In case you missed the deals on Friday. . .
… you can always take advantage of the Kitchen and Home One-Day Sale at Amazon, which is sort of like a Friday-Sale-redux on home stuff.
They’ve got this cool weather station (which I think a commenter brought up on Friday) for just $15.99, which, really, is a small price to pay to not have the children argue that really, it’s shorts weather, they’re sure of it!
Who wants a cheap, refurbished KitchenAid mixer? (Me, me, I do!)
Ooooh, the Breadman TR875 is back on the cheap—just $69.99 with free shipping. Awesome reviews on this one, and I know a lot of folks expressed remorse over missing it, last time. Now’s your chance!
I think these rapid beverage chillers are sort of ridiculous, but if you had your heart set on one, that’s the lowest price I’ve seen. It’d make a nice gift for someone who has everything, I guess.
Heehee—I almost bought these cookie cutters at Christmas and then didn’t. They’d make an excellent filler item in your order, now, and who doesn’t want headless/limbless gingerbread people??
I have no idea if these knives are any good. I just desperately love the glass block (and the 70% off price tag).
I’m also in love with this wooden Dansk tray, which is marked down to $24.99 and eligible for the 4-for-3 promotion. (Have a slew of weddings coming up? It’s an elegant and practical gift that will match any decor!)
Cheap king size sheets (in a decent thread count, even).
Been on the lookout for a serger deal? How about this Brother 1034D for $199.99 with free shipping? It’s extremely highly rated, and while Amazon’s claim that it’s half off is a bit inflated (as per usual), it’s still close to $50 cheaper than you’ll find it anywhere else. There aren’t as many reviews on this Euro-Pro 534 DX, but it’s on big sale as well.
Wow. This is almost too much excitement for me, on a Monday. I may need to go lie down for a minute.
March comes in like a lion (who wants to dine out)
Hey, guess what! No, really, guess! No, I haven’t lost those pesky five pounds, but thanks for mentioning it. Hmph.
No, it’s Restaurant.com discount time, again!
Remember that some of the participating restaurants in the program only release a certain number of certificates each month; that means that sometimes you need to buy as close to the beginning of the month as possible, to have a chance to get in on those establishments who limit certificates this way. Today, in fact, would be a good day to jump on it, because you can use coupon code TASTY through March 5th, 2008, to take 50% off your order.
That’s a $25 dining certificate for just $5 out-of-pocket. Dude, you don’t even have to be good at math to understand those savings. What are you waiting for?
Membership has its discounts
Are you a Borders Rewards member? If you have a local store, it’s worth joining—it’s free, and you get special perks, dontchaknow. For example, today and tomorrow you can print out this coupon and save 40% off the list price of any DVD. Limit of three movies per customer, and does not apply to boxed sets containing more than three discs. Still, I’m sure there’s a few great deals available.
And yes, you could walk in, sign up for Borders Rewards, and then go shop with your coupon. It’s not even that sneaky.
Heads up for Discover Card holders
Don’t forget that Discover is running targeted 5% cash back promos all year long, but they do that sneaky little thing where you have to manually sign up to opt in.
How do I know this? Why, if you guessed it’s because I bought plane tickets for the entire family last month before remembering to sign up for this quarter’s travel bonuses, you are correct! (And I am an idiot.) Ahem. Anyway.
You can go enroll for the next quarter right now. It starts in April, and gives a 5% bonus on home and fashion purchases. Why yes, that does mean you can buy more shoes!
Saturday deals
Gooood morning! Here’s a few deals to brighten up your weekend:
Stock up on the stuff you need for 10% less right now at Office Depot; the savings will apply to everything except technology. Coupon code 76902528 will also take $30 off your $150+ order; I’m not sure if the two offers can be combined or not.
10% must be the magic number, today—you can also save 10% at Disney Shopping right now by using coupon code MARSITE10 through March 10th, 2008.
Today (March 1st) only, get free shipping automatically when you spend $75+ at Kohls.
The Overstock weekend coupon is $30 off your $500+ purchase through that there link. I’m pretty sure you can’t spend $500 at Overstock unless you buy one of everything, but who knows. Maybe you need one of everything!
You have until March 6th to take advantage of the buy 2, get 3 free at Puritan’s Pride sale. If you don’t stock up, I’ll send my mom over to lecture you for not taking your vitamins. She’ll do it, too.
There’s a new Coldwater Creek coupon available—use code PXA1114 to take $20 off of your $80+ order.
I know I haven’t mentioned it in a while, but you are remembering to check the Lands’ End On The Counter deals each Saturday, right? The prices go down every couple of days, but the good stuff sells out quick so you have to decide whether you’re willing to wait and risk missing it.
Of course, you could always just spend the day doing something with your family, or something. That’d be good, too. I guess.
Haaaaaappy Leap Day!
Hey, it’s February 29th, and that means that you should do something special today. (It only happens every 4 years, so why not?) Of course, a good place to start would be the Amazon Friday Sale.
I don’t know what a normal person needs a Dremel kit for, but my husband assures me that it’s important. So important, in fact, that one year he got two for Christmas. Now he can be like Edward Scissorhands… er, Dremelhands… um, clearly I have no idea where I was going with this.
Likewise, I’m sure I’m supposed to understand why this Leatherman Surge is a great deal at $58, but all I see is a grown-up boy scout pocketknife. Oh well.
I’ve often considered buying one of these car jump-starters because it seems like such a great idea. Then I remember that I’ve only ever had a dead battery once in my entire life. But if you live and/or drive out in the middle of nowhere regularly, 47% off is sort of tempting.
Here’s a deal on a full size memory foam. (In theory I love the idea of memory foam, but in practice I can’t help feeling that it’s simply space-age quicksand.)
Hey, I think I found the world’s fanciest rice cooker!
Ummmm… ewwwwwww?
(Bonus Leap Day goodness: Orders of $29+ get free shipping over at Linens N Things from 12 – 4 p.m. EST today only.)
Have a fabulous Leap Day, my friends. I plan to celebrate the day by pretending I’m still 29, myself….
Buy Bye Sale
Ooooh, the deals are flying fast and furious over at Macy’s through the weekend; check out their Buy Bye Sale to save up to 75%.
So many shiny things to look at….
Free McNuggets today
McDonald’s is giving out free 4-piece chicken McNuggets today, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. I don’t know why. And I’ll state for the record that I don’t believe McNuggets to be actual food, but that I do occasionally let my children have them, anyway. Hypocrite, thy name is Mom.
Today and tomorrow it looks like you can get a free McSkillet Burrito with the purchase of any medium or large drink, too. (Also not food. Whatever.)
Find your local golden arches here, if you’re so inclined.
I’ve got teeth on the brain
Have I mentioned that my son is about to get a mouthful of metal? We’re not hoping to turn him into a cyborg, or anything… he’s getting two palate expanders, and later, braces. My daughter is getting her braces within the next year.
(Um, shop through my links, please. Often. Ha!)
Anyhoo, what do I see every time I take them in to the orthodontist or the dentist? That’s right—I see a great big Sonicare display, assuring me that an expensive Sonicare toothbrush will get their teeth clean even behind all of that metal, while regular toothbrushes mean that after I pay for their braces I can also pay for all the fillings they’ll need. (It doesn’t say exactly that on the display. But something close!)
Needless to say, they don’t have a Sonicare. I don’t let them floss with $20 bills, either. But lookie here: Kohls has the Sonicare A4100 toothbrush for just $50.99 (add it to your bag to see the price). Use code MVCCHARGE15 with your Kohls charge to take off another 15%, or NEW9914 to take 10% off if you don’t have a Kohls card. Shipping is just $.99, or use code MVC4242 for free shipping with your Kohls charge (it stacks with one of the other coupons).
With tax, my total was $47.43… a few bucks cheaper than Amazon’s price. (Or it would’ve been, if I’d bought it. I didn’t, of course, because I’m a terrible mother.)
Deals at Office Max
If you’ll be hitting Office Max (the real store, not the online one) this week, don’t forget to print out some bonus coupons before you go.
Pretty reader Sue, who was kind enough to send this along, pointed out that coupon to get the 12-pack of retractable Sharpies for $2 is pretty smokin’. (Limit 2 per customer.) (And she may not have said smokin’, but let’s not mince words here.)
