Happy Halloween! I’m putting $3 in your bag
Ooga booga! That’s me, getting you in the mood for a scary evening. It’s not hard to do, because I have some pretty impressive bedhead at the moment….
Anyway, how about a little treat? Just go to this page on Amazon and enter code STUDENT3. That’s $3 towards MP3 downloads, and sure to give more joy and less remorse than a fun-size Snickers bar. Enjoy!
(Code must be redeemed today or tomorrow, so go ahead and use it.)
Saturday deals
Hello from the wilderness! Today I have a bonus handy tip for you: When your child assures you fifteen times that she has packed everything she needs, Mother, and then discovers at 9:30 at night in the woods that she doesn’t have a contact lens case, a segmented pill container makes a decent stand in. You’re welcome!
I will not be shopping today, but that doesn’t mean you can’t. Let’s take a look.
Amazon is doing a clothing clearance, with eligible items being reduced another 20% in your cart at checkout. Remember that Amazon is now offering free returns on clothing, which makes shopping them more convenient than ever.
Also at Amazon, if you spend $25+ on these eligible Mattel preschool games, $10 will be taken off at checkout. (Related: Not the most bargain-basement price, but the new Lego board games are proving difficult to find, and Amazon has Lego Creationary in stock for about $28.)
This weekend you can also save extra at Aeropostale and P.S. from Aeropostale—just use coupon code 20OFF80 to take $20 off your $80+ order through Sunday night.
I think that 6pm.com is trying to tell me something. Today’s featured deals are 60% off toning shoes and 75% off walking shoes. Hrmph.
Out of Restaurant.com certificates? You have through the weekend to use code TREAT for 80% off your order—that’s $25 of dining for a cool $2—and you’ll also get a bonus $20 code for Mrs. Fields! Sweet.
Don’t forget to check out your local Groupon deal for today, too, and click around to see some national deals. I’m afraid that I need to go actually pay some attention to my family today (and actually, you know, do camping things) so I’m going to have to leave you to it.
Have a fabulous day, and remember: Check your shoes before you put them on. Oh, wait. That’s probably only necessary if you’re camping. Nevermind!
Have a very spooky Friday
Hey hey, all ready for Halloween this weekend? (Say no. We still aren’t.) No reason you can’t scope out a few bargains while you’re figuring out if you can turn your kid into a Transformer with a few milk jugs….
The Amazon Friday Sale has the standard coffee overload, again, today… but also a General Foods International 6-pack for just $6.80 when you buy via Subscribe & Save. I don’t drink that stuff, but that’s a great price if you do.
Today’s Amazon Gold Box holds a 55-inch 1080p LCD Toshiba television for about $1200. Not something you’re going to pick up on a whim along with some coffee, sure, but if you’re shopping for a new set and hoping to avoid the Black Friday rush, take a look at this one. In fact, all of today’s Lightning Deals will be on high-end electronics, so it’s worth keeping an eye on if you’ve got a technophile or two on your “nice” list.
Also at Amazon, select boots are an additional 25% off, just add them to your cart to see the discount.
If you’re looking for a new set of makeup brushes on the cheap, look no further than today’s featured Target Daily Deal. Scoop up a Sonia Kashuk 6-piece set in a cute pink case and some money goes to breast cancer research, and you get a great deal. Don’t forget coupon code C4XLD4LP for an additional 10% off, too.
It’s Designer Day at 6pm.com! Deep discounts on your favorite designers, on shoes, clothing, and accessories. You could build an entire outfit and who would blame you? That’s right, no one with good taste, that’s who.
There’s a ton of new clearance available at Justice, which means you can be a hero to the tween girl in your life with very little effort. Especially seeing as how code 779 is knocking another 40% off your order.
If you missed the code to get half off outerwear at Old Navy earlier this week, you’re in luck—they just marked most of their outwear down 50%, anyway. (If you used the code before, feel free to now feel duped. No, I have no idea why they do this.)
I’ll be back later on with this week’s contest winner, and maybe some more deals. Don’t go away.
Follow the yellow brick road
It’s another Amazon Blu-ray deal: They’ve just dropped The Wizard of Oz 70th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray to $12.99. Great gift or stocking stuffer for the loved one in your life who sometimes threatens to get the flying monkeys.
Or if you have someone you don’t like all that much, but still need to buy a gift for, give this disc with a pair of striped tights. Subtle!
Cheeeeeeese, Gromit!
Oh, man. Have you looked at today’s Everywhere deal at Plum District? $50 worth of cheese from Artisanal Premium Cheese for just $25. You know how I feel about cheese.
I have to stop drooling on the keyboard….
Let’s do the time warp again
No one is allowed to respond to this post saying they have no idea what this is. If you’re too young to appreciate this deal, fine, get off my lawn and wait for the next deal.
Hmph.
Amazon has The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Blu-ray for just $18.50. Perfect for a little Rocky Horror Party right in your own home, right?
Though I’m not sure I’d want people throwing things at my beloved HDTV. Hmmm. May have to rethink this….
The soothing balm of shoes
I may have to drown my sorrows over the scooter thing with some new shoes. Wah. Right now you can pick your savings at Shoebuy.com; either use coupon code EMLHALLOWEEN10 for 20% off your order, or use coupon code EMLFALLEXTRA10 for $5 off one item, $15 off 2, and $25 off 3.
They don’t sell scooters, but they do have a bunch of other stuff. (Related: I apparently have excellent taste. I walked into TJ Maxx over the weekend and managed to make the very first thing I picked up be a Dolce and Gabbana belt which was—at the reduced TJX price—$170. Just now I went to look at belts at Shoebuy and my first random pick was $150. What is it with me and belts?)
Heads up on the scooter deal
Folks, if you ordered the A3 kick scooter from Amazon that was available last Saturday, check your order status. It looks like Amazon is claiming price mistake and has canceled some orders and reduced some orders for more than 1 to just 1. No notifications were sent.
I am Not Happy but so far haven’t been able to get any satisfaction from customer service. Better luck to the rest of you.
Edited to add: My second phone call yielded a promise to add the second scooter back, but after getting off the phone and checking my order status, the order had been removed entirely! The third phone call was the charm—I had to stay firm, but eventually they let me reorder (red is out of stock from Amazon, so they told me to order blue) and then adjusted the price to the same as the original order. Good news: I’ll get my order next week because they’re in stock. Bad news: I don’t think my daughter is going to be thrilled with blue, but at this price, she can deal.
More Prime, yes indeed
If you’re currently rockin’ an Amazon Mom membership, you may have forgotten that every eligible purchase from Amazon’s baby store extends your Prime membership by another month. Or maybe you remembered, but you haven’t wanted/needed anything from there.
I’m here to help. Obviously. Check out these baby bath products eligible for an extra 20% off, and get ready to not only save, but get another month of Prime.
It works like this: Add two or more qualifying products to your cart, save 20%, automatically. But many of those products are also eligible for Subscribe & Save, so if you want two of the same item, add to them your cart via Subscribe & Save, and you’ll save 20% on this promo, 15% for S&S, get it shipped for free, and get that additional month of Prime.
I don’t have to tell you that I no longer have a baby in the house. But for my sensitive skin kiddo, this Aveeno Baby Hair and Body Wash is a great buy with the discounts, anyway. Sweet.
Another option to get balanced
If you missed the Wii Fit Plus deal at Target from a few days ago—when they not only had it marked down, but were offering free shipping (and there’s a 10% off code available)—I have the next best thing for you.
Right now Amazon has the Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board marked down to $77. You can’t reap the additional 10% savings the way you could at Target, but shipping is free (which it no longer is, at Target) and most of us won’t have to pay sales tax. So that makes it a pretty comparable deal.
Many thanks to the very pretty Stacy for alerting me to the price drop!
