Price adjustment, please

Pretty Regan writes:

Would it be possible for you to post a list of stores that offer price adjustments? I only know of one that does this: Gap. Keep your receipt and, if the prices drops in the next 14 days, they’ll refund the difference. But they can’t be the only ones that do this, right?

You’re absolutely right—Gap is not the only store that does this.

Unfortunately, no, I can’t post a list. And I can’t post a list because as soon as I did, it would be outdated five minutes later. The thing about retail establishments is that they can pretty much do whatever they want, provided that their policy is spelled out, somewhere. That also means they can change it as often as they like. read more…

Time to get digital

Hey, guess what’s coming up. That’s right! Father’s Day! Wouldn’t now be a great time to drag your father into the current century? (Not my dad, of course. He’s totally hip. By which I mean that my stepmother does the dragging.)

Anyway, if you have one of those dads whose still using a film camera because those digital ones are “too confusing,” have I got the deal for you. (Alternatively, this is a great bundle for a graduate, or an older child who’s been begging for a digital set-up.) Okay, check it out: Brookstone has this Sony Digital Camera and Printer Set marked down to just $199. There’s a $15 shipping charge, but because you’re so gorgeous, let me help you out with that. Through the end of May, use coupon code AF7MAY to take $15 off your $150+ order. If you’re buying the camera bundle, that’s free shipping, right there. And if you’re buying even more, use AF9MAY for $30 off $300+, instead.

No need to thank me.

Battery back-up, small and cheap

How intriguing—Black and Decker makes something called the Pocket Power Battery Backup Pack, and it can be used to run and/or recharge your hand-held electronics when you find yourself in a jam. It’s currently just $10 (down from the list price of $49.99) with free shipping at Buy.com, which sort of makes it a no-brainer.

Then again, if I had any brains, I wouldn’t forget to charge my phone all the time, right? (Don’t answer that.)

Psssst. . . more Amazon toy deals

A few more 60% off goodies you might like, in addition to the ones from the other day (most of which are still available, by the way):

Crayola Model Magic Fusion Structures Solid Pack Flying Dutchman Ship for $4.80.
Chalkworks Neon Art Drawing Board for $6.
Lite-Brite FX Flash Art for $10 (these were marked down earlier this year and very popular as a gift for adults, by the way).
Sesame Street Giant Floor Pad Activity Set for $6.

If you’re stocking the gift closet, poke around. Some of the deals just take a little patience to sniff out.

Saturday deals

Gooooooood Saturday morning! I have a few deals to pass along before I run out the door, filled with renewed vigor and a decision to live! (There’s nothing quite like the first few “human again” days after being sick, huh?)

Don’t forget that you have until May 18th, 2008, to take 50% off your order at Restaurant.com with coupon code CUISINE. That’s $25 of dining for just $5, and besides—all the cool kids are doing it.

Right now Coldwater Creek is offering $10 off all their crop pants, automatically. And through May 20th, 2008, you can use coupon code WXP2134 for $25 off your $100+ order.

DisneyShopping.com is offering free shipping on your $75+ order with coupon code SHIP75 through May 31st, 2008.

Over at Overstock, take 10% off all memory foam and get $1 shipping through that there link, all weekend long. Or, take $15 off your $200+ purchase through that there link.

Buy 1 Get 2 Free at Puritan’s Pride is back, so you can stock up on their vitamins and supplements for cheap. Free shipping on orders of $100+, too.

Through the end of May, enjoy $20 towards a future Amazon purchase when you spend $99+ on select Pampers/Luvs products. If you’re buying diapers anyway, take a look at their prices on the economy packs; between their regular markdowns and the rebate, you could clean up.

That should keep you busy for a bit, no? Enjoy!

The last Friday of the school year

Oh, I know many of you still have school for another month. But the weirdest most awesome thing about school in the south is that it ends in May! Like, next week! And I will not be missing getting up at 6:00 every darn day, nope. I think I’m celebrate my last school Friday with a little… Amazon Friday Sale!

Um, in case you need some underwear in jail? (Oh, it’s a bikini bottom. Nevermind.)

Man, if I had this elliptical trainer I would… uh… probably hang clothes on it, like I did my last elliptical trainer.

It’s a backpack… and a baby carrier. Kinda cool. (Note that the red is marked down more than the blue.)

If you can’t decide between a blender and a food processor… get both! The Cuisinart Duet is ideal for killing two birds with one stone (or for people without a lot of storage space), and $49.99 for a refurb is a steal.

Cheap, multipurpose wedding gift alert. (Because who doesn’t like bread? Communists, that’s who.)

I’ve never felt the need for a separate food steamer, but the reviews are incredible and at $24.99 I’m wondering if maybe I’m doing it wrong. (For starters, the picture is of lobster tails. Definitely haven’t ever made those.)

This chair just hit an all-time price low ($100 cheaper than it was when it was a Gold Box deal!), and when I look at it all I can see is curling up with a good book and a cup of tea. Is that wrong?

The very idea of fleece sheets makes me sweat, but if you live in a cold climate, this is the time to snap these up, when they’re dirt cheap. Put ’em away for next year.

Who needs an office chair?

Mmmmmm… Larabars. Don’t forget that you can choose “Subscribe & Save” for an additional 15% off, then cancel it afterwards to avoid repeat orders.

Have a wonderful Friday, everyone!

I know folks have had mixed opinions about their clothing, but I’ve bought a ton of stuff there for my kids and have been very pleased with all of it. The boys’ clothing in particular has been a pleasant surprise. Then again, I’ve come to expect very little from boys’ clothing in general.

Go! Shop! Lots of stuff already on sale, too.
