Bring me a shrubbery
If you don’t love the mastery that is Monty Python, I’m not sure that we can still be friends. And if you don’t get just a little bit excited—but don’t worry, ’tis only a flesh wound—over this all-time-low price on this Monty Python and the Holy Grail Blu-ray of $6.98 at Amazon, well, I bet you don’t even know the air-speed velocity of a coconut-laden swallow.
Sheesh.
As long as you’re stuck inside…
… oh, you’re not stuck inside? I thought everyone was trapped like us today. Hostage to a dusting of snow! Please send help!! And eggs!
Oh, sorry about that. Just a little cabin fever. Ahem.
Anyway! If you’ve had your eye on something over at Vera Bradley, they’re offering automatic free shipping on every order, today only. There’s about a zillion (I may be exaggerating a little…) items in the Sale section, and especially if you’re looking at something small, skipping their normal shipping charge could save you a ton.
My only question is whether or not I can make Snow Day French Toast out of anything they’re selling.
False advertising, but good prices
Once again, I find myself disappointed. Children’s Place claims to be having their Semi-Annual Baby Sale, yet there are no babies available. Hmph.
Should you require clothing for your babies (or toddlers or children up to size 14), however, today would be a good day to shop there. Markdowns galore, plus free shipping on every order, plus you can use coupon code J6HT25HP for 25% off any order or code P6HT30HP for 30% off your order of $60+ EXTRAFORTY for an extra 40% off any order!
They’ve got winter coats—even their 3-in-1s—available for under $15. Yeah, I’m feeling bitter that my teens wear adult sizes.
Don’t get stuck without power
It may be a little late for today’s looming storm—though you could order online and pick up at your local store, if you wanted, though I don’t know if you could get it immediately—but today’s Buy of the Day at Home Depot is up to 40% off on four different generator models. The third option there is just $179, which isn’t bad for a little peace of mind if you need power backup.
Me, I’m still trying to figure out how to harness up the dogs to something so we can use all of the energy they generate. (What? It’s time they started pitching in around here. And you try telling me with a straight face that you don’t want to see a fridge powered by Shih Tzus.)
Have crock, will travel
Full disclosure: I own five crock pots. Don’t judge me. I use them all. (I really do!) They come in especially handy for Thanksgiving dinner prep, but I realize my deep and abiding love of all things slow cooker may not be entirely normal.
That said, if you’re only going to own one crock pot, I recommend springing for one that’s programmable. But if you already own a programmable one—or simply don’t feel the need for it, or can’t afford it—you might be interested in a great deal on one that’s not. And if you ever travel to potlucks or whatever, you definitely want one with a locking lid. So! Behold: Amazon has the Crock-Pot SCCPVL600S Cook’ N Carry 6-Quart Oval Manual Portable Slow Cooker available right now for just $23.99, its lowest price ever.
If you’ve been thinking about a backup crock, or one specifically for transporting, this is a great deal on a highly-rated model.
Fortunately, I already have one with a locking lid. Hear that sound? (It’s my family heaving a giant sigh of relief that I’m not buying another crock pot.)
Shop the Flash Sale
Get on over to Coldwater Creek before midnight—they’re running a Flash Sale with up to 85% off everything in the Outlet.
You can even browse by percentage off, and there’s hundreds of items in the 80%+ off section alone. (I see some gorgeous scarves for $3.99. Start your Christmas shopping!)
Get free shipping on any size order with coupon code AFLH517, too. You really can’t go wrong.
Today’s interesting bargain…
… is 6pm.com‘s bargain boutique on Coach footwear. Because when I think “Coach rain boots,” for example, I think bargain.
I approached today’s sale with deep suspicion, as someone who doesn’t see the point in purposefully paying hundreds of dollars to wear someone else’s advertising. But maybe all you’ve ever wanted is some Coach-logo-covered sneakers; I try not to judge. And they do have some beautiful boots and other items which are not covered in logos.
If that’s not your thing, they’ve also got a big Outerwear Blowout going on today—perfect for the next polar vortex.
Oatmeal on the go!
Let me just be clear up-front that I’m not a huge fan of instant oatmeal; oatmeal is easy to cook, and if you really want to know, I prefer steel-cut to rolled oats. That said, there are certainly times and places where the ease of little packets is welcomed. (See also: helpless teenagers.) Right now it looks like Amazon has nearly all of their Quaker Oatmeal packets marked down, and so for example, this 4-pack of 12-serving Original Flavor boxes is just $7.46 delivered if you buy via Subscribe & Save and have Amazon Mom for that additional 20% discount. That’s just about $.16/serving, which is hard to beat.
If you prefer the flavored kinds, those are on sale, too, but the Original is definitely the best deal (with the fewest additives). (These are good for food pantry donations, too, not just lazy kids or emergency in-your-desk-drawer breakfasts!)
The weather outside is frightful…
… but the patio deals are delightful! That’s right—if you can stomach looking at patio furniture while buried in the snow, right now Home Depot has a ton of outdoor furniture clearance going on, and that means huge discounts while you dream of a day warm enough to actually want this stuff.
Shipping is free on most items, and while they don’t have a huge variety of clearance stock, what they do have is 75% off. That kind of savings may just help keep you warm, right? Right.
A little something just for shipping
Been over to Silkies lately? They mostly sell things like tights and hosiery, but they also have some other accessories. Anyway, today you can use coupon code C527 to take $10 off your $10+ purchase. There are plenty of items right around $10; I was able to get a pair of slippers for just $5.49 shipped ($4.99 shipping, and they were $10.50 before the code).
It’s definitely worth checking out. Buy something small and you’ll just pay the shipping, which will be cheaper than the item itself. My kind of deal!
