Timeless peacoat, timely price
LL Bean’s Thursday Morning Markdown today is this herringbone peacoat, down from $179 to just $49. So cute! I’d buy one, maybe, except I live in Georgia, so I’d get to wear it maybe twice in January and that’s it. Ship your order for free with coupon code 3004296, and remember that it needs to go in the “Promotions” box (not the coupon box).
Sometimes I miss cute Winter clothing. And then I remember that being cold is yucky, and I feel better.
What’s that? Kitty Kat!
Having a baby? Have a baby shower to go to? I love this Kitty Kat baby set partially because it’s 69% off and has free shipping, but mostly because it’s so cheerful. And I don’t even like cats.
It’s a lot of stuff for not much money, that’s for sure. And it recognizes that baby girls can be outfitted in a color other than pink. Imagine!
It’s like they’re psychic
The other day I was going through the Lands’ End Overstocks and there were several things I was thinking of ordering. And then I thought to myself, “Self, there hasn’t been a free shipping coupon for Lands’ End in a while. Maybe I should wait. Surely there will be one soon!”
And then I forgot about it.
But I guess Lands’ End really loves me, because guess what I found this morning! Yes! Free shipping! (Now with extra exclamation points!) Just use code BOOTS with PIN 5206. Hooray!
The Wednesday Deals are back
Hey, JC Penney put up some Wednesday Deals, today. Last Wednesday I thought they skipped it, but I guess they ended up putting them up really late in the day.
A few cute things are available—kids’ luggage, some flannel sheets. Have a look.
Make your deal even sweeter, too: Use code SURVAUG8 for an additional 15% off.
Doll deals and don’t forget
Are you remembering to check in on the Work It, Mom! Daily Deal every day this week for your chance to win a $25 Amazon gift card? No? Well, how about this—today’s deal is great finds on American Girl doll stuff, and as we discussed yesterday, the holidays are coming. Go check out the deals and leave a comment to be entered for the gift card.
The holidays really are coming
The lovely Kristen writes:
I can’t believe I’m even posing this question in September, but the thought of Christmas shopping has started to make me have heart palpitations. I am the type of person who has an excel spreadsheet with people’s names, the gifts, how much I spent – and I add a new tab every year! So the cool (and obsessive thing) is that I can keep track over the years… but I am stressed. I have a lot of kids in the family to buy and money is not exactly plentiful right now. 🙂
So my questions to you are:
1.) Are there any particular stores or online sites that are favorites for you to buy kid’s toys? Do you wait for certain deals? When would these deals start to appear? (I esp. love the convenience of online shopping for the holidays, but I’d like to get discounts/free shipping offers)
2.) Or as a mom, do you have any particular suggestions for inexpensive gifts? The kids I’m shopping for range in age from 4-10.
Thanks for your help!
Kristen
First off, let’s congratulation Kristen on thinking about this now. Yay you, Kristen! September really is not early. I shop all year, but you knew that. read more…
And to think I almost missed it
Remember how Amazon used to do those 24-hour sales on Monday on kitchen stuff? And then they stopped? And then I sort of forgot about it (whoops)? Well, I guess they’re starting it up again, except—lucky for me!—now it’s a 48-hour Kitchen and Home Sale! Which means that we didn’t miss it, because you still have all day today to check it out.
They have lots of great deals, including this set of cookie cutters which you not only need, you need to give them as Christmas gifts along with some gingerbread mix, this year, because those are hilarious. (Holiday teacher gifts—done!) [Edited to add: And they’re eligible for the 4-for-3 promo! Thanks, Janet!]
Don’t forget to click through the tabs across the top—there’s plenty more items than what shows up on the first page. And it won’t hurt my feelings if you want something besides the cookie cutters. I guess.
Time for date night
Know what we haven’t had in… well… days? A coupon code for Restaurant.com! (Were you going into withdrawal? Breathe deeply! It’s okay!)
So here you go: Through September 21st, 2008, use coupon code FESTIVE to save 60% on your Restaurant.com dining certificate purchases. You’ll net $25 of dining for just $4 out-of-pocket, plus a great excuse to get a sitter and talk to your spouse about something other than what the baby threw on the floor today.
New restaurants are constantly being added, so do take a moment to check it out even if they haven’t had participants in your area in the past. You never know when a deal is coming to your town!
Plenty of GPS for the money
Still needing a GPS unit? I’m eying the Garmin c580 at Amazon, partly because it’s down to $149.99 shipped, but mostly because it has text-to-speech (which means it announces street names, rather than just saying “turn left” or “bear right” like mine does) and a year of MSN Direct for free. Yeah—traffic and weather, integrated with your GPS.
The only thing better would be if it had full autopilot. And snacks!
Stock your iPod, stuff some stockings
Is there ever a bad time for some great CDs? No, I don’t think there is.
Check it out: Amazon is currently offering a slew of albums on a Buy 2 CDs, Get 1 Free promotion. Get some music for you, get some music to gift; at these prices, you can do both!
Because the only thing better than the sound of silence is the music to drown out the kids bickering. Whoops! Did I say that last part out loud…?
