Working Mother magazine, cheap

Working Mother is one of those magazines I always forget about how much I like until I pick one up in a waiting room or something, and then I’m all, “Huh, I really like this.” I have no idea why that is. Some small part of my brain must persist in believing that any magazine called Working Mother must be full of recipes that involve canned soup and tubes of biscuit dough. But it’s not true! Mostly I like it for the profiles of other working moms. (And, okay, sometimes it has coupons.)

Anyway, if you bop on over to Tanga today, they have a year of Working Mother for just $12.99, but if you apply coupon code MOTHER it comes down to just $3.99. Better still, you can buy up to 5 years at that price!

It’s also an excellent mag to have around when the kids need to make collages. Lots of pictures of kids and such. Heh.

6pm has my number (once again)

So one of the featured deals today at 6pm.com is up to 70% off Lucky Brand, and you know how I feel about Lucky.

Why, if I was in a shopping mood, that would absolutely have broken any anti-shopping resolve I might’ve had. As it is, I’m just sharing the news with you, just in case you, uh, need it.

Shhhhh, shop the secret sale

They’re having another secret sale over at Vera Bradley, and by telling you about it I probably just created a hole in the space-time continuum. I’m sorry, but the deals are good enough I couldn’t keep it to myself.

Besides, if you get a great price on something pretty, it’s totally worth it, right? Right.

Serge away, serge away, serge away

I am not a seamstress; my expertise ends at minor repairs and reattaching buttons. But the people I know who can actually, you know, make things with needle and thread all swear that a good serger is basically the gateway drug to creating anything you might want to make.

(Me, I can barely thread a regular sewing machine without hurting myself. I’m pretty sure a serger could land me in the hospital.)

Anyway, today’s Home.Woot is a Singer Stylist Serger for just $155 shipped. A quick look at Amazon reveals that this machine usually goes for about $400. The reviews seem favorable, so I’m not sure why there’s such a big price drop. Maybe it’s an old model?

Regardless, after you get it, I would like a stuffed unicorn, please.

Nommy Valentines

My children are past the age of needing a big box o’ Valentine’s Day cards to take to school, but if they weren’t, you can bet I’d be buying a couple of boxes of Chocolate Scratch & Sniff cards from Amazon with free Prime shipping. Yum.

On the one hand, $8 delivered for 24 cards is more than the $3 or $4 I’d pay by hitting the store. On the other hand, 1) I don’t have to go to the store, and 2) they smell like chocolate. So.

Let them lounge around

I’m totally digging today’s Kids.Woot offering—it’s a KidKraft adjustable lounger, and I’m feeling like just hanging out and reading for a while every time I look at the pictures. Comfy!

Their price today is $60 + $5 for shipping, which is still $20 less than current Amazon price.

Remember: The more comfortable you can make it for the kids on the floor, the better the chance they won’t steal your spot on the couch.

Stock up on paper towels

If you visit Staples.com today, you’ll see that right now you can get free shipping on any order of “cleaning and breakroom” products. Personally, I hate to clean, and I’m still looking for a breakroom in my house (I’m sure I ordered one…), but if you click through on that banner you’ll see that today only, you can get a case of 12 rolls of Brawny paper towels for just $9.99 delivered. That’s just $.84/roll! And you don’t even have to wrestle it into your shopping cart and try to find space for the milk, too.

Maybe that last part is just me.

(Full disclosure: Use reusable towels! Save the planet! I try to do that, I do. But some things I just want to be able to throw away after I clean them up. That’s all I’m going to say about that.)

A spa for your face, at a discount price

If you’ve been dying to get your hands on a Clarisonic, but don’t feel like selling a kidney to get one, you might want to check out today’s Target Daily Deals—the featured deal is a “Spa Sonic” skincare system (a knock-off of the Clarisonic).

At just $36 shipped it’s a lot more affordable than the real thing, and the reviews are positive (even from a user who also owns a Clarisonic). This could be the cheaper way to more beautiful skin.

A few Saturday deals

(Once again—though you are probably sick of me saying so—I know the last week or two things have been spotty around here as I deal with some more pressing matters outside of the computer, and I appreciate your patience.)

Here’s a few deals for the weekend to keep you happy and frugal:

This weekend at 6pm.com you can get Converse and Keens for up to 70% off! Get those summer sandals now, before the prices go back up.

Children’s Place is going another Buy More, Get More event—take 20% off any order with coupon code W2G2012, 25% off your $50+ order with coupon code V2G2012, or 30% off your $60+ order with coupon code U2G2012.

Get free shipping on every order all weekend long at American Eagle, 77 Kids, and Aerie. In addition, American Eagle and Aerie are taking an automatic additional 40% off clearance prices, and 77 Kids is taking an extra 30% off their clearance.

Today only, you can use coupon code GAPEVENT over at—obviously—Gap to take 25% off your purchase.

Save 20% on most departments (10% on others) this weekend at Macy’s with coupon code RED, plus don’t forget that all orders of $99+ automatically ship for free.

Need a yummy Valentine’s Day gift? Shop Harry and David right now and you can take 20% off your order with coupon code VAL20.

Aaaaand… now I want a pear. Darnitall. (Pro tip: Never post Harry and David deals on an empty stomach.)

Heads up, K-Cup users

I know that for many of you with Keurigs, life is merely a series of scavenger hunts for a good deal on K-cups. Heh. If that sounds familiar, you might want to check out Eversave today—they’ve got a deal where $17 gets you $35 to spend at Coffee For Less, and that’s a great way to score some K-cups for way less than the usual price.

(They have coffee in all forms, actually, but it’s the K-cups that caught my eye.)

Shipping is a flat rate of $5.95, or get free shipping on $45+. I’m sure you can figure out how to wrangle the best deal with your $35 voucher, because you’re smart like that.
