Keep the dust mites out of your ears
Got allergies? My doctor recommends all of those hypoallergenic mattress and pillow covers, because supposedly they keep the mites from infecting your bedding.
(Now there’s a cozy thought for the morning, hmmm? Dust mites! Living in your bed!)
Anyway, a rich drug company wants to give you a free pillowcase just for filling out their survey. Consider it doing your part. Or just getting free stuff. Whichever.
Risk insanity, get a free toy
(How’s that for an enticing thought?)
Listen, you couldn’t pay me to go into a Toys ‘R’ Us store if I didn’t have to. I just find toy stores scary places, in general, filled with a lot of brightly-colored plastic and dozens of shrieking children whose parents seem to have vaporized. But that’s me.
If you’re braver than I am, you can print yourself out a coupon and go get a free toy within the next few days, no purchase necessary. Good luck.
I swear, I’ll shut up about costumes soon
Okay, I know I posted this just a couple of days ago, but the deal got better, so I’m posting it again:
Right now most Halloween costumes at DisneyShopping are 60% off, and today you can stack coupons 3699 (for 15% off) and COSTUMESHIP (for free shipping), as well.
If your kid has been dying for a particular costume that you thought was too much money, this may be your chance to be a hero.
Restaurant.com time again
(Because it’s been, what, a week or so since the last one? Look into my eeeeeeyes… you are getting very huuuuuuungryyyyyy….)
So anyway, if you want to get yourself some cheap dining certificates over at Restaurant.com, now through October 14th you can use coupon code PASSPORT to get 50% off your order. That means $25 certificates for just $5, and $10 certificates for $2! New restaurants are added all the time, so don’t forget to check in every now and then.
When I snap my fingers, you will awake completely refreshed, but probably in need of a snack. Sorry about that.
Redo your wardrobe on a budget
Let’s talk about clothes, baby!
Kristin writes:
Hello pretty Mir! I’ve got a bit of a dilemma I hope you might be able to help me with. I lost a pretty significant amount of weight this year. Hooray, right? Yes, mostly, except for one thing – I quite literally have nothing to wear! Winter is approaching and my wardrobe consists of two pairs of jeans, a handful sweaters, a few of pairs of slacks to wear to work and one really rockin’ dress I bought myself as a reward. I need to do some major shopping and haven’t tripped over any buckets of money lately. I can’t wait for the end of season clearances like I usually would because I will very soon have to leave the house naked. I need pretty much everything – casual weekend clothes, business casual clothes to wear to work and a few cute things for date nights and the like. I not a clothing snob, but I don’t want everything I own to come from Old Navy, either. I generally prefer to spend a little more on something that is going to last. Also, I’ve worked hard and want to show off a bit! What does one do when faced with having to replace an entire wardrobe quickly and on a budget? Help!
Have I mentioned you’re so very pretty?
Thank you!
Congratulations on your weight loss, Kristin! That’s an awesome accomplishment, and you definitely deserve a fabulous wardrobe to go with your new bod. read more…
Radiohead’s new album for free
Apparently Radiohead has decided to let people name their own price for downloading their latest album, and that includes naming $0 as your price.
Here is where you should insert the standard disclaimer about how if you really like their music and want to support them, you should pay for it. However, free is free. Go here and keep clicking through to the download.
(If you have no idea what I’m talking about but you have a teen with an iPod, you may be able to score yourself some cool points with this one.)
They had me at “butterburger”
I don’t have a Culver’s restaurant near me, but apparently today they’re offering their famous “butterbugers” for just $1. Now I sort of wonder what sort of world I’m missing out on.
Maybe there’s one near you and you have a craving for some buttered cow today. (Wow, that didn’t sound right….)
Margaritaville
I don’t see much in the JC Penney Wednesday Deals today, but they do have this margarita set for $9.99, if you’ve been looking for such a thing…. (Don’t forget that if you ship it to your local store for pick-up, you can avoid shipping charges.)
Clean your screen
C’mon… you and I both know you can barely see through all of those fingerprints. And you keep meaning to clean the screen, but then you remember that you’re probably supposed to use some sort of special cleaner on it, and you don’t have any, and you mean to go buy some, but then you see something shiny and get distracted until the next time you notice that really, the screen needs cleaning….
Another costume option
Still looking for a Halloween costume? Dreading heading to the picked-over stores? Over at eToys they have hundreds of costumes, many with free shipping still available. It might be worth checking out….
