What I’d be doing right now

I am, at this very moment, tromping through the woods with my son’s class, in the name of “education” and “learning” and “suffering for the children.” Ahem.

But—through the miracle of future post scheduling—I can tell you what I’d be doing right now if I was home at my desk where I belong. I’d be checking out my favorite new-fancy-sale-every-day-with-boutiques-going-live-at-11:00 sites.

Because I’m probably getting poison ivy right now, you’ll have to do it for me. Look, it’s 11:00! So go check out today’s deals at Rue La La, One Kings Lane, and Fab.com. I have no idea if there’s anything fantastic there right now, but chances are there might be.

And I’m missing it. For the children. Alas.

Another Clinique bonus opportunity

If you missed the deal at Clinique that I posted earlier this week, don’t fret! The Half-Yearly Sale is on over at Nordstrom, and clicking on the little “Clinique Bonus” graphic on their main page will take you to a similarly fabulous deal—spend $25 on Clinique, get the Tracy Reese bonus set (a $75 value) for free!

Shipping’s free, too, because Nordstrom now does that all the time. Hooray!

Slashed shoe prices at Lands’ End, today only

Is there anything more comfortable and reasonably-priced than the ubiquitous Lands’ End moc? Maybe they’re not a high-fashion statement, true, but you can pry mine out of my cold, dead hands.

Today (Thursday, November 3rd, 2011) only, get your shoes on over at Lands’ End, and you can use coupon code SHOE40 with PIN 1115 for 40% of all shoes (excluding Allen Edmond styles). It works even on sale items, so you could scoop up a deal on those winter boots you’ve been putting off buying or bag some sale styles for next spring. Up to you. Heck, at 40% off, get both!

Spend $50+ and the shipping is free, too. Even better.

For your next snow day

The next time you need to keep the little ones from going stir-crazy indoors, how awesome would it be to pull out today’s deal from Kids.Woot? Just $18 shipped gets you a jumbo cardboard candy house they can put together, color in themselves, and then play in. That could take up a lot of time with something other than, “Mom, I’m bored!”

Shipping stays just $5 for up to three houses, so be a real hero and get another one (or two) for gifts. They come flat and can be assembled tab-in-slot style, so no glue or tape necessary.

I shamelessly love these playhouses, so much so that I briefly wondered if I could get away with buying one for the dog. (But she said she’d rather have a cookie.)

Free shipping at Crayola

I spy a few interesting sale items over at Crayola, but—perhaps more importantly—I have a free shipping coupon. Use code CRAFREESHIP for free shipping on any size order, which makes for a real deal if all you want is a package of markers or something.

They have the traditional art supplies plus tons of other things, so definitely worth a look if your kiddos enjoy creative playtime. Stocking stuffers, maybe…?

If you plan to send cookies this year…

… allow me to help you out with a few free ones. (I, of course, cannot eat these because they’re not gluten-free, but if you eat wheat, go enjoy.)

Right now you can order 6 free cookies from Cheryl’s Cookies—just pay the shipping (which is $6.99). Now… I realize they’re saying the cookies are free, but still, you’re paying $7 for 6 cookies, which… yeah. Not so fab. But! You also get a $10 gift card you can use towards your next purchase with those 6 cookies. And a lot of their gifts ship for free. Sooooooo if you think you’ll be sending cookies to someone from there this season, this is a nice little perk of free cookies for you, and a few bucks off your next order.

Plus, you know, it’s cookies. So there’s that.

Get ready for teacher gifts!

You know how I love to rock the sales at Bath and Body Works for both the foaming hand soaps and teacher gifts, right? It’s practically a yearly ritual around here.

Right now they’re running their “Buy 3, Get 2 Free” sale, and that’s pretty good, but let’s make it better: Add six (not five!) items to your cart, then apply coupon code F114850 for one free item and $10 off your entire order. So basically you’re buying 3, getting 3 free, and getting free shipping and a few bucks off, besides.

They should totally make a “Total Bargain” scent to add to their line. (It would smell like sparkly unicorns and buttercups, I’m pretty sure.) I would buy it.

It’s like a blind trip the dollar store

I can’t help it—GraveyardMall just cracks me up. Today’s daily deals include mystery boxes of stocking stuffers for kids ages 6-12 (choose boy or girl) for $20 shipped. Each one will include 20 items, and it’s 100% guaranteed, meaning that if you’re not satisfied, they’ll take it back and refund your money (they cover shipping both ways, too).

On the one hand I feel like this is sort of dumb, but on the other, I feel like it’s kind of brilliant. If they ship quickly, this would be a great way to accumulate items for your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, too, if you do those. I figure with the guarantee it’s not much of a gamble, so I may check it out.

Calling all girly girls

I have a deal friend with a toddler who prefers to wear anything pink and fluffy and princess-y, and I love this because my nearly-as-big-as-I-am daughter prefers anything black and Emo and grouchy. (Teenagers! More fun than Slinkys, except you’re not allowed to push them down the stairs alone or in pairs!) Needless to say, I have a lot more fun shopping for my friend’s daughter than my own. Heh.

Today at Mamapedia Deals, you can grab a $50 credit to Girly Things Online for just $25. They have tutus. And fancy hair things. And all manner of other girly delights.

Enjoy buying that stuff now, because the day will come when all she wants is ironic t-shirts from Threadless and a pair of combat boots. I know whereof I speak.

It’s never too early…

… to start planning for next Halloween!

Right now at BuyCostumes.com, you can use coupon code CLEAR35 for an additional 35% off their Clearance and Blowout items. Get ready for next year’s trick-or-treating, or stock the kids’ dress-up chest. You can even go into the Halloween clearance and click to look at items already under $10. Definitely worth a look—there’s some great bargains to be had in there.

And won’t you feel pretty next year when you’ve already shopped and gotten a great deal? Yes, you will. Just, ah, only do this if your kid isn’t the type to demand a particular costume two days before the big event.
