Heads up for mama-related savings
If you have young kids and buy a lot of stuff from Amazon, you might be interested in this offer of theirs: Right now if you buy a qualifying parenting book you’ll receive an exclusive coupon book with purchase, good for up to $100 worth of savings on Amazon on various baby, mom, and home items.
It’s a bit of a gamble, of course. There’s no telling what the coupons will be, and it’s doubtful you’d use all of them (saving the full $100). On the other hand, it looks like the qualifying books start at around $8, and I’d bet good money that there’s some significant diaper/wipes coupons in that coupon book, so you may recoup your purchase pretty quickly if you’re buying those sorts of things. Just a hunch.
Now all I need is an offer where I buy a book about teenagers and then get $100 worth of coupons on food.
Get well, stay well
If you’re a vitamins and supplements kind of person, this is a deal for you. If you’re not a vitamins and supplements kind of person, maybe check it out anyway—I know that I, personally, am capable of all sorts of mental gymnastics when it comes to this stuff. (“I took fish oil today. Yea verily, I am extremely virtuous. There is no need to exercise when I am already luxuriating in all of these Omega-3s!”) (… what?)
Today at GNC, there’s a slew of “wellness essentials” available on a Buy 2, Get 2 Free deal. And actually, it’s even better than that, because you can mix-n-match, and if you only need a couple of things, it’s also Buy 1, Get 1 Half Off. The sale includes over 400 items, so chances are you’ll have no trouble finding items you want.
To cap it all off, shipping is just $1, today only.
(Also? I am a 12-year-old boy. I’m going through the sale, looking for things to buy other than the Evening Primrose Oil I already have in my cart, and cannot stop laughing at “Horny Goat Weed.” I’m sure that’s… something totally not what I think it is. Yes.)
The Gold Box is your jam
It’s been a while since something in the Amazon Gold Box piqued my interest, but today’s my lucky day, I guess—choose from 20 different MP3 albums for just $1.99 apiece. Buy one, buy a few, buy ’em all; at less than $2 a pop, you can go nuts.
It’s… uhhh… a pretty eclectic mix of titles. But maybe you like listening to Bruno Mars after you finish listening to John Denver. I don’t judge.
More storage, less money
Been looking for some additional data backup? How does a 3TB Toshiba external hard drive for just $110 sound? That’s the lowest price it’s ever been on Amazon, and if you ask my husband to tell you all about the time he spent $400 on 20 MG of storage (or something, I don’t know, I don’t listen when he starts going on and on about his early computing purchases) I’m sure he’d be happy to oblige.
Translation: This is a lot of memory for very little money. The end.
Woot makes me laugh (again)
Hey, if you’re a die-hard Wootaholic (yes, that’s totally a real thing), check out today’s Woot offering—it’s Woot-opoly! I can’t stop giggling over the fact that one of the tokens is a Bag Of Crap. (No, really, they call it that. I’m not being offensive. I mean, not intentionally.) Sure, it’s $20, which isn’t cheap, but maybe the humor is worth it to you.
If you want an actual deal over there, today, check out Kids.Woot for an assortment of coordinating beach towel/tote options. Perfect for heading into the warmer weather, and maybe even a great birthday present option (hello, gift closet!) if you’re dealing with the tween/teen set.
All-natural apples on the go
My least favorite part of winter is probably the sad-looking fruit at the grocery store. We’re a big fresh-fruit-eating family and once you get through the early apple months it’s just kind of pitiful. (Or you can buy fruit flown in from halfway around the world! Bleah.)
Our solution: applesauce. Lots of applesauce. And these GoGo Squeez packs are my favorite—fun flavors, no artificial anything, and I don’t even have to pack a spoon.
Right now most flavors come out to under $.50/pack when you buy via Subscribe & Save, because there’s an automatic extra 15% off happening as a promotion right now. Plus Amazon just started doing this thing where if you have 5+ S&S orders in a month, they take 15% off all of them, too (instead of the now-standard 5%).
I just ordered some apple-mango (my daughter’s favorite). But I may have to go back in for some apple-strawberry….
Summer dreamin’
How cute are the cowl-necked sleeveless dresses available in today’s Target Daily Deals? So cute. And at just $15 with free shipping, my favorite way to look put together in the summer effortlessly—pull on a dress—is a no-brainer. Of course, if you’re a rebel, you could even wear ’em now, with a sweater or a blazer.
On a cold, dreary day like today, sometimes holding on to the image of a sunny day is… therapeutic. Yes. Let’s call it that.
Wackiness for less
Tell me it’s not just me… those slippers that are animals that pop up while you walk are kind of terrifying, yes? The commercials scare me. But both of my kids (teens, no less) think they’re awesome.
Well, I can tell you that there is no slipper on the planet that’s $35 worth of awesome to me. But with Wacky Walkers (a knock-off of the As Seen On TV brand, I think) just $10 shipped today at Tanga, I could probably get over my phobia and grab a pair or two.
If you’ve never seen these before, prepare to be disturbed. You’re welcome.
Dresstastic!
Have an upcoming event—need a dress for a wedding, for Easter, for something else? Today at 6pm.com they’ve got an Under $50 dress boutique going on, with pages upon pages of cute, affordable dresses. (Just look in the middle of the splash screen for the “Look Divine in Dresses” panel.)
The last time they had a big clothing sale I picked up one of the Suzi Chin for Maggie Boutique dresses just to see if it was as cute in person. It definitely is. And I see those same dresses listed in this sale for just $30. Maybe I need another color….
Skylanders expansion with a shrunken price
I… do not really understand Skylanders. I admit it. When it became the “hot thing” I steered my video-game-loving child in the other direction and may have been known to randomly shout “Hey, is that a Minecraft mod??” to distract him. I have no shame.
Nevertheless, my understanding is that it’s the Greatest! Game! Ever!! and you need various characters to expand your gameplay. Pretty tricky of the game inventors. And each character is normally at least $10, which seems… well, a little much.
Right now Amazon has many of the Skylanders Single Character Packs marked down to just $5.99, like Sprocket here. You can click through to find other reduced characters, like Whirl Wind, Stump Smash, Sonic Boom, Drill Sergeant, and more. If you have to buy ’em, you might as well get ’em for 40% off.
