You can’t be grumpy with Betsey Johnson
So today’s big deal at 6pm.com is up to 70% off Betsey Johnson clothing, shoes, and accessories. And I don’t care who you are, you just can’t look at all of those wacky styles and be cranky. You can’t even look at them and be cranky if you just spent the entire morning with both children at the doctor’s office… and the lab… and the pharmacy.
(G’head. Ask me what I’ve been doing today. I dare you.)
Hooray for Betsey Johnson, right? A little cheer on an otherwise not-so-cheery-feeling day.
Pick your savings
Been needing something for the house—sheets, comforters, curtains, etc.—but haven’t found the right deal? Today might be your day to shop! Domestications has two offers running right now; first, you have today and tomorrow to take advantage of 20% savings via coupon code DAFEASTER. That’ll work on items already marked down, even. Second, if you’re buying right around $50 worth, use code D10AFF04, instead, to take $15 off of $50+. (That second code is good for the entire month of April, by the way.)
Here’s my experience with Domestications: They have great sales, and there are a lot of bargains to be had. Just be sure to read the product descriptions carefully; they tend to mix qualities quite a bit, so pay attention to thread counts and fabric contents before you buy. That said, I bought almost all of the bedding for our camper from there (at a steal) and it’s served us very well.
Disneyfy it
(Can you believe my spellcheck thinks “Disneyfy” isn’t a word? Pffft.)
You know my number one Disney vacation tip is to buy all your Disney souvenirs and clothing before you go, right? It’s always going to be cheaper to buy from the comfort of your own home than at the ridiculously inflated park prices. And do your kids really care if you bought it from the Disney Outlet or from that shop on Main Street? No, they do not.
Here’s a cool current offer from the Disney Store, if you’re preparing for a trip: Choose from their wide array of Create Your Own products—personalize away!—and if you buy three or more, they’re automatically 30% off. But buy just one personalized item and your entire order then ships for free with coupon code CYOSHIP (regardless of what else you buy). That’s two great ways to get Disneyfied at a discount.
(Spellcheck says Disneyfied isn’t a word, either. Hmph.)
Sure, kids, have some more paper
I’m all for preserving the trees, but somehow paper conservation and kids just don’t seem to mix. They have art to create! And origami to work on! And don’t I understand? Well, sometimes I do. Other times I start lecturing them about deforestation and their eyes glaze over.
Right now at Office Depot, you can get a case of HP multi-purpose paper for just $29 after mail-in rebate. But it gets even better than that: You save $5 instantly, making the checkout price $46.39. Orders of $50+ get free next-day delivery, so if you want more two cases (or a case of paper and something else) it makes sense to get your order to at least $50. Then, use coupon code 11610387 for an additional 15% off your order or code 54907850 for an additional $15 off your $75+ order. (Both coupons exclude technology, but should work fine on other supplies.)
In the end you get more than enough paper for all those art projects, at a discount, delivered to your door. (Um, maybe you can donate the savings back to an organization that plants trees….)
More camping savings
If the tent from earlier didn’t float your boat—or if there’s other camping items you’ll need to get ready for summer—you might want to check out the Outdoors and Camping section at Overstock.com this week. They’ve just taken new markdowns on everything from mosquito soap to kayaks.
Personally, I think if you shell out for a kayak, you should get a bar of mosquito soap for free. But I’m not in charge of these things.
Chow down
I want the economy to turn around as much as the next person, but in the meantime I’ll reap what few spoils there are—like the fact that right now Restaurant.com is offering an 80% off coupon code even though it’s the beginning of the month, not the end! (Why could/should this matter to you? Some restaurants offer a limited number of coupons each month, and are typically sold out by the end of the month.)
You have through April 6th (that’s tomorrow) to shop Restaurant.com for dining certificates and save 80% with coupon code CHOW. The last time they had a code I was thrilled to discover several new eligible restaurants in my town. We’ve already used one certificate and have date plans for next weekend. When $25 of dining costs me just $2 out of pocket, I consider that a divine sign that I deserve a meal out. I mean, really.
Happy dining!
There’s a fungus among us
Truthfully, the fact that it has good reviews matters to me not at all; mostly I am jazzed about the Amazon markdown to $13 of Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars because the name is simply delightful. Tell me you can look at those screen captures—or even say the game title—without giggling. I don’t believe you can. Though tossing a couple of those into the gift closet is no laughing matter, right?
That’s what Monday morning needs more of, people. Mushroom people. Hee!
The great outdoors
My husband and I have a great story (and by “great” I mean it always makes me laugh) about a time when we went camping together and he took it upon himself to set up tent all on his own and then spent the weekend complaining to me about how hard it was to set up. And I spent the weekend telling him he should’ve waited for help. This is how you build a solid foundation for a marriage, by the way—mockery.
If you’ve not had the chance to take your family into the great outdoors so that you can figure out new and exciting ways to mock each other, you might want to check out today’s Daily Deals at Target—they have a Coleman tent that sleeps 7 on sale for $120 with free shipping. (Also, going through this handy link right here will give you an additional $5 off!) Remember, of course, that “tent lingo” translates such that “sleeps 7 comfortably” means “you can stack 7 people in here like cord wood.” Nevertheless, this would be a comfortable tent for 4-5 people if you’re not a die-hard outdoors sort.
The mockery is optional, of course. I just find that it helps offset the joy of all the bugs.
Saturday deals
This weekend is completely getting away from me. I mean, apparently I’m supposed to cook a large hunk of meat tomorrow, and have a clean house. Can you imagine? I’m pretty sure Jesus doesn’t care if I dust, but there you go.
In the meantime, let’s check out this weekend’s deals….
Today only, take 15% off your entire purchase at Old Navy using coupon code ONPLUS15. Plus, shipping is automatically free on $75+. Combine that with the Spring Sale that’s already going on and you’re looking at big savings.
The Easter Sale at Macy’s means an extra 10% or 15% off of everything, on top of markdowns already taken. (Pssst… it’s a great time to buy a pretty dress. Tons of ’em on sale.)
There’s plenty of great shoes on sale today at 6pm.com, of course, but they’ve also slashed prices on Dakine bags and Vestal watches, lest you forget that they’re about more than just shoes. (Want more shoes? Shoebuy.com is giving 20% off with code EASTER, and Shoes.com is giving 15% off with code SPRING15.)
Just in time for their Spring Sale, there’s a new coupon available for The Children’s Place—just use B4A4A this weekend only to get an additional 15% off your purchase. Shipping is always a flat $5.
I see some pretty cute skull backpacks on the Company Store Deals of the Day (along with some organic coverlets which aren’t too bad, either).
And finally, if you’ve got a Keurig brewer, now’s a great time to stock up on K-cups: Amazon is offering 25% off when you use coupon code KCUP5499 for 10% off and then buy via Subscribe & Save to get another 15% off and free shipping. You could snag a box of 50 cups for as low as $15.50!
I have to go clean something… or everything… but I swear I’m getting to those contest winners from this week very soon….
Don’t forget to Get More, too
Do you have a Discover Card? I totally forget yesterday that it was time to sign up for this quarter’s Get More bonus, which from April to June is 5% back on Home and Fashion purchases of up to $400.
I pink puffy heart Discover. I like to call it my Free Money card.
