Cool cases, awesome accessories

Have an iPod? iPhone? MP3 player of any kind? You may want to check out Ifrogz for cases, headphones, screen protectors, and the like. They also carry the coolest and most practical case/headphone set for kids I’ve ever seen.

Their prices are always good (and the selection is mind-boggling), but today only (December 17th, 2008), everything is half-off. Everything. You might want to check it out, is all I’m saying.

Kohls gets in on the clearance toys game

It’s not unusual for Kohls to have a plethora of sale offerings, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen this—they have an entire section of toys eligible for an additional 40% off with coupon code EXTRASAVING. (Okay, I don’t know why that link isn’t working. Hmph. Go to the main Kohls page and scroll down to the open-mouthed Elmo on the bottom right to link to the eligible toys.) On items that are already marked down, there are some great deals to be had.

Shipping is free on orders of $75+, or Kohls card holders can stack with coupon MVC4816 for free shipping on any size order. (If your order already gets free shipping, stack it with EXTRA15OFF, instead, for another 15% off!) Non card holders can use NEW7274 for an additional 10% off.

Not that you’re still shopping—naturally, you’ve been done for ages. But just in case, you know.

Wrap it up

There’s still time to ship your order before Christmas, and now you can save up to 60% at the Last Minute Wrap Up Sale at DisneyShopping.com. There’s markdowns galore, plus orders of $89+ ship for free with code SHIP89.

And don’t forget that if you’re taking a trip to the happiest place on earth (this holiday season, or next year), small children do not care if their “souvenirs” were purchased ahead of time on clearance and then magically produced once you’re there. Just sayin’.

Super Tuesday for the men

Hey, just in case you need some fancy men’s clothes, you should know that it’s Super Tuesday at Jos. A. Bank today.

In addition to everything being 50% off, there are additional savings based upon what you spend. And orders over $175 ship for free.

Ladies, nothing says “I love you,” like the gift of new clothes to your favorite man. Oh, wait. That actually says, “Wow, you normally dress like a dork but I love you anyway.” But that’s pretty much the same thing.

In case you need one more thing

I know it’s almost impossible to believe that Amazon wouldn’t have that last gift you need (heh), but on the off chance that they don’t—or that the price is not to your liking—consider checking out the holiday gift guide at Barnes and Noble. Here, let me make it worth your while: Through December 18th, 2008, use coupon code P7P7Y9N to take 25% off one item.

It applies to the most expensive item in your order, and doesn’t work on video games or memberships, but works on just about everything else. They have DVD sets and games and all sorts of things, and 25% off could really add up fast on a more expensive purchase.

Plus, it’s a bookstore, so you’ll feel all virtuous and stuff.

Time for your daily Amazon toy update

My daughter asked me the other day to tell her what I got her brother for Christmas. I told her socks and underwear. She asked what else, and I feigned surprised that she thought he needed more than that. Eventually she became completely frustrated with me, but not before I convinced her that no one is getting any toys this year.

It’s fun being mean!

So here’s some big toy markdowns at Amazon you may want to check out, even if you—like me—“aren’t buying any toys.” Hee.

Today’s video games deals include a slew of popular titles for the Wii. They’ve even got the new Raving Rabbids game for $32.98. (Anyone played that one yet? I love me some Raving Rabbids.)

Leapfrog Fridge Words Magnetic Word Builder is down to $9.99 (64% off)
LeapFrog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Alphabet Set is $8.99 (59% off)
Martian Matter Mega Set is $8.99 (70% off)
Fisher-Price Shake ‘n Go Crash-Ups Speedway is $20.99 (70% off)
Fisher-Price Elmo’s Restaurant for $39.99 (61% off, and the savings on this one, given the free shipping, is incredible)

No matter what you buy, I recommend telling your kids there will be no toys this year. It’s entertaining.

Handycam, handy price

Looking for a camcorder, but want something more serious than a Flip, yet not a big bulking behemoth? Best Buy currently has the Sony Handycam DCR-SR45 on sale for $269.99 shipped.

You can check out the CNet review for the specs on it (they give it an editor’s rating of Good, while it gets a user rating of 4 out of 5 stars).

This is the cheapest I’ve seen this model, by about $70. As always with a deal like this—I wouldn’t suggest it as an impulse buy (unless you have that kind of cash laying around, in which case I remind you that I’m available for adoption), but if you’re in the market for such a thing, already, this is a great price.

Get Arrested

Ohhhh, I’m loving today’s Amazon Gold Box Deal: The entire series of Arrested Development (all three seasons) for just $28.99 shipped. A great gift for that special, hard-to-buy-for yet incredibly immature person in your life.

Which, um, pretty much describes all my friends and loved ones. Heh.

Even better than a plate of cookies

Top off those stockings with Restaurant.com certificates, or maybe just leave one for Santa with a note suggesting you two get together for a nice meal after the holidays. (Hey, Santa can’t live on nothing but cookies, man.) Through December 22nd, 2008, use coupon code SANTA to take 80% off your purchase price—that’ll get you $25 of dining for a cool $2.

Heck, at that price, you could even take the reindeer out to a nice place….

Disney Clickables deals

I refuse to even look at these closely, as it’s yet another play-with-it-offline-but-do-special-stuff-with-it-online-too sort of thing, and our house runneth over with such items, already. But these are Disney Fairies themed, which probably means they’re for slightly younger children than mine (who maybe don’t have several dozen Webkinz and other stuff accumulated).

The following are all 70% off at Amazon:
Fairy Friendship Bracelet for $5.99
Fairy Game for $5.99
Fairy Charms Starter Set for $8.99

I’m sure they’re all extremely fairyriffic, or whatever. I’m also sure that the pain of watching your kid discard or lose these things a week after Christmas will be significantly lessened by the discounted price. (Or—and this is what I love—you’ll look like a big shot giving one of these at a birthday party, when only you will know how little you paid.)
