 deals, plus today only you can use coupon code 6PMCYBMON113020142053 for an additional 20% off! (I had a couple of items in my cart from Friday I’d been waffling on. That code pushed me off the fence.)

Another Woot-Off? Awwww, yeah! Rotating deals all day today at Woot, Home.Woot, Tools.Woot, and even Wine.Woot and Sellout.Woot are getting in on the fun.

Need a little more coffee to get moving? Snag a great deal over at Starbucks, today—they’ll take $25 off your $70+ order, automatically, and give you free shipping, too.

Stay tuned; we’re going to have fun today.

For your budding archer

I don’t really understand the whole “Nerf for girls” thing—because I thought Nerf was for everyone—but I guess with the Hunger Games popularity and everything, the Rebelle line of bows from Nerf have become really popular.

Right now this Nerf Rebelle Guardian Crossbow Blaster is down to just $13.09 at Amazon (its lowest price this year). While we’ll probably see a bunch of toy deals in the second week of December (as is typical for Amazon), if you have this item on a wish list, you might want to go ahead and grab it.

Black Friday magazine deals

Magazines always fit, and you don’t even have to ask the recipient what size they wear. Perfect!

There’s tons of Black Friday Blowout Deals today at DiscountMags, meaning you can finish up your shopping even if you have a few impossible-to-buy-for folks on your list.

Every Day with Rachael Ray is under $4, as is Better Homes & Gardens. Sometimes I use these deals to grab a couple of subscriptions just so what we have magazines for craft projects; it ends up being cheaper than a one-off trip to grab a handful of issues.

Black Friday at Toys ‘R’ Us

I almost completely forgot about Toys ‘R’ Us, mostly because my kids are too big for toys anymore. But the deals and doorbusters over there include things like $50 off all iPod Touches, so there’s something for every age, really.

I see they have the Skylanders Swap Force Wii U Bundle, which I think a few of you asked about, too, for $199 ($100 off). That one is available online but not for shipping; you’d have to order it and then pick up at your local store.

Shipping is free (when available) on your $50+ order, shipping to your local store is always free, and many items ship for free at any price point if you have Shoprunner.

Okay, I just made myself laugh… I started checking out the Clearance labeled as being for “big kids” and they have… Tervis tumblers. For cheap. Because of course they do. (Hey, if you want Tervis….)

Black Friday clothing deals for the teens

If you’re shopping for teens, chances are these deals are for you.

Over at Aeropostale, everything is 60% off, plus you can use coupon code EXTRA30 for an additional 30% off the clearance. Everyone gets free shipping on $50+, and if you spend $100+, you get a free fleece blanket with your order.

At American Eagle, you can use coupon code GOBBLEUP for 40% off and free shipping on any order.

And finally, Forever 21 is taking and extra 30% off sale prices, automatically, and offering free shipping, today only.

Of course, if you’re shopping at any of these places for yourself, more power to you. I don’t judge. (Unless you buy the jeans that are all torn up when they’re brand new. We call those “pre-chewed” and then I totally judge.)

Xbox One Deal? Check!

If you’ve got an Xbox One on your shopping list (several of you have mentioned this being the big ask from the kids this year), make sure you hit up the Microsoft Store for their Black Friday deals. You can grab a fantastic value bundle from them—get a refurbished XBox One, Kinect, a month of Xbox Live Gold, and two game downloads, plus you get to choose a free game once you’ve added it to your cart, for just $330.

Yes, this is a refurbished unit rather than a new one, but with all of the extras and the money you save, I think it makes a lot more sense than a new unit (which will typically run you about $400 before you’ve even picked up the Kinect, never mind getting any games).

I’m a mean mommy who isn’t buying any video games or consoles this year, but you enjoy.

Heads up, RPG fans

I’ll preface this by saying that I do not understand most of what intrigues my teenage son, these days, but I can report on what he digs. Right now he’s heavily into Dungeons & Dragons and Magic, and Pathfinder falls somewhere on that same spectrum of role-playing games that he likes.

That said, right now at Amazon you can use coupon code HOLIDAY30 to take an additional 30% off any one book. For reasons which are unclear to me (but hey, I’m not complaining), this Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Skull & Shackles Base Set is qualifying for the book discount even though it’s a game.

It’s already marked down to $35.99—its lowest price to date—and then with anotehr 30% off, it’s just $26. That is crazy cheap for a really nice starter set. I still don’t really know what it is, but my son assures me that it’s cool.

Rock-bottom Sharpie deal

Love Sharpies? Run to Amazon—get this 14-pack fine-point assortment (one 12-marker rainbow set and two metallics) for just $3 shipped with Prime! Perfect for the stocking of your favorite artist.

Amazon is limiting purchases to one per order. Nothing to stop you from placing another order, though.

Get your fancy-shmancy Black Friday socks

Okay, this one is only a deal if you’re willing to pay a little more for some really nice socks, but today Happy Socks is taking 40% off everything and giving free shipping on every order, automatically.

This still makes them more than, say, socks from Target or whatever. But if you want one or two awesome stocking-stuffer pairs and you’re willing to splurge a little, these are the socks you want. I got my kids a few pairs last year on a Groupon deal and they’re not only adorable, they’ve held up really well.
