Don’t forget to Get More
If you have (and love) a Discover Card the way I do, you may have somehow forgotten in the midst of the holiday hustle and bustle to sign up for this next quarter of increased bonuses. Go sign up and from now through March you can get additional bonuses when you eat out or go to the movies… up to $75 worth.
I don’t know about you, but I’m certainly not going to turn down extra money.
It’s a good time to Groupon
I’m not sure if this is working for everyone or just certain members, so you’ll have to take a look, but… when I logged on to Groupon today, I got a banner saying I’ll get $10 off my $30+ purchase of a single Groupon if I buy before tomorrow night. I checked with a couple of other folks who had this promo, too. Sweet!
The bad news, of course, is that there’s a lot of available Groupons priced at $29.99. Hmph. But if you find something over $30 and you have the deal, enjoy your savings!
The cheapest way to grind-and-brew
Let me start this one out with a caveat: In general, I don’t think it’s a great idea to get a combination coffee grinder/brewer, because if one part breaks, you either have a giant grinder but no way to brew, or a brewer but no grinder. That said, this all-time-low price of $39.62 at Amazon for the Cuisinart DGB-550BK Grind-and-Brew 12-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker is pretty much unbeatable, so I’d consider taking the risk. (I’m pretty sure I paid more than that for just our Cuisinart coffeemaker.)
Take a look if you’re in the market. You’re definitely not going to find it any cheaper, and you know that as soon as the orders start rolling in, Amazon will raise the price.
And a very post-holiday at Sephora
Love Sephora? Now’s the time to scoop up the holiday leftovers—you’ve only got until the new year to take an additional 20% off items already on sale with coupon code EXTRA20. I see around 100 items in the sale section, but they’ll go quick.
Some of them are Christmas-themed, of course, but there’s plenty that’s not. There’s tons of nail polish… I don’t know about you, but with a teenage girl in the house, we can never have too much nail polish.
More protein in the new year!
I am on a quest: find the perfect protein bar. It’s a fruitless quest, I know, much like finding Nessie or a perfect-fitting pair of jeans that never shrinks in the wash. Still, I soldier on, because I am parenting two string beans who think my homemade protein bars are “weird” but sometimes will deign to eat one that comes in a shiny wrapper.
Lucky for me—and maybe you—right now Amazon has a bunch of deals going on high-protein snack bars. I just ordered:
Dark Chocolate Balance Bars, which have an available 20% coupon. Between the coupon and my 20% additional Subscribe & Save discount, 15 bars come to $8.10. (I’ve not had these before, but at this price I’ll try ’em out. These have 13g of protein apiece.)
Promax Lemon Bars, which have an available $3 coupon. Between the coupon and my 20% additional Subscribe & Save discount, 12 bars come to $9.71. (We’ve had Promax before and like them. These have 20g of protein apiece.)
Odwalla Super Protein Bars, which do not currently have a coupon, but for some reason are priced much lower than usual. With my 20% additional Subscribe & Save discount, 15 bars come to $12.15. (This is another one I haven’t tried, but Odwalla makes good stuff. These have 14g of protein apiece.)
Now when my next S&S delivery arrives I’m all set for my children to reject a wide variety of protein sources! Wait….
Post-Christmas department store sales galore
I am slowly emerging from my holiday daze (slowly being the key word in that sentence). I’m not much in the shopping mood, myself (didn’t we already buy everything?), but if you got a little bit of mad money for Christmas, now wouldn’t be a terrible day to shop.
Today at Macy’s they’re doing a one-day sale, plus you can get free shipping on your $75+ order with coupon code JOY.
You can redeem your Kohls Cash over at Kohls today, plus they’ve got Early Bird specials happening, and everyone can use coupon code NEWYEAR for 15% off or code HAPPY for 20% off $100+. Everyone gets free shipping on purchases of $50+, too. Coupon code JINGLEBELLS may take 20% off any size order, too… haven’t checked that one yet.
There’s tons of post-holiday clearance going on at Bon-Ton today, plus get free shipping on any size order with coupon code FREESHIP. Use coupon code AFTERXMAS13 for an additional up to 25% off sale items, too.
And they’re doing another day of 24 $24 deals over at 6pm.com, too. That’s on top of their post-holiday clearance, of course. I do love those hourly deals.
So go find some deals on whatever you didn’t find in your stocking, or just start shopping for next year.
It’s never too early for next year
Sure, you probably just spent the day giving/getting all sorts of fancy, smell-good stuff you don’t splurge on the rest of the year, but just in case you want to start restocking your stash of Bath & Body Works goodies tonight, they’re having a gigantic sale with $5/2 Wallflowers and all sorts of other things, too. Shipping is a flat $5.99 on any order, and coupon code fallbbw20 will take off another 20%, too.
I think it’s time for me to pick up some more items from their Stress Relief line. I mean, while it’s so cheap….
Last minute? No problem
Don’t forget that if you have Prime, $3.99 gets you overnight shipping on about a billion different items from Amazon, which means whatever you forgot can still be ordered today and here in time for Christmas. I don’t know about you, but for me, $4 is a pittance to pay to not have to hit the mall these last couple of crazy days. (And of course you’re still watching those Holiday Lightning Deals as they scroll by, right? Right.)
Also, I want to apologize for not being as present here as I usually am for this season of bargain-hunting. Some unforeseen family circumstances meant I had to put real-life first the last few weeks. Hopefully everyone found what they needed and is gearing up for a lovely Christmas (or generic holiday break or whatever).
13 hours of Christmas tunes for $.99
Hey, where am I? Barely here, that’s for sure. Sorry about that, but ’tis the season for the extended dance remix of family crises, right? Right. I’ll be back when I can.
In the meantime, here’s a little something for you that you can snag with the change in your couch cushions: Amazon has this Bach Guild Big Christmas Box of tunes for just $.99 right now. It has 280 tracks and should be the last batch of Christmas music you ever need, unless you listen to nothing but Christmas music all day long, every day, every season. Not that I would judge if that was your thing.
I’m going to stop talking now. I get a little chatty when I haven’t slept much. Anyway. Music! Cheap! Christmas! Yay!
All your last minute needs
You’re still following the Amazon Lightning Deals, right? Today they’ve got a day-long bonus deal of savings on various stocking stuffers in addition to the flash deals, and that’s notable for two reasons.
First of all, what they consider an appropriate array of stocking stuffers is hilarious. Because… earbuds! Also, dog treats! Just in case your pooch enjoys some tunes while snacking.
Second, once you stop giggling over that, there are actually a few nice deals in there. For example, this GorillaPod Video Tripod has never been cheaper than its current $13.99 price, and because it’s not a Lightning Deal, you can buy more than one, if you want. Also they have some all-time-low prices on Amazon-brand rechargeable batteries.
I just hope you have some room left in your stockings once you’ve finished filling them with earbuds and doggie dental treats.
