The cuteness is killing me
I swore I wasn’t going to do any more shopping for the kids. Really. But Children’s Place just knocked 25% off their dressy collection for the holidays, and the boys’ sweater with the little tie drawn on the front of it is killing me dead.
If you are similarly slain, don’t forget coupon code SORRY for another 25% off your order before you succumb. Hee.
Groupon’s looking awfully pretty today
Every now and then I think to myself, “Self, Groupon is going to get stale. They’ve offered several of the same online deals for something like fourteen days in a row, now, and soon there will be nothing new I need and that will be sad.” But then (thankfully) I turn out to be completely wrong, because new deals just keep popping up, and I keep finding new excuses to buy. Heh.
Today, for example, the Bakersfield Groupon is $50 to Whats-in-Store for just $20, and if you don’t see a whole bunch of affordable but super pretty jewelry there you totally need might be able to knock out some holiday gifts with, you might not be breathing. Or check out the sidebar deal in today’s Salt Lake City Groupon—$75 of fashionable kiddie boutique Secretly Spoiled items for just $35!
Heck, buy them both and everyone will be all blinged out at a very Groupon price. Nice!
Get there, forever
If you still haven’t gotten yourself a GPS unit (what are you, one of those photographic memory people who can look at a map and forever remember the route?), check out today’s Amazon Gold Box—they’re offering a Magellan RoadMate 3030LM for just $120 shipped.
That may seem a tad high for the recent GPS deals, until you realize two things: First, this unit is nearly 5″ across, so it’s one of the largest displays you can buy. Second, today only, this is the price on the model that comes with lifetime map updates. (By way of comparison: If you buy the same unit without the free updates, today? It costs $50 more.)
Free map updates are Very Good Things. I don’t have ’em on mine, and I’m too cheap to pay. Which means that every time I go to Kohls, my GPS insists it’s on the other side of the road (because the road has been reconstructed and shifted since the last map update). Now, I know where Kohls is, so no big deal, but stuff like that when I’m going somewhere new is really annoying. Not that I’m bitter. Much.
Actual unretouched quote
So I was chatting with some other frugal blogger types yesterday evening, and I actually said the following:
When Zappos stopped pricematching, I thought life as I knew it was over. But then they started 6pm, and my life had meaning again.
It was an emotional moment, is all I’m sayin’.
And hey, today’s offerings include Clarks, Uggs, New Balance, Ann Klein, and more. Is it any wonder I can’t stay away from this site? I mean, sure, the pricematching was fun, and everything, but this is so much easier.
A big box of games
Today all of the deals in the Amazon Gold Box are going to be on video games. So far I’m not too excited—Super Street Fighter IV isn’t really my style, even if they had a Wii version—but I’ll be keeping my eye on the Lightning Deals as they come up. This is probably a very good day to pick up Xbox and Playstation games, though.
Just in case you’re into that sort of thing. (Hey, I am all for fighting people in video games, particularly if it keeps you from wanting to fight people in real life.)
A great way to Wednesday
How it’s already become the middle of the week, I’m not entirely sure, but at least I know that Wednesday means a whole crop of doorbusters at Kohls. Woo! That’s one way to beat the mid-week blues.
Currently shipping is free on your $75+ order, automatically. If you have a Kohls charge card, use coupon code KCTAKE20 for an additional 20% off your entire order. They’re doing Kohls Cash right now, too, which means $10 back for every $50 you spend, and don’t forget that Kohls Cash is now redeemable online (yay!), finally.
I’m eyeing the storage ottomans in the Doorbusters section. Hmmmm.
I hope you’re not busy
I have just two words for you: Woot-Off!
(I’m sorry. But not really. I’ll be refreshing right along with you.)
Splish splash
Look; I know there have been a billion Target rainboot deals in the last year. I know. But somehow I kept posting them and never actually, you know, buying a pair for myself. Because I had a pair! Well, I had my daughter’s rainboots. Which I stole. Which she was whining about. And then those started falling apart. And then pretty reader Sarah mailed me yesterday and was all, “Why haven’t you posted this boot deal?” and I said “What boot deal?” and she said “It’s a Daily Deal at Target!” and I said “It is? I can’t find it!” and she said “Wow, you are exceedingly dumb.”
Actually, she didn’t say that. Because in addition to being pretty, she is also very nice.
In summary: I don’t know what the heck was up with my computer and Target yesterday, but you can still get the deal today, it’s just that you’ll have to get to $50 to get free shipping. But that’s easier than you might think, so don’t fret.
First: These women’s rainboots are all marked down from $25 to $18 apiece. Please heed the reviews, nearly all of which say these run very large (order down a size).
Second: Buy a pair of boots, select a pair of fleece boot liners, normally $10, but free with purchase of your boots.
Third: If you’re buying 2 pairs of boots and 2 pairs of liners—say, if you’re feeling guilty and are getting a pair for yourself and a pair for your kid whose boots you previously stole—your cart total before discounts is going to be over $50, so click through this link to activate a $5 off $50 coupon.
End result? After discounts—the $5 off, the free liners—your total will be right around $30 for two pairs of boots and two pairs of liners, but you’ll still get free shipping because your total before discounts was over $50. Nice. Thanks, Sarah!
This one is extra sparkly
Personally, I don’t quite understand the draw of the Twilight series, but I hear it’s a big deal. And also that vampires are sparkly, which I can support, because you know how I like shiny things.
Today’s featured Deal of the Day at Barnes and Noble is The Twilight Saga Complete Collection for $48.50 shipped, compared to the current price of $65.47 at Amazon. This would be a nice gift for your favorite Twihard who’s worn out all her books already, I guess.
Ooooh, I just noticed that B&N also has Holiday Spirits (Straight No Chaser’s holiday CD) for $9.49 today. Loooooove Straight No Chaser. This could be enough to get me listening to holiday music before November.
A tree grows… in your playroom
Do you need the world’s cutest coat rack for your kids? To my mind, the green (it’s a tree!) is the cutest choice, anyway, but check out this P’Kolino Clothes Tree at Amazon right now—the green one is just under $38 shipped (that’s over half off).
P’Kolino is a a quality boutique brand, and if you don’t think this little tree is adorable, you should check to see if you have a pulse. Just sayin’.
