Do you know what today is?
Pssssst! It’s Free Pancake Day. For charity. Just sayin’.
(The irony of bringing this information to you as someone who can no longer eat gluten is not lost on me, by the way. But I’m doing it anyway. For the children.)
Smelly (but in a good way)
Been looking for a deal on your favorite fragrance? It’s a great time to shop at Perfumania—right now they’re offering 25% off site-wide when you use coupon code LOVE25, and then you can stack that with coupon code SAVE10 for an additional $10 off $50+. (Just bear in mind that the second coupon will not apply if the first one takes your total to under $50.)
Looks like shipping is currently free, too, and of course you always get free samples with any order.
(They carry Clinique Happy! I’m not much for fragrance but I do love that one. And… it inexplicably comes with a free pair of headphones. Because… yeah, I have no idea.)
Stock up on Doodles
I know I’ve highlighted these before, but they make great gifts and keep-the-kids-busy-during-travel and other such times occupiers. I love the Doodle books especially because they appeal to kids who are “too old” for coloring books, too.
All of the following are currently just $4 at Amazon:
Superhero Doodles for Kids
Monster Doodles for Kids
Pocketoodles for Young Artists
Pocketoodles for Boys
Pocketoodles for Girls
Best Friends Forever My Doodle Scrapbook
Plus these are also just $4 currently:
Fridge Art: Funny Faces
Fridge Art: Activity Fun
And it’s another good day to Woot
Whoa, I find it’s really rare that Kids.Woot has an excellent offering two days in a row, but apparently this is going to be a good week. Yesterday’s train/LEGO table was cool, but check out today—they’ve got those big cardboard play structures from National Geographic for just $10 each!
Choose from a castle, jeep, or a Tyrannosaurus Rex. (For reference: Here’s the castle at Amazon for $25.) The kids can color ’em and decorate however they like, so it’s both an art project and a pretend play environment. And don’t forget—$5 ships everything you buy for a whole day. Would this be a good opportunity to stock the gift closet and tuck away extras for next year’s Toys For Tots? Absolutely!
I love these things so much. (We didn’t have them when my kids were little, you know. We had to build our forts out of pillows and old sheets. And we liked it.)
Old Navy will seize any excuse to have a sale
I don’t know if you know this, but apparently there was some sort of sporting even on television yesterday. (I know, I was surprised, too!) So, naturally, the first thing I think when I hear “Super Bowl” (right after I think “onion dip”) is “sale at Old Navy!”
So shop whatever you like that’s not labeled an “Everyday Steal” and you can use coupon code GAMEDAY today only to save 20%. It works on clearance, so there’s definitely deals to be had. Don’t forget about free shipping on $50+, and that works across all of the Gap family of stores. (Alternatively, include absolutely anything from Piperlime and you’ll get free shipping on any size order.)
But the deal’s only good through the end of today (February 4th, 2012), so don’t delay. Coincidentally, that’s how long there will be any leftover onion dip and potato chips at our house….
The Tooth Fairy called…
… and she wants her necklace back.
(It’s not just me, right? That’s both creepy and totally looks like a giant, deformed human molar?)
Don’t forget to be Fab…
… especially if you followed the directions last month to grab some free credit. I thought those credits would expire at the end of January, but actually they’re valid through Valentine’s Day! So get over to Fab to spend ’em before they go away.
Today there’s a SodaStream boutique, and while that’s not my thing, if you already have a machine and want to get some cheap(ish) mixes and flavorings, today’s the day.
Go back to the Olympics, Mario-style
One of the bonus Deals of the Day at Best Buy today is Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games for the Wii, for just $19.99 (looks like they’re sold out for free shipping, though; you can order it to pick up at your local store). The same game is still running right around $32 at Amazon, so if you’ve been waiting for a deal, this may be your chance.
We don’t have this one, but my kids love the last Summer Olympics one. It’s all a little confusing to me, of course, but then, I am old and easily confused.
Table the toys
This is a good one if you’ve kinda-sorta been wanting a train/LEGO table but you’re short on space—today Kids.Woot has the KidKraft 2-in-1 activity table for just $69.99 (so $75 shipped). It’s pretty compact, but comes with both a train set and a slew of LEGO-compatible blocks.
For comparison, the same table at Amazon will run you $100-$115 shipped, depending on the seller you choose. With the money you save, you can buy more bricks to step on and more trains to end up in your breakfast cereal. (I… may be projecting a little bit, on that last part.)
Smells like teen boy
If you’re my age, you remember when all teen boys smelled like Drakkar Noir. Mmmmm… cologne-y. Nowadays, of course, boys are much more forward-thinking, and so instead of dousing themselves in semi-expensive smelly stuff, they douse themselves in cheaper, available-at-the-grocery-store smelly stuff. Hooray?
Most teens I know go for Axe, and if you happen to be caring for and feeding one of those, you might want to check out this $1 coupon at Amazon, because it’s valid on a whole bunch of different Axe options. Sure, they’ll all stink up the house in their own unique way, but it’s still preferable to the other scent of teen boys, which is a lot more like stinky socks.
Combine the coupon with an already-discounted price and Subscribe & Save for the best savings, of course. This double-pack of “Dark Temptation” spray (I’m not laughing, I, uh, have something stuck in my throat) is down to $7.47, for example, so turns into a great deal when you stack up all the savings.
Assuming you don’t mind smelling like “dark temptation,” that is.
