Now I can find out what the fuss is about

I like to cook. I am a seat-of-the-pants cook, which means I often throw open the fridge, behold the ingredients within, and then type some of those things into Google along with “recipe” and take whatever it gives me and cross my fingers as I head back to the kitchen.

Oftentimes I’ll be cruising along with a recipe and it will say “line the pan with parchment paper” and I’ll think “Parchment paper? Who has that laying around?” And I continue on without it. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it, uh, doesn’t.

But rather that just buy some parchment paper, being me, I’ll first try some for free. That way I’ll know whether I should buy some. Or something.

So beary cute

I just died from the cuteness. Am dead now.

Check out this infant bear fleece from LL Bean. Four colors, newborn sizes (0-3 months and 3-6), and just $9! Be still my heart.

Make it sweeter: Use coupon code 7420440 for free shipping.

(Note to anyone I know personally who may be having a baby this winter: Um, you don’t want one of these. Nope. Look away. Look over there! Something shiny!)

Gettin’ geeky with it

Have you been looking for a deal on memory? I have no idea what sorts of devices take the new micro-SD cards, because I’m not quite that geeky, but I do know that if I needed another SD card—say, for my digital camera—and I could get something like the Kingston 2GB micro SD Secure Digital Card w/ Full Size SD Adapter for under $22 shipped, I’d probably go ahead and get that, because then if later I bought something requiring one of those tiny little cards, I’d be all set.

Also, I paid more than this for the last 1GB SD card I bought, which was just a plain ol’ card, no micro or adapter involved. I am going over here to sulk in the corner, now.

Howzabout some free pearls?

Alert (and pretty; don’t forget pretty!) reader Jamie noticed that over at Overstock, you can get a free pearl necklaceicon right now. And it looks like the O-Day thing is still going on (for another few hours, anyway), which means shipping is just a buck.

Are they top-quality pearls? Probably not. Will they be worth a dollar? I think so. Enjoy! (Thanks, Jamie!)

More free shipping

Through the end of September, you can still get free shipping on your $75+ order at Smartbargains through that there link.

They just sent me an email claiming that they’re into the final days for markdowns on a bunch of stuff, and I’m trying to work up some enthusiasm, really, but after those markdowns expire there will be something else, I’m pretty sure. Regardless, I only shop there when they run free shipping, so maybe someone will be happy to have the link.

Ship it for free, two days only

Hey, it’s not even a holiday (I don’t think…), but Eddie Bauer has decided that today and tomorrow (September 24th and 25th) you can ship your entire order for free using coupon code SEPTFS. Very nice.

Just pay attention, because this code will only work in the main store (not the outlet). There’s plenty of sale deals in the main store, though.

Clearance is one of my favorite words

Ooooh, I just noticed there’s some great stuff over in the clearance section over at Red Envelope. Peasants like me can’t afford to shop there at regular price, of course, but the sales often yield some very nice deals.

No free shipping code, this time, I’m afraid… but you can use coupon code COUPCAB15 to take 15% off your order. That should help.

Check out the photo totes. Those have “Christmas gift for Grandma” written all over them.
