Happy 2011!
We did it—we survived 2010! (I don’t know about you, but my new year was ushered in with a lot of stated and implied “good riddance!”s about the previous year. Heh.)
Leave it to Dillard’s to make my new year bright—they’re having their one-day clearance, today, with an additional 50% off everything that was already on sale. [Edited to add: The site is being a little hinky—high traffic, no doubt—so here’s a tip: Go to any section and then page through until you start seeing red “Price reflects all discounts” text under the price; everything from there forward will be sale stuff.]
I do love Dillard’s. And 2011; so far I’m digging 2011 just fine.
The last Friday of the year!
Oh, Friday! All the more bittersweet because it’s the very last one. Are you ready for 2011? No? I hate to tell you, but time is running out! Perhaps some deals will make the transition to a new year a little easier.
I’m kind of digging today’s Target Daily Deals—they’ve got cheap rainboots and one of those big disc chairs my kids are always begging to get. Coupon code ON6LKVO9 should still be working for an extra 10% off.
Over at 6pm I see savings of close to 70% off on Dansko, Fossil, Stride Rite, and more today. (Ahhhh. It’s been a while since I allowed myself to look at 6pm. I picked a good day to go to back!)
As for the Amazon Friday Sale, well, I’ve got my fingers crossed for something more than coffee. Let’s see… there is… plenty of K-cups and T-discs. (Did you know Dunkin Donuts makes a chocolate glazed donut coffee? Have mercy.) And… they do have my favorite tea on sale; that 4-box pack of PG Tips is down to $23, plus you’ll save 30% with coupon code PGTEA27I and then another 15% when you buy via Subscribe & Save, which means it comes out to under four cents a teabag.
Amazon also has this Cottonelle Aloe toilet paper on the cheap—right around $20 delivered (just $.42/roll!) when you buy via Subscribe & Save.
(Hey, there’s even a special section of year-end grocery deals. Nice of them to do the hunting for me!)
And finally—just to mix it up a little—Boscov’s is having a huge clearance sale. Too many things to list, really, but everything from kitchen electrics to clothing and everything in-between. Many good deals to be had if you’re willing to dig.
Not a bad way to start the last day of the year, right? Right!
They had me at “peppermint bark”
Check out the Winter Sale over at Williams-Sonoma (it’s on the lower left of the splash page); they’ve got everything from holiday-themed edibles to housewares. Though I am absolutely not buying any more peppermint bark. Because I have resolve. And a big bag of peppermint bark sitting here at my desk. Ahem.
I’m kind of digging the reindeer pancake molds, though….
Organic, right to your doorstep
Love organic foods, but not so crazy about organic prices? Check out today’s Charlotte Groupon—it’s $75 worth of Nature’s Prime Organic Foods delivered to your door for just $35.
Shipping on $100+ is free, otherwise it’s a flat $15.
The regular prices are, um, kind of astronomical, but with the Groupon it’s not too bad. I’m currently drooling over the organic cheeses….
Expand the Isle of Sodor, cheap
Did Santa bring your little Thomas the Tank Engine fanatic some trains this year? The only thing better than a train set is… a train set with lots and lots of extra track!
For some reason, Amazon is offering this Deluxe Expansion Pack of track for just $8.49. Sure, you’ll have to wait until next week for it to ship, but who cares? That’s a heck of a deal on a whole lot of train expansion goodness.
Pick this one up, I guarantee you’ll earn Very Useful Engine status in no time.
Crazy socks (and more)
Alert and pretty Want Not reader MamaBear emailed to point out that LittleMissMatched is having a big end-of-year clearance sale, and they’re offering free shipping on every order.
I find their regular prices kind of mind-boggling. (I’m sorry, you want… $18 for a pair of socks? Oh, but they’re crazy socks? Those crazy socks had best have a stripe of gold running through them.) But the Outlet prices, combined with the free shipping, bring it down to where I can be a hero to the resident goofy-sock-wearer.
Thanks, MamaBear!
Load up on games
I find it somewhat humorous that anyone plays games on their PCs anymore—after all, doesn’t everyone and their dog have a Wii, a DS, and a pocketful of Tamigotchis and other handhelds?—but there are still some games that need to be played on a good old-fashioned computer.
If you love those, today’s your lucky day! Amazon is offering a whole crop of $1.99 game downloads to celebrate the end of the year.
What a great opportunity to load up a few games for the kids, or to make sure you have something to do on those boring conference calls. (Oh yes. I said it.)
Jeans, jeans, jeans
The end of the year is a great time to stock up on new jeans, thanks to all of the sales. Also, if you’re twisted like me, it’s always fun to go buy a pair that’s too small to go with your soul-crushing vow to get fit in the new year. (Kidding! Totally kidding! I only did that once. And they fit me now.)
Through December 31st, everything is half off at Lee Jeans, plus you’ll get automatic free shipping on every order.
Over at Levi’s, sale items are up to half off, and you’ll get automatic free shipping on your $100+ order.
And at Lucky Brand, an extra 40% is coming off everything in the sale section when you add it to your bag. Shipping is a flat $7 on all orders.
(I think a few shirts may have fallen into my cart at Lucky. Whoops!)
