Gimme a WOOT!

Man, they haven’t had one of these in a while… but it looks like today is a Woot-Off day.

Deals will be rotating through at various intervals depending on how they sell, and even if you don’t want to buy anything, it’s worth checking out just for the hilarious ad copy. (When I grow up, I want to go write for Woot.)

Heck, let’s just call today free shipping day

For two days only, (November 15/16), Linens ‘n Things is offering free shipping on all “gifts.” (You’ll have to go look around to see what qualifies.

Sweeten the deal by taking 20% off of one item with coupon code 116700000001.

They have digital picture frames in stock, which aren’t cheap, but 20% off helps and they are perfect gifts for doting grandparents.

Save some money on your popcorn

For those of you who missed this deal and are still hankering for that amazing gourmet popcorn, here’s a small consolation:

Through noon on November 16th, you can order their popular 6-pack sampler and receive free shipping with coupon code E1113S2T. That’s a savings of 20%.

Honestly, I never would’ve believed it before I tasted it, but the Dale & Thomas stuff lives up to their claims. I’ve never had better popcorn in my life. It is very, very evil.

(Thanks to everyone who alerted me to this deal… there are a lot of you on the D&T mailing list!)

Get Thomas for $2.99

If you have a Thomas the Tank Engine fan, you know that the trains themselves—the little wooden trains that fit in the palm of your hand, the cracks in the sofa, and the empty pop-tart boxes on the floor (okay, maybe that one’s just us)—cost around $10 or $12 apiece.

So why not scoop up Thomas for free and pay just $2.99 for shipping? Use promotional code 159241 to redeem this offer.

If we didn’t already have three Thomases I’d be all over this. But I do have my limits, occasionally.

It’s good customer service, if you can get it

Have you ever had a problem with your order at Amazon? Probably you went through the site to contact them via email, and hopefully you got the help you needed. I find that they’re pretty good about addressing issues via email in a fairly timely manner.

But sometimes, wouldn’t you rather talk to a human on the phone? I know I would. Have you ever tried to find their phone number on the site? They would rather you email them, so they can deal with you on their time, in their terms. However, if you do manage to get customer service on the phone, they’re wonderful. Very responsive, courteous—all the things you wish for in customer relations. (I ordered a pair of pillowcases over a month ago that are now showing as shipping in late January; I was able to get them to send me something comparable, instead, and cancel the previous order.)

So. Lean in a little closer. Amazon’s phone number is 888-280-4331. Tuck it away for reference, or at least remember that you can search for it here on the site. Particularly during the holiday shopping season, it’s a useful number to have.

Free shipping, today only

Today, Wednesday, November 15th, you can get free shipping on any size order at Drugstore.com. They normally have free shipping on your $25+ order, but with this you can just buy a tube of chapstick and get it shipped for free.

Not that I’m suggesting you do that.

Unless your lips are really chapped.

Update: When they announced this offer last night, it looked like it would be open to everyone, but it has either been pulled or restricted. Hmph. Sorry about that.
