Need giant duffel bags?
If you do a quick search here on the site, you’ll find that I’ve gotten overly excited about Samsonite’s Tote-a-Ton duffel bags on more than one occasion. They’re huge, and when they’re on deep discount, I’m usually right there reminding you that these are the perfect bags for college students—haul everything you need into the dorm, then fold it up to the size of a pair of socks and stash it.
Well, well, well. It looks like we have an imposter on our hands, but at $8 apiece, pose away, I say. Today Macy’s has this Marc NY Carry-A-Ton Duffel Bag (hmmm… that name sounds… sort of familiar!) available in three different colors for just $8 apiece. These bags are 32″ x 17″ x 11.5″, whereas the Samsonite ones are an inch longer on the first dimension (identical, otherwise), but I don’t know how much an inch really matters.
Whether you’re sending a kid off to college, need to get things organized in storage, or have gifts to buy… you’d be hard-pressed to find a bag this size for any cheaper. Shipping is free if you pick up at your local store, or on your $48+ order to your home.
Love Levi’s? You’ll love this
A great-fitting pair of jeans is pretty much the Holy Grail for every woman I know, and so I know that when I find a pair I love I stock up. Recently I found a pair of Levi’s while I was thrifting that have since become a favorite, so imagine my delight when I hopped over to their site today and discovered they’re doing their Friends & Family sale!
Just use coupon code LETSGO for 30% off and free shipping on every order. It works on items already on sale, so that can add up to huge savings.
Plus, it’s not like all they sell is jeans. I mean, yes, they have jeans. All kinds of jeans! For the whole family! But they have lots of other stuff, too.
So here’s a new thing
Hello! You may have noticed that there’s a new display doohickey (technical term) along the side of the blog now, and that leads to my Poshmark closet. For the last few months I’ve started working on both cleaning out some excess and turning my love of actual, physical thrifting into a revenue stream instead of just being someone who has way too many clothes. (Although, listen, I recently found myself the softest cashmere cardigan in the history of ever for a dollar. True story.) I’m still wading through literal stacks of clothing to list, but I’m getting there.
So! What does this mean? Well, first of all, if you haven’t joined Poshmark yet, and you elect to, you can put wantnotdotnet as your invite code and you’ll get a $5 credit toward your first purchase and I’ll get a $5 credit for inviting you. That’s good, because it saves you money and I am still getting the hang of not spending all my proceeds (because, seriously, some of the deals there are bananas). Second, I will give an automatic 10% off to any blog reader who shops my closet and buys 1-2 items, plus I offer an automatic 15% off to everyone if you buy 3+ items, but for blog readers I will make that 20%. The only hitch here is that communication on Poshmark is somewhat limited, so you either need to email me or comment on an item (“Love your blog” or “longtime blog reader” or whatever you want) so that I know to give you the discount. Note that items have prices, but you can either make an offer on a single item or create a bundle and then make an offer on the bundle.
Anyway, that’s part of what I’ve been up to, and another way you can save some money with me these days. Questions? Comments? Requests? Hit me up!
Helloooooo chocolate bars
Maybe you have a kid away at college. Maybe you’re planning for Easter baskets. Maybe you just really enjoy chocolate. I don’t judge, on account of I believe that chocolate is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. Whatever the reason, this deal is too good to pass up: Amazon currently has this Hershey Candy Bar 18-pack (6 each of full-sized milk chocolate bars, Kit Kats, and Reese’s Cups) listed at $11.84, which is already a decent price. But you can also buy it on Subscribe & Save (saving an additional 5% or 15%, depending on the number of items this month), plus there’s a 20% off clippable coupon. You could end up paying just $7.20 for 18 full-size candy bars, shipped!
Maybe don’t eat them all at once, though.
These are a few of my favorite things…
Although I don’t get the same rush nowadays as I used to when there’s a new Target Beauty Box, I do still perk up a bit. And it’s like they made this March box just for me—lavender, argan oil, shea butter? That’s my beauty jam, and this month for just $7 shipped I can try $18 worth of rad new-to-me products. Plus that toner for redness-prone skin is calling my name, because one of the joys of aging (harhar) is that now my skin gets splotchy at the drop of a hat. (Middle age is awesome!)
I notice they’ve dropped the coupon for your future beauty purchase from the box (boo), but I’m still in for a cheap assortment of travel-size goodies. Target, I just can’t quit you.
Here, I make an exception for shipping
You know how I like to say that paying for shipping is for suckers. Most of the time, I think that’s true. Many (most?) online retailers offer free shipping one way or another, with some regularity. One of the very few exceptions I make to this rule is when Dillard’s takes an additional 40% off their clearance like they’re doing right now. Dillard’s charges a flat $10(ish; I think it’s $9.95) for shipping no matter what, always. And that’s a bummer. But. When they start taking these additional discounts on clearance items, I nearly always go ahead and shop them anyway. It’s a great time to pick up an otherwise expensive bed linen set, or a kitchen electric, or even a fancy dress (prom season will be here before you know it). And yes, I’d rather not pay for shipping, but these savings usually make it worth it.
And while I’m browsing (did I mention that my oldest has come out of her shell in college and I had no idea there were so many formals and semi-formals because she never went to any of them in high school…?), let me just say that the trend toward fancy-schmancy gowns having pockets is delighting me to no end.
Savings for the cool kids
It’s another big sale at Tillys, and because I once gave birth to two adorable small babies who are now both taller than I am and supposed adults with style, this pleases me. Tillys specializes in clothing, shoes, and accessories for the trendy, and is one of my favorite places to pick up expensive sneakers on the cheap.
So right now they have their sale items marked down again with as much as an additional 70% off, and you automatically get free shipping on your $49+ order. But! Coupon code H2W64ZMHNFRP will get you free shipping on any size order, plus if you find yourself grabbing stuff at regular price (hey, that’s not my style, but you do you), the code will also take an extra 20% off your highest-price non-sale item.
Anyway, whether you’re looking for a unicorn headband and some bath bombs or a cool pair of Vans, chances are today’s the right day to score a deal.
Need a little vacuum?
I shared a deal here a while back where Amazon Warehouse stuff had additional discounts, including some very highly-rated vacuums, and that’s when I got myself a new vacuum, which I am now shamelessly, deeply madly in love with. (So much so, that I am willing to end that sentence in a preposition.) I ended up with the SharkNinja TruePet on a ridiculous deal, and now I am a newly-converted Shark devotee.
All of this is to say that my nerdy little heart may have skipped a beat when I saw that Home.Woot is featuring deals on a variety of Shark vacuums today, even though if I buy another vacuum right now my husband may have me committed. Of particular note is the refurbished Shark HV301 Ultra-Light stick vac, which is a perfect option if you live in a small space or if you want a supplemental vacuum in a larger space. (Yes, I have a stick vac in the kitchen so that I don’t have to get out the big vacuum every time I’m baking and end up spilling flour on the dogs.) (Er, I mean, I am the picture of tidiness, but you never know.)
Home.Woot’s price today on these is just $69.99. (For reference, this costs $125 new from Amazon, and has an overall 4.4/5 star rating with nearly 4,000 reviews.)
So, uh, I can’t snag one of these, but maybe you need one. Or maybe I should go do some cleaning with my current stick vac and see if maybe it breaks…? (I kid! I would never. Probably.)
Soap up!
I try very hard to buy big ol’ liquid soap refills rather than small plastic bottles over and over, and also I prefer the all-natural hippie-crunchy stuff, but sometimes 1) I need soap to give out for various reasons and/or 2) I am simply cheap. And at times like that, I am grateful for deals like this: Right now Amazon has a clippable 20% off coupon on various 6-packs of Softsoap, which stacks with Subscribe & Save savings. Choose from Soothing Aloe Vera, Fresh Breeze, Golden Milk and Honey, or Aquarium in the 7.5 ounce size for a final cost of $4.45/6 or $3.85/6 shipped to your door, depending on how many S&S items you have this month.
There’s coupons on a bunch of other Softsoap products as well (refills, body wash, fancier hand soaps), but those are the best bang for the buck, particularly if you need something to get to 5+ Subscribe & Save items for this month.
Happy Presidents’ Day!

Have a Kohls charge card? You can use coupon code PINK30 for 30% off, plus code FEBMVCFREE for free shipping on any size order. Everyone gets free shipping on $75+, and everyone can use coupon code COLD for 15% off any order or 20% off $100+.
