The case of Pinky Flipperfoot
My daughter is turning ten in a few weeks, and I don’t know if you know this about prepubescent children, but their feet, good lord, their feet want to get a jump on that whole growth spurt thing.
This is annoying in any event, because suddenly the kid needs new shoes more often than she needs new underwear, but it is particularly annoying for a young girl because the difference in shoe styles between kids and juniors is, shall we say, extreme. As soon as she passed the size 4 mark, it seemed that retailers wanted me to either pay twice as much or buy her hooker gear. And you know how I feel about either of those options.
My little girl still wants pink sandals. Pink sandals she can run and jump and play in. Which is why I still pink puffy heart LL Bean, and why I was ecstatic this morning to find that their pink cool wave sandals are on sale for just $6.95 in sizes 3-6. Use coupon code 3001059 for free shipping, too.
Pinky Flipperfoot is going to be thrilled.
In case you were hoping to get nothing done today
It seems like it’s been a very long time since they had one (but maybe I just missed a couple)… nevertheless, today they’re having a Woot Off!
Different products, all day long. Refresh early, refresh often.
(I heart me some Woot.)
For Mother’s Day, or just Cookie Day
Hey, there’s another coupon out for David’s Cookies, which is awesome because 1) it’s a discount on a gift everyone can use, 2) they’re offering free shipping, too, and 3) cookies!
Ahem. Anyway, just use code MOM15B to take 15% off your order. You have until May 7th to order for guaranteed Mother’s Day delivery, but I bet your mom would like some cookies right now.
Or maybe it’s just that I would like some cookies right now. Hard to know.
The Want Not Review: Apple iPhone
So after the big deal on iPhones from the other day, alert reader Kristine came back this week and said:
Ok, Mir, we need a big fat review of your iPhone. What do you love? What do you hate? What do you wish it did better? Is it worth waiting for the next release?? Can’t wait to hear!!
And to Kristine I say: Sorry, I’d love to tell you all about my iPhone, but I am far too busy making out with it to discuss it right now.
Only joking, of course. Right now my daughter is busy making out with it, so I can talk for a few minutes…. read more…
Pamper your pooch
I no longer have a dog, because I have children, and they are annoying enough. (I kid! I love dogs! Other people’s dogs!) Anyway, I know that a lot of people treat their dogs like beloved children, and I think that’s great except for when it comes to wear little doggie sweaters.
If you want to feed your dog premium food and treats, and you can afford to do so, I say more power to you. But if you want to feed your dog premium food and treats and think you can’t afford to, I say look over here: Right now various Dogswell treats are up to 54% off at Amazon. This stuff is all-natural and full of holistic goodness.
In fact, it’s probably healthier than what I’m feeding my kids. Maybe I’ll buy some of this for them.
I’m always ready for new shoes
Summer’s coming, you know. Even if it doesn’t feel like it right now, I promise that it is. And what better way to get ready than to pick up some summer footwear for the family? Right now at Shoebuy you can use coupon code GETREADY08 to take $20 off your $75+ purchase in sandals, athletic shoes, or apparel.
I mean, unless you like pulling the kids’ last year’s sandals out of the closet and saying “Oh… that‘s what that smell was.”
Healthy, yet?
There’s just a few days left to enjoy the big savings at Puritan’s Pride, so if you need vitamin or supplements or eye of newt, get on it. (Just kidding. They’re all out of eye of newt.) You only have through March 31st, 2008 to Buy 1, Get 2 Free of Doctor’s Trust Vitamins, and to get free shipping on orders of $50+
.
You have been looking a little peaked lately, you know. I mean, still pretty and everything, but take care of yourself, okay?
Free shipping on $75+ is back
The title says it all; for a limited time, enjoy free shipping on your $75+ order at Kohls automatically, whether or not you’re a Kohls card holder.
There’s currently a big two-day sale on, now, but we all know there’ll be another sale along after that one, so, whatever. If you need something, it’s as good a time to shop as any, I suppose.
(Side note: With the rising cost of gas, I find myself becoming unreasonably excited about these free shipping deals. When you look at the savings in the context of saving yourself a trip to the store? It really adds up.)
Cool tunes, dude
Through March 31st, 2008, Buy.com customers can take 6% off non-download music purchases by going through that link right there. If you’ve had your eye on a certain CD, now might be the time to swoop in and snap it up.
I find this puzzling, as all of my music comes from my husband’s (vast) CD collection or iTunes, but I hear kids today do still go out and purchase CDs. Oh well—might as well get ’em on sale, then.
I’ll be right over with some butter
There is little in this world I love more than fresh bread. (Except chocolate. And bacon. And possible the smell of a baby’s head. But other than that, I mean.) I try to keep my bread baking to a minimum because I will happily devour all I bake, but I love the process, too—kneading dough is a great way to get out frustration!
Lots of my friends tell me they’d love to bake their own bread, but simply don’t have time. I get that. And thus enters the market for breadmakers, bringing with it a huge array of choices and options. Looking for a sturdy basic breadmaker? How about this Sunbeam programmable breadmaker from Circuit City? It’s currently $37.99 with free shipping. (For comparison purposes: The same model is $44.38 at Amazon.) This one isn’t quite as sexy as that big Breadman we kept seeing deals on a while back, but it has great reviews, will get the job done, and the price is certainly right.
