In which I pine for California
Did you know I used to live in California? I did, years ago. There are many things about it I don’t miss, like the cost of housing or the way executives often wore flip-flops to work. But there are things about it that I really do miss, like the weather, and Jamba Juice.
If you live in California, or someplace else that has a local Jamba Juice, you can print out this here Buy One, Get One Free coupon and go enjoy twice the delicious juiciness through July 4th. Have one for me, willya?
More suitaliciousness
Pssst… still need a suit? Or maybe some dress shirts or a nice tie? They’re having summer clearance over at Jos. A. Bank right now. And free shipping on your $125+ order.
Also, I totally give you permission to say “suitaliciousness” because it’s really fun. You’re welcome.
Because they have some gadget you didn’t know you needed
I just love shopping at Brookstone. You’ve got the little desk chotchkes in there with the $5,000 massage chairs. Truly, you just never know what wonderful thing they’ll have that you might want to dream about. And no one I know would ever be able to afford anything there, even with coupons, except that sometimes, they put stuff on clearance.
And now through June 30th, 2007, you can take $10 off your $100+ order at Brookstone by using coupon code AF2JUNE, or take $20 off your $200+ order with coupon code AF3JUNE.
(Or just browse through and giggle. That’s what I usually do.)
Make your photo a masterpiece
Thanks to Kim for letting me know that through June 28th, Winkflash is running a deal on stretched canvases. Take 40% off the regular price with coupon code RM77CV63.
This is kind of a neat thing to do with a favorite picture, and a guaranteed grandparent-pleaser, too.
The fact that I would use it to blow up a photo of my children showing me what they’re chewing shouldn’t deter you in any way.
Yet another summer sale
In the mood to shop? (Of course you are. You’re here, aren’t you?) Head on over to Eddie Bauer for their big summer sale, where you’ll find stuff 50% off. And not just the stuff they want to get rid of now, like sweaters, but stuff you need right now, like swimsuits.
Maybe I’ll just spend a little while shopping there instead of packing. Just because the deals are so good, you understand….
I’ll take one of each
Given that I’ll be in a new (to us) house in less than two weeks, I’ve got home repair on the brain. (Not that there’s anything wrong with the new house. Of course not. I am just going to sit in the corner and hum for a while, now. Carry on.) Anyway. What?
Oh, right. I was surfing around Amazon just now and found they’re having a home improvements Summer Dealsdealie, which could mean big savings on the things you need to pick up, anyway.
If you get anything good and want to come test it out over at my place, let me know.
Get ready for summer reading
Do you perhaps have a Barnes and Noble giftcard lying around somewhere? I do. I wish I could find it. Because they’re having a huge sale right now, and even when I’m in the middle of packing, I think maybe I need a few more books. Because they’re educational. And stuff.
Plus-size savings
It’s time for the Catherines Bargain Blowout! Now through June 23rd, 2007, take up to 75% off on all sorts of things, from plus-size clothing and lingerie to fun accessories.
Make your own best deal with one of these coupons (valid through August 3, 2007):
776829301 — Free shipping on your $50+ order
776829004 — 20% off, no minimum purchase required
776829103 — $10 off $50+
776829202 — $20 off $70+
It’s like one of those Choose Your Own Adventure books, except at the end you look really fabulous.
Let’s try this again! Get your make-up here
[Does this post look familiar? I posted it last week when I received the coupon. Then it turned out that this promotion didn’t start until today. Whoops! It should work fine, now.]
You already know that ELF has super-cheap make-up. $1 apiece, for most stuff.
But is that good enough for us? Heck no! Why not use coupon code BIRTHDAY through June 24th, 2007? It’ll give you 30% off all cosmetic cases, 40% off all elements, and 50% off all brightening eye shadows, eye pencils, and mascaras.
You can stock your entire make-up case for about $5, I’ll bet.
To refurb or not to refurb
KLO wrote in with a great question:
Mir,
Believe it or not, I have never made a purchase from Amazon. I’m a bit of a freak about buying online.
I’m curious if you would discuss “refurbished.” Have you purchased anything refurbished? Is it better to buy new?
First of all, can I just say that I’m not really sure how I functioned before the advent of Amazon? Seriously. Did I used to run to the store for all that stuff? I can’t even imagine it.
Now, as for the refurb issue. This is one of my very favorites. read more…
