Eco-clean is now eco-cheap

I am slowly switching over to more earth-friendly products in our home, but it’s slow going because so many items are more expensive in their “greener” versions.

So you can imagine my cheapskate’s heart going pit-a-pat when I saw that Ecostore USA is taking 40% off all their products through the end of the year, automatically! Shipping is free on your $25+ order, too.

I’ve used a variety of their products (my favorite is the Pure Oxygen Whitener) and done giveaways for them over the years, and really just pink puffy heart this company. Their philosophy, their products—it’s all good. I’m going to stock up while the getting’s good.

Rabbid-riffic

Don’t ask me to explain them; I can’t. Don’t ask me to explain myself when it comes to why I find some weirdo mutant bunny rabbits so darn entertaining; I can’t. Nonetheless, I’m a confirmed fan of the Raving Rabbids games, just because they’re awesome. And because my kids laugh really hard when they play them.

Get a mighty dose of Rabbids at Amazon right now at a reduced price:
The original Raving Rabbids, Raving Rabbids 2, and Raving Rabbids TV Party (where, I should point out, there are games you can play by operating the Balance Board with your rear end) are all just $12 today.

It’s the most fun you can have with your Wii and your hindquarters. Honest.

Never get lost again

Still looking for the perfect GPS unit? Today’s your day! For the next six hours, Amazon is having a GPS Blowout Sale, which means the one you want is bound to come up at a reduced price.

If you’re a newbie GPS buyer, let me offer one suggestion: Get one with text-to-speech. We have one that has TTS and one that does not, and when the TTS ones were much more expensive it made sense to go without in the name of cheapness… but I really do like the other one so much more, and the prices have dropped to where the difference really isn’t all that much.

Sure, it pronounces some streets kind of weirdly, but it’s very helpful when there’s a lot of turns close together. Then again, I’m severely navigationally impaired, so maybe you shouldn’t listen to me at all. Heh.

It’s a classic

I suspect nearly everyone owns Cranium by now, but if you don’t (or if you need a fairly all-purpose gift), it’s currently $10 at Amazon. We love this game. Loads of fun for everyone, and hard to turn down at that price.

In fact, I’m considering using them for teacher gifts. (But given my kids, maybe I should be considering big bottles of gin, instead….)

One more reason to love Paypal

There’s still time to shop Toys ‘R’ Us online and get shipping before Christmas, and now there’s more good news: For a limited time, pay for your purchase there with Paypal and you’ll automatically get $20 off $75+.

That could come in handy, is all I’m saying. (For you, I mean. Not for me. Yesterday my daughter asked me if Santa would at least maybe put her coal in a plastic bag so that it doesn’t make the inside of her stocking all sooty. Ha!)

Star Wars Sunday

I swear I’m going to stop looking at Amazon today (it’s Sunday! a day of rest!), but if you have a Star Wars fan on your hands, here’s a few markdowns you may want to check out….

Get your lightsabers:
Mace Windu Force Action Lightsaber
Anakin Skywalker Force Action Lightsaber
Darth Vader Force Action Lightsaber
Obi-Wan Kenobi Force Action Lightsaber
(All are down to $15; 40% off.)

Or how about a Clone Wars Captain Rex helmet for $25 (half-price)?

There’s a Imperial Order backpack for just $5 (75% off).

Or take a look at these cool Star Wars Science items:
Jedi Projector for $10 (75% off).
Jedi Telescope for $8 (73% off).
Optical Command Unit for $10 (67% off).
Oooh, wanna mail away for the tadpoles for this Dagobah Frog Habitat? Down to $10 (67% off).

May the force be with you.

Saturday deals

Good morning! I’ve got a cup of coffee and a faceful of dog saliva. What a way to start the day! (Oh, admit it, you’re jealous.) If you’re looking for some deals, I think I’ve got you covered.

Build-A-Bear is offering free shipping, today (December 12th, 2009) only. But it gets better—use coupon code 94477 to take $7 off your $10+ purchase. (Hint: There’s plenty of mini animals for just $5 apiece!) [Edited to add: Lots of folks are reporting problems; looks like the site is having trouble and they’ve pulled the code. Congrats to those who got the deal!]

Today is Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas at Eddie Bauer, and today’s deal is 50% off denim for both men and women. Combine that with coupon code BH&G09DEC for 15% off and free shipping and you’ve got a smokin’ deal. (Remember, EB always charges a $3 “handling fee.” Hmph.)

All weekend The History Channel Store is offering 20% off everything. Also, code FREESHIP59 still ships your $59+ order for free.

This weekend is the last couple of days to save 20% on anything at Old Navy with coupon code ONSAVE, and there’s still plenty of time for Christmas delivery, too.

The Amazon Holiday Lightning Deals and various markdowns continue to keep me chained to my computer. But the markdowns! They’re crazy! Like, check out this Fisher Price Bounce and Spin Zebra for just $30 shipped! Or the Martian Matter Alien Maker Spaceship for just $5! It’s really not my fault, is my point.

There’s tons of weekend deals at 6pm.com, as usual, but check out their nearly endless assortment of pajamas on sale. Shipping is automatically free on orders of $100+ this weekend, too.

I’ll be back later with more deals and a contest, so don’t go away….

Christmas is two weeks away

Can you believe that? Just two weeks left until Christmas. I have cookies to bake and cards to address and I’m hyperventilating a little bit so I’m going to stop talking, now. Two weeks. I don’t know where Fall went, truly.

Of course you’ve got your shopping well under control, but just in case you’re still in need, let’s start with some Amazon goodness. It’s Friday, so you’ve got the Friday Sale in addition to everything else going on there.

So if you need a two-pack of fake Snuggies you can grab that for $15. Or maybe you want that ubiquitous Calphalon everyday pan for just $32, or the 7-quart Chef’s Casserole for just $50. (I pink puffy heart Calphalon; I’m sure you couldn’t tell.)

If the Friday Sale doesn’t do it for you, there’s plenty of other deals to be had at Amazon today: The Gold Box has a variety of Scene It? games all marked down to just $8 each, and there’s truly something for everyone. (Twilight for your teens, Disney Channel for the littler ones, and Star Trek for the geeks, just to name a few….) Meanwhile, the Video Game Deal of the Day is your choice of Call of Duty or Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 both marked down to $30 for any platform. The toy markdowns are continuing apace, too, and one of our favorite deals from last year is back: Remember the original Colorforms set? It’s down to just $10! (That’s a great one to pick up extras for the gift closet.)

And—of course—if you feel like spending the day chasing the Holiday Lightning Deals, well, there’s plenty of deals coming up.

Had enough Amazon? (Wait, is that even possible…?) Here’s some other options:

Remember the Daily Deal at the Discovery Channel Store? Today they’re recapping all thirty deals at their discounted prices. Sweet. (Free shipping on $75+ with code FREESHIP is still going, too.)

The Target Daily Deals include a really nice barbecue tools set, among other things.

And in addition to the usual crop of mind-blowing deals over at 6pm.com today, they’ve got Heelys for $17! I’m too mean to buy them for my kids, but chances are excellent that you are nicer than me.

Actually, come to think of it… two weeks is just about right. I don’t know that I could keep this pace up much longer, and I am really looking forward to drinking eggnog and playing Dance Dance Revolution with the kids. (What? I hear Santa’s bringing it….)

We wish you a freebie Christmas

If you feel the need to get your holiday tunage on without spending a dime (or listening to the radio), never fear. Download free music and have yourself a very MP3 Christmas!

First, iTunes is offering a free holiday sampler of 20 songs for the season.

Next, Amazon also has a couple dozen free holiday tracks for the taking, too.

I shall now commence playing Tori Amos’ Snow Angel over and over and driving my children insane.
