Back to school at EMS

EMS.com Up to 40% Off Back To School SaleIt’s that time again—time for retailers to mark stuff down and claim it’s because school’s starting. Hey, I’m not complaining. This time you can save up to 40% at EMS and also get free shipping automatically if your order tops $100.

Because it’s supposed to hit 103 today

I know that retailers say we’re at the “end of the season” now, and I don’t know about you, but I feel pretty strongly that when the mercury hits 103 it is still summer. Call me crazy.

figleaves.comThat’s why it’s still really good news that Fig Leaves is having a big swimsuit sale now. There’s still plenty of hot weather left to go around, so you might as well look cute while you roast next to the pool. (Sort by price to find the good stuff.)

Dishes to go with your new silverware

So maybe you got in on that silverware deal yesterday and now you’re thinking you need some new dishes. Or maybe you have old silverware and need dishes. Who knows. Either way.

Right now Amazon is doing a promotion on Corelle Livingware where if you buy two 16-piece, 4-person sets you can take $20 off the total with coupon code ZU5NFNR4.

Everyone needs service for at least eight people, even if you’re just one person, because who wants to have to wash dishes all the time? (Okay, brace yourselves for the commenter who will claim to be feeding a family of twelve on service for six because it’s kinder to the environment, or something.)

Did you know. . .

… that JC Penney does a Wednesday Deals thing every Wednesday? (They tried doing the Wednesday Deals on Thursday, but it never really caught on….)

I’ve not found too much of use there, lately, but if you’re in the market for a toaster in an unusual color, today just may be your day!

Twice as nice

Hey, here’s a twist in the “time for another Restaurant.com promotion” game: This time they have two different codes available.

They do the same thing. And they’re not stackable. So really, who cares that there are two? The whole thing is confusing me. But there you go.

Now through Sunday, August 19th, you can take 50% off your order with either coupon code LESSON or COLOR. Get your $25 dining certificates for $5 and your $10 certificates for $2.

If you’re lacking excitement in your life right now, I suggest writing each code on one side of a coin, and flipping to see which one you should use. That will totally spice up the experience. (And confuse the next person to get that coin.)

“Like an international Pier One”

I’ve never shopped World Market before, myself, but this morning both Susan and Catherine emailed to let me know that through Saturday, August 18th, you can use coupon code WK28DEAL to take 20% off your $50+ order there.

And then Catherine was kind enough to explain what sort of store it is, because I live a sheltered life.

Just a reminder

I think I posted this before, but consider this your reminder that you can take 8% off your $88+ order at Sierra Trading Post through September 5th, 2007. What won’t be around ’til then, though, is their current “Going Going Gone” sale, which is this week only. (That link above should take you right to it, along with the coupon. You’re welcome.)

Be sure to check out the shoes while you’re there. Why, yes, I am the little devil sitting on your shoulder.

Sexy silverware

Yeah, that’s right, I called it sexy. Because it is. Seriously, you’re just going to have to go look at it, because it’s unlike any Oneida I’ve ever seen. (It’s called Demeter. Wasn’t she the Greek goddess of cool-looking silverware?)

Would I pay the supposed $480 retail price for service for 8? Not on your life. Would I pay the discounted $34 price for it? Maybe….

This is what I like to call irony

So, you know how I recently moved to Georgia, which is approximately the same temperature as the surface of the sun?

Today I was browsing around and saw that the Altrec Deal of the Day is some Atlas Junior snowshoes. I certainly can’t use them (and had a little giggle of glee, remembering that these days of 104 temps will all be worth it, come winter), but they’re over half off and would be a great deal for those of you who are going to be snowbound.

My kids have always found snowshoes just about the most fun you can have without a sled; not because they’re so outdoorsy but because they lend themselves to playing Abominable Snowman.
