And another way to save on shoes

More than one awesome deal on shoes in a day? I think I’m in heaven.

All week, use coupon code SALE to take an additional 20% off already marked down sale prices at Shoes.com. There’s no exclusions, so as long as something’s already on sale, enjoy the extra savings.

Enjoy the free shipping and free returns, too.

Ship it to me, for free (yippee)

Today and tomorrow only (June 1 and 2), ship your entire non-clearance order from Eddie Bauer for free, with coupon code ADDWATER.

Now that there’s no longer a separate outlet, you have to pay attention to what’s on sale vs. what’s on clearance, when using a code like this. Sort of annoying. But there are still deals to be had, and you know how I like free shipping.

Besides, Dad really wants something from Eddie Bauer for Father’s Day. I’m sure of it.

BOGO is back, baybee

Woohoo—the buy one pair, get the second half off promotion is back at Famous Footwear. Ground shipping is free on every order, too, and plenty of shoes are already on sale.

And I’m sure someone needs new shoes, right? Listing these deals is just me providing a public service. While I’m, you know, on my way to look for a new pair of sandals. Ahem.

Where to shop when you’re a hot pro

(This question may not be what you think it is. Or maybe it is!)

The lovely Gin writes:

I am at an attorney in Northern California. I am constantly on the look out for court and office appropriate attire: suits, professional dresses, separates, etc. But with my trial schedule and my location (wine country which is beautiful and I love it! But woefully deficient in the shopping department!) it’s difficult for me to find the time for an all day excursion to the mall.

Could you please help a girl out and point me in the direction of some websites where I can stock up on professional clothing, at a price that won’t make my husband sigh in resignation thinking that we will have to delay our planned retirement? Further, as summer approaches, do you or your regular readers have suggestions for professional work wear that isn’t going to have me toppling over in court from heat stroke?

First of all, please take a moment to imagine my look of horror at the idea of an all-day excursion to the mall. Okay, thanks. Lord, I never spend all day at a mall. I’m pretty sure that’s either the third or fourth circle of hell. And the good news, Gin, is that you don’t need to! There are plenty of ways to outfit yourself for work so that you’re not 1) overheated, 2) broke, or 3) obligated to hit the mall.

Let’s get to work. read more…

Never underestimate the power of disco

Once upon a time I bought my daughter a karaoke machine for Christmas. It was surprisingly hard to find, and the stupid thing broke about half an hour after we gave it to her. This led to my heading to the store the next day to buy her a replacement at full price. (No, I didn’t have a coronary, but it was touch and go there for a little while.)

Since that time, she’s grown, her tastes have changed, and we have plenty of infinitely more intricate karaoke games she can play on the Wii. But whenever she has friends over… that karaoke machine still gets a pretty good workout. There’s something about a bunch of girls and a microphone or two.

I’m not going to tell you what I ended up spending on ours (seeing as how I had to buy it twice, and not on sale the second time time). But I will tell you that if you have even an inkling of an idea to pick up a karaoke machine, you could do a lot worse than this disco light karaoke machine at Buy.com, currently just $29.99 shipped. That’s basically the model we have (except that ours doesn’t have the cool lights), and we paid a lot more. A lot more.

No, no, I’m fine. There’s just… umm… something in my eye.

Saturday deals

Good morning! I haven’t been eaten by a bear (yet). Here in the wilderness we have fresh air and weird neighbors and wireless internet. I love nature!

Far be it from me to leave your deal-finding needs hanging while I enjoy the great outdoors. Here’s a few bargains to scope out while I go throw some food at a couple of kids and then force them to go hiking.

Right now there’s plenty of summer styles marked down at Old Navy; they’ve got an entire section of $30 and under options, including things like adorable summer dresses.

There’s also summer deals in the Disney Swim Shop, if your summer needs extend to cute Disney characters. (Hey, I don’t judge.) Coupon code SHIPTODAY is still working for flat $5 shipping on your entire $89+ order, too.

There’s a whole slew of weekend deals at 6pm.com, maybe even some in an array of sizes because there are so many choices. (Is it just me, or did the last few 6pm deals only come in, like, size 5 and size 11?)

Right now at The Company Store and Company Kids, if you spend $75+, you’ll get a $25 gift card for a future purchase! Just use coupon code AFFGWP9.

Like Death Cab For Cutie? Today only, you can get The Open Door EP (five tracks) for $.99 today only. Or keep it old school and pick up U2’s The Best of 1980-1990 (fifteen tracks) for $2.99.

Don’t forget to check out today’s Target daily deals; although their “main” deal is a pair of sunglasses (ho hum), they also have a gizmo salad dressing mixer that appeals deeply to my inner geek, as well as a great deal on a Skagen men’s watch. Remember, their daily deals always ship for free!

Alright, it’s time for me to put away the computer and rough it for a while. Enjoy your weekend!

One last Friday Sale before I go

We’re going camping this weekend. And yeah, I’m bringing my computer because that’s just how I am, but if I get eaten by a bear or something, this could be my last Amazon Friday Sale. I’m just sayin’. I hope it’s a good one!

Who’s a cute widdle pink camera? That’s right! You are! And I challenge you to find another Olympus camera of this quality for around $150. This one’s even waterproof to 10 feet. Pretty cool.

I don’t really know why anyone would need 120 shimmery pens, but with Subscribe & Save they’re just $10.62 shipped, so maybe for goodie bags? Or to give to teachers? Or if you have that freaking obsessive compulsive thing where you can’t stop writing? (Stop looking at me. I mean like, on the walls and stuff. I can stop any time I want to!)

“What’d you buy from Amazon today, honey?” “Oh, nothing much. Just some lightning nuggets.” (If you want a laugh, check out the “more buying choices” section on that one to see what a deal you’re getting.)

Frankly, I was a little disappointed in today’s sale, but then I checked out today’s Gold Box Deals. Everything bacon is on sale! Bacon salt! Baconnaise! Bacon (get this) lip balm! It’s bacony Nirvana, in every form you could possibly want. (Helpful nutritional note: Bacon salt is vegetarian, and a couple of the varieties are vegan, as well. But guess what they all contain! Wheat! That’s right. Sigh.) But assuming you have bacon-loving non-wheat-allergic folks in your life, I have two words for you: Stocking stuffers. Yes.

For some reason they’re doing a separate May White Sale rather than just making it part of the Friday Sale. I don’t know why. But that’s probably worth poking around if you need bedding and such.

And don’t forget that we’re in the final days of 50 MP3 album downloads for just $5 each; it ends at the end of the month. Get hopping if you haven’t, already.

Alright, darlings, I have to go finish packing up. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do, and if I don’t post tomorrow, I’ve probably been eaten by a bear. Or discovered there’s no wireless signal at our campground. Either way.

Pre-made Indian food deal

Okay, I’m a little pressed for time, so go ahead and insert your own disclaimer here about every food is more healthful and delicious if you make it yourself. Okay. Good? Good.

But if you’re going to buy prepackaged, get a deal on it. Of course. Right now if you shop for Going Native foods at Amazon, you can use coupon code NATVGO35 to save an additional 35%. Combine that with Subscribe & Save for another 15% off and free shipping, and you’re getting half off altogether. It comes to around a buck fifty per package.

I’ve never had these before, but I’m a sucker for Indian food.

I’m not looking, but maybe you are

I’m trying very hard to remind myself that my children really don’t need any more clothes right now.

But if they did, I’d be running over to The Children’s Place, because in addition to the stuff that’s been on sale for Memorial Day this week, they’ve taken an additional 50% off items in the clearance section. There’s things like $.99 leggings and turtlenecks to be had, which are very very hard for me to pass up. (You have no idea how hard it was to type this entry while sitting on my hands.)

Don’t forget coupon code S2A59 for an extra 15% off, too!
