If you missed the Zork shirt…
… or if you just have a weak spot for funny t-shirts in general, get on over to Tanga—they’re having a t-shirt sale and today’s the last day. Choose from a variety of snarky shirts (including the Zork t-shirt a few of you missed when it was a Daily Deal last week) marked down to just $7.99, then apply coupon code TANGA to save another 10%, too. Shipping is $1.99/shirt, so the coupon essentially cuts the shipping down to $1.20/shirt. Still, y’know, under $10 apiece for funny shirts.
Clearly, I’ll be grabbing the “Keep Calm and Nerd On” shirt. Uh, for a friend. Ahem.
Leggo my LEGOs
Looking for a way to get the bricks up off the floor when playtime is over? Studies have shown that having a suitable LEGO storage system does not, in fact, decrease the number of times your bare foot finds a pointy little piece on the floor in the dark, but hey—hope springs eternal.
Today there’s a Groupon deal on LEGO storage; $9 buys you either a medium LEGO City bin and playmat or a large LEGO Fire bin and playmat. Either one means there’s a place for everything when your kiddo is done creating, and at only $9, it’s worth kidding yourself that they’ll actually clean up.
It’s National Umbrella Day!
No, really. I have no idea. Who decides these things?? Nevertheless, here we are.
They’re celebrating over at the Target Daily Deals with a slew of cheap rain boots and umbrellas. And of course the daily deals always ship for free, too, so it’s a good time to stock up for… um… the next National Umbrella Day. I guess.
BOGO at Hot Topic
Standard Disclaimer: I am too old to shop at Hot Topic. I don’t even particularly like Hot Topic (possibly because it makes me feel old and curmudgeonly…), but my teens do, and I hope you don’t judge me for sharing these deals. I swear this does not mean I’m sashaying around in leather skinny jeans and ripped, obscene t-shirts. Pinky swear.
Anyway! If you or your kids dig Hot Topic, now would be a good time to shop. The entire store is Buy One, Get One Half Off, and it even works on clearance. Shipping is a flat $4.99 no matter your order size. And as far as I can tell, they don’t actually require you to have tattoos and/or pink hair to shop there, despite what the graphics on the site might lead you to believe.
Kitchenware clearance ahoy
Feeling domestic? Hop on over to Oneida today an check out the options under Sale—they’re having a kitchenware liquidation with incredible markdowns on all kinds of goodies. Go ahead and use coupon code TTE10 for an additional 10% off, too.
Be patient; the site’s running kind of slow (probably due to the sale, although the good news is that I almost posted this yesterday and the site was so slow I gave up; today it’s running a little better). Shipping is a flat $2.99 if you order $25+, and then free at either $49 or $99 depending on what’s in your cart. (I’m not entirely sure how that’s determined, so forgive me for being vague.)
I’m giggling over here, thinking “Well if you tried to get on the Burt’s Bees site yesterday, this site will seem downright speedy to you, today.” I am easily amused.
Feeling patient? Burt may have a deal for you
Alert reader Dawn was kind enough to point out that right now, the infamous grab bags at Burt’s Bees are marked down to just $15 each (they are each $50 worth of products) in the Outlet. Fantastic, right? Well… yes and no. The good news is the price. The bad news is that the site is moving like molasses right now. Does the pursuit of the deal outweigh the aggravation of waiting and waiting and maybe having it crash when you try to check out…? That’s up to you.
Shipping is $7, or free on orders of $49+. If you get that far. Good luck! (And thanks, Dawn!)
[Edited to add: Thanks to Brenda for pointing out that coupon code SPRING13 can be used for $5 off your $25+ purchase, too.]
Instant home party
Listen: on the one hand, I really believe that spending $200 on a margarita machine—even if it is the Margaritaville DM2000 Premium Frozen Concoction Maker and $200 is its lowest price ever—is pure crazytown. I’m certainly never going to buy one, because 1) I don’t have that much space on my counter, 2) I don’t drink often enough to justify the cost, and 3) I haven’t fallen and hit my head recently, so really, any chance of me thinking I need to spend $200 on a drink machine is not happening.
On the other hand, maybe you have a generous relative (or are a generous relative, in which case I am available for adoption) or you run an underground margarita club or you have twelve children, all of whom subsist on a smoothie-only diet. In any of those cases, maybe you want to know about this deal. Because it is a great deal on a highly-rated machine.
So… there you go. You decide. But if you get one, let me know. I’ll be right over.
Get dressed at 6pm
So today 6pm.com is luring me in with multiple offers; they’ve got an under-$35-handbags-and-accessories sale going on, a 75%-off-office-wear sale (which is basically, “Here, have a whole slew of clothing and shoes on sale”), not to mention all the rest of today’s offerings.
Every now and then they’ll have a few days and so-so sales and I’ll think I can quit them. Then they’ll have a day like today. 6pm addiction isn’t a thing, is it? I’m sure it’s not.
Get artsy
Today Tanga is filled with dorky delights (my favorite kind)—they have a Zork-themed t-shirt I love, plus they have an entire shop of discounted Banksy canvas prints. (If you don’t know what Zork is, please get off my lawn. If you don’t know about Banksy, go here.)
I love the smell of nerdery in the morning.
A little something-something for next week
I don’t want to get into a debate about sexy lingerie for Valentine’s Day—maybe it’s your thing, maybe it isn’t—but there’s no denying that that the first lesson Hallmark brought to February 14th is “buy stuff,” and the second lesson is “get it on.” That’s just kind of how it is. Agree or not, sometimes you just want a good deal on something that’s going to look fantastic on the floor you. Ahem.
So here’s two ways to score (see what I did there…?) with the sexy, today: Either you can shop the qualifying Frederick’s of Hollywood items at Amazon and automatically get an extra 25% off (and perhaps leverage your Prime shipping), or you can go shop directly at Frederick’s of Hollywood where today all regular-price items are automatically an extra 20% off and shipping is free, site-wide.
Obviously there’s a larger selection on the site itself, but you may get a better discount if Amazon has what you want. (And there’s pages of clearance items on the Frederick’s site, if you want to get the cheaper prices and free shipping.) You’ll just have to take a look.
