I see no pottery
Do you suppose there was ever a time when Pottery Barn just sold, you know, pottery? And then one day they woke up and went, “Huh. You know, there’s only so many decorate bowls a person needs. Maybe we should expand.”?
Okay, just me, then. Nevermind.
Today (December 17th, 2009) only, Pottery Barn Kids is offering free shipping on every order (excluding furniture), automatically. There’s some cute stuff in the sale and clearance, which is where I have to look to avoid having a coronary on that particular site.
(Thanks, Kim!)
There’s still time
Today is one of the last days to still get gifts in time for Christmas without paying exorbitant rush shipping fees, you know. Just sayin’.
Have your eye on something special at Red Envelope? Coupon code JOY30 will take 30% off your entire order (should work on everything except Bose products), which I’m guessing is a welcome bit of savings at this particular juncture.
Also, it’s a nice break from tracking markdowns at Amazon. Heh.
Every time you get a deal. . .
… an angel gets her wings. I’m sure of it.
Right now the 60th Anniversary Edition of It’s a Wonderful Life is available in the Amazon Holiday Lightning Deals for just $6.50. I know it’s on television a lot this time of year, but there’s just something about that movie.
That and A Christmas Story. You’ll shoot your eye out, kid.
Santa wears Crocs
(I lied. I have no idea if Santa wears Crocs. But you know how chef Mario Batali is always wearing a pair? Well, he looks a little like Santa….)
Anyway, you might want to check out the Deal of the Day at Crocs, and then you might be interested to know that coupon codes are stackable there. Shipping is free, right now, and then you can stack the following codes, even in the Outlet:
MYCOUP20 for 20% off
C6VMRVKY3ISA for another 10% off
Outlet items are already 30% off, so the end result is a crazy deal.
Stuff’s selling out fast, but if you get in on it you’ll be getting yourself quite the deal.
If you still need a Fit
Amazon has brought back the Wii Fit Motion Plus deal from a few weeks ago—get it now for $86 shipped.
I’m still bitter that that’s less than I paid for mine without the Motion Plus, but for you, I’ll try to get over it. Hmph.
Currently stalking
Yes, I really do spend all day with the Amazon Holiday Lightning Deals in a window in the middle of my desktop, lest I miss something neat. It’s… kind of pitiful, I know, but it’s also taking care of gifts for the rest of the year, so I’m okay with it.
In about ten minutes a deal is going to come up there on this No Stress Chess Set, and I’m going to jump on it. The reviews are amazing, and I’ll confess that I am so lousy at chess that I have refused to play with my kids. Even I could hone my skills and learn to play a decent game this way, I think. I’m intrigued. [Edited to add: $8 shipped with Prime!]
(And yes, there’s a whole batch of new deals going live at the same time. I have no idea what sort of system they’re using to determine how many deals go live when, but this upcoming 1:00 p.m. Eastern mark always seems to yield a bunch.)
It’s, um, Black Cyber Wednesday?
The folks at drugstore.com are concerned that maybe you missed their Black Friday deals. And that then you missed Cyber Monday, too. And they don’t want you to be dealless, you know, because that’s not even actually a word. So they’re giving you the chance at a do-over: Drugstore.com’s Super Cyber Deals are still available, just right there for the taking. So if you find yourself really wishing you’d grabbed that marshmallow shooter or sonic toothbrush or whatever, you’re covered.
Even on a Wednesday.
If the weather outside is frightful
We’re on Day 6 of Eddie Bauer’s 12 Days of Christmas, and today’s deal is Yukon Classic Down Jackets for $59. Don’t forget coupon code BH&G09DEC for another 15% off and free shipping, too.
(Also, right now their “survival gifts and gadgets” are buy 1, get one half-off. Which makes me giggle, because if you need it for survival, isn’t the cost sort of beside the point…?)
Do the dailies
Occasionally I take a break from tracking the toy markdowns at Amazon (heh) and look at other things. Especially the various daily deals, because they’re a great way to find a quick bargain fix.
(Uh, no, I don’t have a problem. Why do you ask? I can quit any time I want to. I, uh, just don’t want to.)
Today’s Target Daily Deals include a 3-pack of book lights for just $9 shipped. Those would make great stocking stuffers.
The bad news is that today’s deals at 6pm.com are made up of percent-off offers rather than things like “all of these shoes are now $5,” but the good news is that it’s a huge array of brands and items, and even includes some sweet prices on Skullcandy headphones.
If you’ve been wanting a set of those hard-sided “spinner” suitcases, check out Overstock’s Deal of the Day—they’ve got a 3-piece set for $100.
And I just died from the cuteness of the Disney Deal of the Day, and am now dead. It’s your choice of personalized “plush buddy” rolling backpacks for kids (there’s a little carrier on the front especially for holding their favorite doll or stuffed animal).
Buying something from the History Channel Store today? Get free shipping on any order, all day, with coupon code FREESHIPDAY.
This one is technical not a daily, because it’s good both today and tomorrow, but: If you’ve been considering a purchase at EMS, now’s the time. Today and tomorrow (December 16th and 17th) they’re doing double Gear Bucks, which means that if you spend $100 you get $25 in Gear Bucks towards a future purchase (as usual), but spend $150 and get $50! That’s my kind of savings.
I have to get back over to Amazon, now….
Creative toys, insider pricing
Still have a toy (or three) on your shopping list, and realizing that money is getting a little tight? Your job will take care of that. What? Oh, not that job… I meant that today (December 16th, 2009) you’re playing the part of an employee of the Discovery Store, didn’t you know? Yeah, just for one day.
Why? Oh, just because of an employee-pricing deal I happen to have here. Today only, use code EMPLOYEE50 to take half off any toy purchase. Anyone can use it, but it’s only good for today. (Tomorrow I guess you’ll have to get a different job.)
