Saturday deals
It’s a beautiful day to snag some deals, people. Except for those of you in the path of Hurricane Irene, that is. You should be getting somewhere safe, and staying safe. Please.
If you love Lane Bryant—and particularly if you like their Cacique bras, which can be pricey—this is the weekend to shop. Spend $200+ and take $100 off your order with coupon code HOTSAVINGSLB. There’s a few exclusions (coupons are never good on Spanx, for example), but the coupon works on things already on sale, so the potential for big savings is high.
If Fashion Bug is more your speed, this weekend they’re offering 40% off regular prices, buy-one-get-one on their summer clearance, and free shipping on $60+ with coupon code FREESHIPFB. Here’s a hint: If you have tweens/teens, there’s a ton of accessories on sale there—from jewelry to bags and sunglasses and such. Just sayin’.
Today’s deal at Mamasource is totally eco-adorable: Pay just $14 for a set of two snack bags and a sandwich wrap from Earth Swag (that’s half off). If you’re still using plastic bags, check this one out. I switched to reusable bags a few years back and am amazed I didn’t do it sooner.
Checking out the sale at Macy’s this weekend? Coupon code SHOP will take 25% off your entire order, today only.
If you’re an Amazon Mom and you need size 3 Huggies, check it out: Amazon currently has a box of 156 size 3 Snug & Dry Huggies available for $31.07, with the price dropping to $21.75 after your Amazon Mom and Subscribe & Save discounts. But there’s also a $2 off coupon you can clip (scroll down a bit on the page to find it), making those diapers about $.13 apiece.
That seems like a good start to the day, no? Enjoy, and I’m really not kidding about those of you in Irene’s path staying safe. Please do.
It’s a Flash Sale at Bargain Outfitters
As if their regular prices weren’t low enough, Bargain Outfitters has a little Flash Sale going on today and tomorrow. Choose from a handful of deeply-discounted items, from solar lighting to patio furniture to shorts to cookware.
All orders of $49+ ship for free with coupon code BH788, too.
But don’t delay, because this deals are only good for about another 36 hours.
In case you forgot something
It’s hard to imagine that you somehow missed the 57 gazillion sales that Children’s Place has had this summer, but just in case you were trapped under a rock or just realized that you forgot something or if your child had the audacity to have an unforeseen growth spurt, don’t worry. Today and tomorrow (August 26-27), you can use coupon code Z6E2011 for 25% off your entire order.
Shipping is free on $75+, currently, or a flat $5/order, otherwise.
If only they sold bricks to put on the kids’ heads to keep ’em little, they’d be perfect.
Olay quality at a generic price
I’m one of those people who never thought about my skin until one day, there was a middle-aged woman staring back at me in the mirror. I have no idea where she came from, but she needed a little help. Ahem. Now I use a complicated combination of products, forever searching for the “one” that will give me back the skin of my youth. (Hint: It doesn’t exist.)
Anyway, one of my current favorite products is Olay Definity Color Recapture, which I think I’ve mentioned here before—it’s basically a tinted moisturizer that also has some nice anti-aging make-you-look-all-dewy-again stuff in it. My skin is pretty sensitive and I wear very little make-up, so for me, this is a perfect compromise between going bare-faced and wearing foundation (which I hate with a passion). Amazon has a decent price on it (about $5 cheaper than I see it at the drugstore), and they have specials occasionally, as well.
Of course, I’m also always looking for a good rescue-my-skin-from-itself-please product to use underneath the Definity, because getting old is horrible. (Well, horrible for your skin. Kind of awesome in other ways.) Today I see that Amazon has Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum for just $14.44 when you buy via Subscribe & Save, plus there’s a $3 coupon to clip on the page. (That coupon works on a few different products, too, if you don’t want this.) I may try this one out, as I see it listed in the Allure Editors Picks every year and think “I should get some of that,” but then I see something shiny and forget.
Of course, your skin looks perfect just the way it is.
Another 40% off at Dillard’s
I have to clarify this every time I post it, so I’ll do it right up front, this time: Prices are as marked at Dillard’s right now, but those sale price represent a new 40% discount over where they were before.
Which is why there is currently an $18 designer dress sitting in my cart. I don’t really need it, but at that price….
Anyway, this is generally the sale where I go buy myself a little somethin’ pretty. Or talk myself out of it. Not sure which way it’s going to go, today, yet.
Turtle!
Because I’m mean, I once spent a goodly portion of a road trip trying to convince my children that I’d shouted, “Turtle!” because I saw a real, live animal strapped to the top of a passing car. Eventually I had to admit that I was merely referring to one of those hard-sided car-top storage bins, but I still giggle every time I think of a car zooming down the highway, hapless tortoise stuck in the roof rack.
It’s possible I’m not right in the head.
Anyway! If you want a turtle—the storage kind, not the endangered, definitely-don’t-strap-to-your-car kind—check out today’s Real Deal at Sears: It’s a car-top carrier for just $63.74 after discounts. Apply coupon code SEARS2011 for another $5 off, and it’s just $58.74! Pickup at your local store is free.
And if you’re not into trying to convince your kids it’s a real turtle, you can always threaten that if they don’t behave in the car, they’ll have to ride in the cargo box. (Excellent parenting advice: Just another service I offer.)
One of the hardest things to spend on
I remember having a really hard time spending any money on maternity clothes. Because they’d only fit for a few months! It seemed like such a waste! But on the other hand, it wasn’t like I could just walk around in a burlap sack. (Or my husband’s t-shirts all the time.) (I mean, I did sometimes, but that wasn’t a good look for cocktail parties….)
Anyway, I totally get not wanting to spend a ton on maternity stuff. But a good sale is a good sale, and look, here’s one now: Right now at Motherhood Maternity, everything already on sale is automatically an extra 40% off when you put it in your cart. Like magic!
That means you can afford to buy a few cute things that really make you feel good. Because—trust me!—you can’t just steal his t-shirts every single day.
A little pampering for you
Love Philosophy? Today and tomorrow they have over 50 products available for under $20 apiece, some marked down as much as 50%.
I spy 50% off off Inner Grace and Pure Grace “Try Me” sets (just $15 apiece) which would be lovely gifts.
Spend $50+ and your order will ship for free, plus you can add coupon code s224762 for an additional 15% off. (It’s not that you’re not worth it at full price, you know, it’s that you can get more when it’s on sale.)
Make all their boo-boos better
This one is back in stock, and actually an even better deal than it was the first time ’round, I think.
Amazon has the 280-count Band-Aid assortment available for $9.87 with free Prime shipping, or just $8.39 when you buy via Subscribe & Save. But you can also apply coupon code MEDCABNT for another 15% off, bringing it down to just $6.91 shipped. That’s about two cents a bandage!
I may just use these for stocking stuffers, too. Between the Band-Aids and the emergency blankets, I’m fixing to have an Apocalyptic Christmas this year, apparently.
In case you missed Mickey last month
This was a great deal last month, and lucky us—Amazon is doing it again! So if you missed out, here’s your chance: Right now you can buy Epic Mickey for the Wii and get another qualifying Disney game free, for a limited time. (Make sure you choose Amazon as the vendor for Epic Mickey, or the deal won’t work.)
I see that the new Club Penguin game is getting rave reviews, and I’m still trying to decide if I want to get Guilty Party for my kids. Whatever you choose, $30 for two hot Wii games is pretty sweet.
