Special 5-hour savings at Kohls
Today between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Eastern, you can take an additional 15% off your Kohls purchase with coupon code SPECIAL15. I suspect you need a Kohls card to use it, but I’m not sure. Will test it out in a little bit.
P.S. I’m having some issues with my hosting being hacked, so if the site goes offline today, don’t panic! It’ll be back. Plus, I’m doing enough panicking for everyone.
Blu-ray? But my favorite color is purple!
I don’t purport to know anything about Blu-ray, mostly because I was still buying videocassettes long past the time when all normal people had switched over to DVD. I’m pleased to report that I do now own a DVD player. But now I have to pretend that Blu-ray doesn’t exist until I can no longer find regular DVDs, I guess.
Regardless, if you’ve made the switch, you might want to check out the Big Blu-ray DVD Sale currently on at Amazon.
(Hey, what do you expect from someone who just got her first iPod last year? I never claimed to be on the cutting edge of technology, people.)
More Labor Day goodies
It looks like all clearance items at Monterey Bay at an additional 65% off today. Very nice if you’re looking for a little something pretty for yourself.
Use coupon code 703261 to ship your order for free, too.
(A lot of the clothing here isn’t my style, but—you knew there was a but—they carry some nice shoes, including Clarks, which hardly ever go on sale.)
No, I never get sick of shoes
It’s Labor Day, and that means that it’s time to put away your white shoes, if you’re old-school about fashion. Me, I know nothing about fashion and don’t care when you wear your white shoes. I just know that if you put some shoes away, it’s a good excuse to buy more shoes. You’re welcome!
Today only, head over to Shoebuy.com and save on some new kicks. Use code EMLLABORDAY for $15 off your $40+ purchase, or code LD2008 to save 20% on any size order. Shipping and returns are always free, too.
Nothing says holiday like new shoes, right? Right.
Finally, picture editing on my Mac again
The excrutiatingly pretty, er, handsome (sorry, dude—but you’ll always be pretty to me) BB just alerted me to the fact that in today’s Amazon Lightning Deals, Photoshop Elements 6 for the Mac is just $59.99.
I lost my copy of Photoshop when my hard drive blew up a few months back, and I’d lost the discs and couldn’t justify a full-price replacement. This, however, I can do. Thanks, BB!
Heads up, Discover Card holders
Sign-up for the next quarter of their “Get More” promotion is now open at the Cashback Center. October – December you can earn up to 5% back on groceries, movies, and restaurants, but it is not automatic. You must sign up to get the extra points.
Go, do it now, before you forget.
(P.S. This is where I cordially invite Dave Ramsey to kiss my… well, you know… because these special promotions have been earning me in excess of a hundred dollars every quarter. Credit-free, schmedit-free—I’d rather use my cards sensibly, pay them off, and reap the rewards.)
Chicken for your team
Did you know that you can get free chicken strips at Chick-fil-A today by dressing in your favorite football team apparel? It’s true! Put on your jersey and head over, and they’ll give you free chicken. It’s a special Labor Day promotion, because nothing says “take a load off” like “go team!” Or something.
Not sure where your local Chick-fil-A is? Find it here.
Enjoy your chicken!
Super Mario prices
I am still very busy not shopping for that Wii that I didn’t buy. In case you were wondering. Ahem.
So, um, if you’re in the market for some Super Mario, I have no idea how I happened to discover that Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Brothers Brawl are both now marked down to $43.99 at Amazon. That’s not a huge discount, but these games are still too new to be discounted most places, so if you’re in the market, it’s not a bad price. (Don’t forget that you can use Bill Me Later to save even more money, and if you’d rather not actually be billed later, just purchase gift certificates, first, and then select BML and use your coupon, but then pay your balance with the gift certificates. Very sneaky.)
What can I say—I have a soft spot for Mario. I still remember when Atari Donkey Kong was the pinnacle of awesomeness.
Friday, don’t fail me now
Have I mentioned that I’m doing a panel at the Decatur Book Festival tomorrow? Because I am. I forgot to mention it? Hmmm. I also forgot to figure out what to wear. Whoops! I guess I have today cut out for me. (Atlanta folks—please come say hi if you’re at the festival! Feel free to email me for details.)
But right now—before I go bang around in my closet and give up and head to TJ Maxx—it’s time for the Amazon Friday Sale.
Now, I’m not suggesting that you buy this hand truck as a romantic birthday gift, or anything, but they’re mighty handy things to have around.
Personally, I find herbs pretty easy to grow on my windowsill or out on my deck, but I’ll still confess to being intrigued by this AeroGrow AeroGarden. Who spends $100+ on growing herbs, though??
Oh, look—something to drive your dog insane. Can I fill it with candy and give it to my kids…?
Mini book lights! $7.99 and eligible for the 4-for-3 promotion—great stocking stuffer!
And there’s… ummm… a bunch of other stuff, too. I have to go look at my shoes, now. Hee.
Also of note, today:
- Threadless further reduced over 100 of their designs to just $9 apiece, so if you were on the fence, now’s the time to buy.
- Here’s a printable Walgreens coupon for $10 off $40 that’s good today or tomorrow only.
- Kohls has issued more good-for-anyone codes! Use FREE25SHIP to ship your $25+ order for free, today and tomorrow only. That’ll stack with KCSAVE10 for 10% off, too. (If you have a Kohls’ card, use MVC4441 for free shipping on any order, combined with TAKE15 for 15% off.)
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Better savings, plus a bonus
If you’re not yet a customer over at ING, there’s lots of reasons to open an account there. The interest rate is a lot higher than you’re likely to find at your local bank (even at a credit union), and it’s simple enough to link it up to your local account for easy access.
Moreover, they often have special codes for free money. Yep, free money! Right now, for example, use code EL542 to get $25 just for opening an Electric Orange checking account. It’s not exactly a sack of money, but it’s $25 more than you have right now.
