I picked it out just for you
Remember how I said that I hardly ever have to actually buy souvenirs for my kids when I travel? This trip did not fail to live up to swag expectations.
My children are oohing and aahing over the t-shirts, rulers with embedded caculators, fancy pens, and post-it notes. Oh, and the nasty-tasting but whimsical plane-shaped crackers from the airline. All free. They’re happy, and so’s my budget.
I’m setting aside the saved money for the kids’ therapy funds, natch. Someday they’ll need to spend some time working through their mother’s cheapness. So, for posterity: Mama loves you, kids. More than bargains, I swear.
Beep beep!
One of the fabulous vendors here at BlogHer is passing out a discount coupon, and it turns out that the site in question has a lot of very neat stuff.

Friday, all day, even in California
The time change has me all turned around and confused, but I’m pretty sure it’s Friday all over the U.S. and Canada right now. Isn’t it?
(You in the back, hush. It’s not nice to make fun of the mentally impaired.)
While I suffer for my craft (translation: sit here at BlogHer surrounded by some of the most amazing women writers of our time, eating free food and performing Vulcan mind melds), you should check out the Friday Sale at Amazon. If you want to.
If you’re here at BlogHer? For heaven’s sake, come say hi!
Charity begins at. . . Starbucks?
Good morning! This little tidbit is something I learned from Carmen yesterday, and she had bags of coffee to prove it, so it must be true.
Apparently Starbucks takes the bottom cup of beans or so from every industrial-sized bag they use and wrap them up and give them out rather than repackaging and reselling then. Some Starbucks’ leave them sitting on the counter, some you have to ask for them. But what you’ll get is a nice little package of enough beans to brew a pot of coffee. For free.
Starbucks, I hereby officially repent of referring to you as the Evil Empire.
It’s O-Day! Woohoo!
[Insert your own “O-Day” joke here. I’ll wait. Okay, are you done now? Was it good for you?]
It’s O-Day again, and that means a special 12-hour promotion from Overstock. Shop Overstock through this link to take 13% off your entire order. Offer good from now (noon MST) until midnight MST; that’s 2 PM to 2 AM for your east coasters, and 11 AM to 11 PM for your west coasters.
You cannot resist the lure of O-Day.

Woof.
(Have I mentioned what time it is in California right now? California, where I currently am? Who’s gonna bring me some coffee?)
Posting will be light for a few days
As some of you know, I’m now out in California for BlogHer, and between the time change and the complete inability to stop talking to and licking people, my posting schedule will be a bit light.
Today’s tip: Here at the Hyatt, when you try to connect to the internet, it takes you to a login page where a credit card is needed. I was grumbling about it, but all set to fork over the cash, when Jenn pointed out that surely conference attendees would be granted free wireless. She went up the front desk and asked about it, and she was right! We were given a special password to get in without paying. Awesome.
Lesson learned; always ask.
Sweepstakes and free toothpaste
Check out this contest over at Sensodyne and don’t forget to register for a free sample while you’re there.
I like Sensodyne. Well, I don’t love the price, but I do like being able to eat cold foods without experiencing that ice-pick-in-the-gums sensation, which is what happens when I don’t use my sensitive teeth toothpaste.
I’m sensitive; I can’t help it. I’m a delicate flower. Stop laughing.
Good morning! Tea?
Although I would really like to start off each and every day with a gigantic mug of strong coffee, my nerves and my children don’t seem to feel that I need quite that much caffeine. Go figure.
And so I have recently switched to green tea, which is chock full of antioxidants and other good stuff, and has considerably less caffeine than coffee (or even black tea, for that matter).
That’s why I immediately told Bridgett how pretty she was when she sent me the link to these freebies from Yogi Tea. I got the green tea sampler, but there are four different packs to choose from. Surely there’s something that tickles your tastebuds… especially since it’s our very favorite price.
