The early bird gets the free school supplies
Have you ever heard of DollarDays? I hadn’t, before today, but that all changed when I found out that today (April 13th, 2011) you can snag some free school supplies. Sure, it’s early, but it’s always a good time for free!
Simply visit the site and create an account. Then scroll down to the big graphic that says “Free Shipping!” to check out their array of school and office supplies currently shipping for free. Then—ready for this?—use coupon code LS12 for $12 off any size your $12.01+ order. Yes, really. The code can only be used once per account, but you can get a lot of pencils for $12. (You can also try codes FBNC10 and SFSM10 for $10 off, also one-time-use per account, and codes don’t stack.)
Don’t ask me how they stay in business. I have no idea.
If you missed the last shaver deal
I can’t remember if the last deal was on this same razor or not, but in case you like a fancy electric razor, check out today’s Amazon Gold Box Deal is a Panasonic men’s Vortex shaver for $90 shipped.
It seems to me like the last deal was a little bit better, but this is still a good deal on a high-end razor.
Just in case you have a high-end beard.
I feel healthier already
My entire family has a cold. They are desperately trying to share it with me, too. Because I am traveling later this week, as soon as anyone tries to kiss me I throw my hands in front of my face and yell, “No kissing! Keep your germs away from me! I cannot get sick this week!!” (You totally wish I was your mom, now, I know.)
Needless to say, I’m mainlining vitamin C and the rest of my vitamins and such. So I went on over to GNC to replenish my supply and discovered that right now you can use coupon code GNCAPP20 for an additional 20% off nearly anything (“hot buys” are excluded, and it doesn’t stack with their Gold Card discount).
Hopefully you’re not shopping there because you’re living in the House of Plague, but whatever the reason, the extra savings are handy.
Got batteries?
We have almost completely converted over to rechargeable batteries, ’round here, but there are still times when alkaline will do. Plus, when the kids were smaller, I often opted for disposable batteries in their objects rather than to risk my precious (read: more expensive!) lithiums being lost in the toy box.
If you use alkalines, here’s a fantastic deal: Amazon currently has a 20-pack of Duracell AA batteries for just $9.34 shipped when you buy via Subscribe & Save. But scroll down the product page a little before you buy—there’s a coupon for an additional $1.50 off! Just click the “Clip this coupon” button to add it to your cart, then buy via S&S. End result: 20 AA batteries for $7.84 shipped, or just under $.40/battery.
It’s positively shoetastic
Today’s featured markdown at 6pm.com is up to 70% off Clarks, and you know I have a weakness for Clarks.
Good thing I don’t have a little girl—they’re also offering up to 80% off girls’ dressy shoes for Easter, with shoes starting at around $7. How easy would it be to justify a new pair of Clarks along with some adorable little mary janes for the holiday? Far, far too easy.
Lucky for me, my “little girl” has bigger feet than I do. Heh.
It’s Game Day at Target
Check it out: Today the Target Daily Deals have over a dozen extra choices, and the theme is Game Day. This is your chance to either restock the gift closet or grab a few family games you’ve been eyeing. While these aren’t the rock-bottom prices of, say, Amazon in mid-December, everything is at least 30% off.
Spending $50 or more? (You don’t have to; shipping is free on all Daily Deals, but maybe you’re stocking up.) Use coupon code I77QSLJ2 for an extra $5 off your $50+ order.
(Hey, they have Balderdash. You know how I feel about Balderdash!)
Fling! Smash! Get a new wiimote!
Some of you probably remember this deal from before the holidays, but if you missed it, it’s back again: Amazon has FlingSmash with a wiimote plus for just $30, which is about $8 cheaper than you can buy just the remote. So get an extra controller for your system for less, and consider the game just a lucky bonus.
At least, that’s what I did. Twice. We have four remotes now, which is awesome when we need to take the Lego Rock Band on a tour. (My character’s name is Mama Rock. My daughter likes to tell me she is “rather tragically unhip.” Sigh.)
One last day for extra savings
Just a quick reminder… actually, two of them:
1) Today is the last day for Friends & Family savings at Lands’ End; coupon code FAMILYSHARE with PIN 6319 takes 30% off any order and gives you free shipping, too.
2) The Friends & Family weekend at Children’s Place has been extended one more day, which means you have through tonight to use coupon code FRIEND11 to take 25% off any order.
Probably you’ve already covered both sales, but just in case you missed one or both, somehow, you’ve still got today to get in on the savings.
Mmmmm… butter chicken
Many thanks to pretty Want Not reader Golden, who points out that once again, Kitchens of India products are on a ridiculous special, making them so cheap it’s near impossible to pass them by. Just use coupon code KITCHEN8 for an additional 25% off, then buy via Subscribe & Save for another 15% off and free shipping.
Kitchens of India is a little higher in salt than I wish it was—as many prepackaged foods tend to be—but I find their quality in general to be really excellent for the price, and I love having either an instant-meal-in-a-pinch option available for my picky vegetarian or an easy way to punch up something I’m cooking (hence the title of this post). Yes, I take advantage of this deal just about every time they do it.
Oh how I love Loft
It’s possible that I’ve, uh, done a little bit of clothes shopping in the last few weeks. Just sayin’. So I’m trying to be good for a little bit, let my Discover card rest, etc. I was doing fine until I happened to peek over at Ann Taylor Loft this morning.
Here: save me from myself. You go take advantage of the fact that all full-price sweaters are 40% off once you add them to your cart, and then a whole bunch of their Sale items are an additional 40% off in-cart, as well. On top of all that? Use coupon code APRPC11VB to take 30% off your $100+ order, plus get free shipping.
I might be able to resist, but it’s going to be a valiant battle either way.
