Hey, you know what Wednesday means
Thaaaaaaaaat’s right, Wednesday is Kohlsday! I think it’s getting to where I’m incapable of shopping there any other day of the week.
So: They’ve got the usual sales going on, plus they’ve taken new markdowns in clearance, plus you’ll earn $10 Kohls Cash for every $50 you spend. Everyone can use coupon code EXTRA15 for another 15% off clearance items, plus you can also stack code WELUVU20, which will take 20% off of everything. Shipping is currently $.99/item or free on $75+.
Unfortunately there’s not a valid free shipping code for card holders right now, but it’s unusual for them to have two discount codes that don’t require a card, so this could work out to bigger savings depending on what you’re buying. (And I don’t know about you, but I can always find something I need at Kohls.)
Snoopy! Socks! Stocking stuffers!
(This post brought to you by entirely too much coffee, and a surplus of exclamation points….)
Guess what Amazon suggested to me this morning as I was surfing around (you know, because people who looked at such and such also looked at this other thing)? It’s a days-of-the-week 6-pack of Snoopy socks for just $3.63 shipped if you have Prime. I have a weakness for Snoopy. (Also for cheap socks.)
If your little one doesn’t need Snoopy socks (hard to imagine), perhaps an organization near you does a “mitten tree” as we near the holidays? We always have a collection at school for socks, underwear, hats and mittens. These would be great for that. Just sayin’.
Rock out with your bad self
This deal is perfect if 1) you or your child is dying for an electric guitar or 2) there’s someone on your Christmas list who once gave your toddler a set of drums and now has a child of their own. (Payback is… well, you know.)
Yes, today’s Deal of the Day at Best Buy is your choice of Dean Vendetta full-size electric guitar in one of four colors for $90 shipped (plus tax). (They have “dual Dean humbuckers” which I think sounds vaguely dirty, but is apparently a good thing…?)
These are not super-super-professional-schmancy-fancy electric guitars, but some poking around on Amazon suggests that they’re very solid first-electrics and the price here is excellent. Maybe worth checking out if this is on the Big Gift list for the upcoming holidays.
For Halloween, or just because
Free shipping on all orders is still going on over at 6pm.com, and today’s features include an under-$10 Halloween costume boutique and 75% off select Clarks and boots, among other things.
I thought it was impossible for me to love 6pm any more, but then they threw in free shipping.
Equal time for felines
Lest the kitty-lovers feel left out after this morning’s dog toy post, I aim to show that I am non-partisan when it comes to four-legged friends: Amazon currently has a 20-piece cat toy grab bag available for just $5 with free shipping.
Make your cats happy! Or just end up with cat toys everywhere, wondering where on earth you went wrong. Either way.
Another chance to get Games
If you didn’t snag this one back when they had it in July, today’s the day to make good—Tanga has a year-long subscription to Games magazine today for $25, which isn’t a bad price. But apply coupon code GAMES to drop it to just $10, and now you’re looking at a deal that’s positively nerdtastic.
(That’s a good thing, just in case we’re not clear.)
Our favorite dog toys, half off
All hail Dura Doggie, one of my newest favorite companies. A while back I purchased a voucher deal for their dog toys, and I went ahead and ordered some for Licorice. Licorice, it must be noted, came to us as an adult rescue dog who mostly laid in our laps and looked guilty. We were advised by the trainer we worked with that she might never “be the kind of dog who plays.” Well, some high quality kibble and lots of love turned her into the romping, spazzy pup we know today, and before I found Dura Doggie, there was no toy this dog couldn’t destroy in a matter of hours. (Licorice specializes in emergency squeakerectomies.)
Dura Doggie toys not only donate a generous chunk of their proceeds to charity, their toys are 100% guaranteed against being destroyed by your dog. I kind of chuckled at that and bought a whole box of toys for Licorice, and I have to tell you—she’s still on the original ball. They’re truly indestructible. Also: they smell good (kind of like vanilla), no matter how much dog saliva they’re coated in.
I immediately went back and purchased more toys to give to all the dogs I know. Somehow my order never showed up, and when I called to figure out what happened, the CEO himself handled replacement of my order and couldn’t have been more helpful or kind. I really love these guys and love their toys. So go check out Mamapedia Deals today to snag $26 to Dura Doggie for $13. I promise you (and your pup!) will love their toys.
Disclosure: Although I bought my toys with a voucher coupon (natch!), I paid for everything myself, save for a bonus toy I received on my screwed-up order. I’m not being compensated by Dura Doggie in any way, I just think this is a great company making a stellar product.
Cyber Monday came early to Mattel
They did a Black Friday last month, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that today Mattel is having a Cyber Monday Sale. Really, why wait until after Thanksgiving when you can save right now?
There’s a slew of discounted toys, and everything ships for free, plus you can use coupon code BDA15 for an additional 15% off on top of that. The end result is that you get some hot toys for the kids at holiday prices without the holiday rush. Awesome.
Another chance to Woot a Dyson
I’m thinking that the last time they did this, it wasn’t a Dyson Ball, like it is today. But Woot is tempting me today with a choice of refurbished DC25 Dyson Ball vacuums, any one of three colors can be yours for just $255 shipped. (For reference: They go for around $480 new at Amazon.)
Oh, I know Dysons have slick advertising and maybe aren’t quite the Messiah the commercials portray them as. Still, it’s very tempting, particularly as I own a vacuum that weighs about three times what this one does.
Hit me Placey one more time
I know it seems like they’ve been doing this a lot more often lately, but just in case you missed the last hundred times, or your kids decided to sprout up three inches overnight, today’s an excellent day to shop at Children’s Place—every order ships for free, today, and you can use coupon codes D2F2011 for another 20% off any order or Z3F2011 for an additional 25% off your $50+ order, too.
I see some Halloween costumes in the clearance, already, if you’re still looking for that perfect outfit. (There also appears to be an inordinate number of tiaras on clearance. Who knew?)
