Snow, snow, blow away
Here in Georgia we get a couple inches of snow every other year or so, and everyone freaks out, and then it melts and life goes on. This doesn’t mean I don’t remember what life is like in more wintery climates, though, and you have my full sympathy if you live somewhere where snow insists on falling all winter long.
If you’re still grappling with the white stuff, check out today’s Woot deal—it’s a Toro electric snowblower. Now, if you have a large area to clear, you’re probably going to prefer a gasoline model, but electricity is cleaner if you can deal with the extension cord and aren’t clearing a whole acre or anything. Woot’s price is $130 plus $5 shipping; a quick peek at it on Amazon reveals their price is $200, and the reviews are largely favorable. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
Then again, you could just move somewhere warmer. That totally worked for me.
Paging Anne of Green Gables fans
Did you know that you can snag a 13-book Anne of Green Gables collection for Kindle for just $1.99? That’s crazy! (It includes 11 Anne books written by Lucy Maud Montgomery, plus Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights just for good measure.) What a wonderful (and inexpensive) way to introduce your kiddo to this timeless series.
I pink puffy heart Anne. I might buy these for me.
Happy Valentine’s Day from Children’s Place!
You know the drill: It’s a holiday, so why not? Children’s Place is offering free shipping on all orders today, plus an extra 20% off when you apply coupon code LINCOLN. Plus everything is on sale, blah blah blah. (Not that it’s not exciting, of course. But they are perhaps vying with Kohls for title of Most Hyped One Day Sales That Are Really Kind Of Most Of The Time.)
Got a kid who grew two inches overnight? There’s a sale for that! (Uh, this one. Obviously.)
Happy Valentine’s Day from 6pm!
What’s better than a day to celebrate love, and waking up to a teenager thrusting a wrapped package of chocolate at you? The Valentine’s Day $14 sale at 6pm.com is almost as good, at least. (What can I say? I’m very fond of the teenager, and it’s really good chocolate.) Thousands of items are marked down to just $14, so today’s the day some smokin’ deals. It all begins right now!
The deals last until they sell out, which I can tell you from experience means the sooner you get in there, the better the chance you’ll land a few steals. Good luck!
More LEGO? More LEGO!
It’s never a bad time for a bucket of LEGO, right? Right!
Get 402 bricks for just $20 if you don’t mind a pink bucket, or get 405 bricks in the traditional blue bucket for $23. These normally go for $30, so barring the elusive Lightning Deal during the pre-holiday frenzy, this is about as cheap as it gets.
I am tempted to grab that pink bucket just to have some of those pink bricks. We have about a gajillion pieces of LEGO and no pink. Silly us.
Get Brave
Have a kiddo who’s been prancing around the house in a curly red wig with a bow-and-arrow ever since seeing the move Brave? Bring Merida’s world to your gaming system now that there’s been a price drop at Amazon—get Brave for the XBox Kinect system for just $15, right now! That’s its lowest price ever. It’s also $15 for the PlayStation version, or $20 for Wii or Nintendo DS.
It’s better than a real bow and arrow in terms of how many times you’ll feel compelled to say, “You’ll shoot your eye out, kid.” Okay, maybe that’s just me. I know my kids just love it when I say that when they’re playing Wii….
Go Soft for Valentine’s Day
The only thing I would like better than a discount at Soft Clothing is if they made adult sizes. (Hint, hint!) Gorgeous, timeless kids’ clothes with flat seams, nothing scratchy, and the softest fabrics—their stuff is great for all kids, but particularly those with sensory sensitivities.
Now through Valentine’s Day, shop Soft and use coupon code softheart13 for 30% off your entire order. Pretty sweet!
Livin’ la vida Loft(a)
If you’ve been waiting for a sale at LOFT, wait no more! Today you can take 40% off just about everything—code TAKE40 will reduce most full-price items, and everything in the Clearance section is automatically an extra 40% off when you put it in your basket. (And they’ve recently added a ton of items to their sale, too.)
Shipping is kind of a buzzkill at a flat $8.95, but if you spend $125+ (sadly, not hard to do there, even with sale prices!) your order will ship for free. I’ve never had any problems getting to the free shipping minimum….
Save more for your sweetie
I have to say, I love how retail establishments glom onto any possible holiday as an excuse to mark down prices. I mean, yay for sales and all, but still. Does your darling want hand towels for Valentine’s Day? Seems unlikely. Just sayin’.
Nevertheless, right now you can save an extra 20% off just about everything already on sale at Bon-Ton when you apply coupon code WAREHSEFB13. (See the site for details; yellow-dot items are excluded, as well as some other brands, plus the discount is either 15% of 10% on certain more expensive departments.) Then if you spend $75+ you can use coupon code FREESHIP75 for free shipping, too.
The bad news is that if you’re anything like me, you’ll immediately be drawn to the yellow dot stuff that’s excluded from the coupon. The good news is that most of that stuff is 70% or more off, already. There’s no shortage of bargains, with or without the coupon, is my point.
Kohls it out
Why wait until Wednesday to Kohls? There’s plenty of sales going on today, you can redeem your Kohls Cash, everyone gets free shipping on $75+, automatically, and there’s a slew of new items just added in to the clearance section.
Plus—of course!—there’s coupons. Everyone can use coupon code YOU for 15% off any order, or if you spend $100+ you can use code HEART for 20% off, instead. (I see some great prices on the remaining Christmas clearance, by the way… just in case you’re ready to start working on next year.)
