Get a tablet deal in a flash
It’s time for another tablet Flash Sale over at CowBoom; that means rotating offerings of various tablets at deeply discounted prices, all day long. Free shipping, too.
I have yet to crack the code of how they rotate products at CowBoom in sales like this, so I can’t tell you how often they change. At the moment I see a pre-owned BlackBerry 16GB 7″ PlayBook for $90, though, so the prices are definitely worth checking out. While that deal may be gone by the time I hit “publish,” there’ll be plenty of others.
It’s always a good time for Chucks
Nobody show this one to my teenage daughter (a.k.a., She Who Is Queen Of All Chucks), but right now at Converse they not only have a ton of fantastic sneakers on sale (check out the DC Comics collection; love!), but you can also apply coupon code 30MORE on top of the sale prices to save an additional 30%.
Shipping is free if you spend $75+. It starts at about $6 if you don’t.
I… am too old for the Teen Titans ones, right? I mean, hypothetically?
You know you need new ink
What? Oh, I don’t mean a tattoo. (Though, hey, I don’t judge.) (Unless your tattoo contains a word that’s misspelled. Then I totally judge.) I’m talking about ink for your printer. You know how today’s marvelous inkjet printers run low on ink and then they refuse to even do things like scan because Hey! Low on ink! (Maybe that’s just my printer. Grrrr.)
Anyway, you’ll always find competitive pricing over at 123Inkjets, but today (Thursday, January 31st) only, you can also get free shipping with coupon code SHIPTODAY. Looks like it also gives you 15% off “compatible ink” and 10% off all other products, though it does exclude OEM items. And they have laser cartridges, too—not just inkjet stuff.
They couldn’t be easier to use, either; just find your brand, locate your printer model, and boom, there’s the product you need. Between their pricing, the discount, and the free shipping? I may have my printer back up and running until the next school project. (Oh, like your kids don’t run your printer out of ink for every science fair and whatnot. I’m certainly not the one doing all that printing.)
Read this if you’re gluten-free
Recently someone directed me to a gluten-free cinnamon roll recipe that used the flour mix from Better Batter, and the author raved so much about their products, I decided to buy some and test it out.
So let’s be honest: gluten-free is never as good as gluten-filled, particularly if you can still remember those blissful days of real bread (I can). Still, the Better Batter all-purpose flour mix is my new favorite. It contains pectin, which I’ve never seen before, and I think it must mimic the stick-together-ness of gluten better than even xanthan gum (which is also in there). Both of my gluten-eaters remarked—unprovoked!—on how awesome the cornbread I made with it was. It just results in a closer-to-the-real-stuff crumb, I think. Thumbs up from me.
They have a variety of products available in their online store, and they also have a rotating Deal of the Day, which is how I ended up trying the Pancake and Biscuit Mix in addition to the AP mix I bought. (I made biscuits per the box instructions, and they were… okay.) I can’t speak to their other offerings, but I can tell you I’m retiring my Pamela’s for Better Batter.
[Note: This is an unsolicited endorsement based on products I purchased with my own money, just in case that wasn’t clear.]
You know I love to get Lucky
How could I pass up a featured boutique at 6pm.com when it involves 70% off Lucky Brand? Answer: I can’t. I love all things Lucky, and I love ’em even more when the prices are this low.
I mean, yes, they have cute tops and funky jewelry, but they also have jeans that fit those of us who actually have curves in the hips and thighs. Just sayin’.
K-cup Nirvana? Close enough!
I don’t own a Keurig, myself, but I know plenty of people who do; their feedback about it seems to fall into one of two camps. Either it’s “This is the greatest/most convenient/downright magical invention ever” or it’s “Finding a good deal on K-cups is a never-ending slog.” Sometimes it’s both! Because people are multifaceted, like that.
This morning I got an email from eagle-eyed (and pretty!) regular reader Crissy, who said:
Last month, some relatives visited and it was lovely. They brought their own K-Cups to use in our Keurig because we are All Very Particular. Some were left here, maybe accidentally? Anyway, the other day I ran out of my usual coffee flavor and, for some reason, my auto-shipment from Green Mountain Coffee had not yet arrived. I was so bummed. But I remembered the left-behinds and went rifling through them to find Grove Square French Vanilla Cappuccino. I had never heard of it, but I thought it was worth a try.
Oh. It was good. Really good. (I mean, not like Starbucks good, but like, those gas station coffee machines good. And I kindof like those!) It was already sweetened and tasted great straight from the brewer – no doctoring necessary.
Crissy went on to say that she’d gone to Amazon and was pleasant surprised to find that the current price comes out to about $.40/cup—a good deal for those pricey little beasties. There are two other coffee flavors available on that page as well, if you prefer Caramel or Hazelnut, plus I discovered that Grove Square Hot Chocolate currently runs just $.39/cup if you buy the 24-pack, and the Grove Square Caramel Apple Cider is just $.33/cup, with the spiced Apple Cider through that link dropping as low as $.19/cup (and all of these prices are before Subscribe & Save, which will give you free shipping and an additional 5% off).
Basically, Grove Square has frou-frou K-cups available at a good price. The end. Thanks, Crissy!
Beauty-full savings
This deal is a classic example of how, if you do your research, you can score significant savings. Let’s take a look:
So, the deal is that right now at Soap.com, you can use coupon code BEAUTY30 for 30% off a single item in the Beauty category (that is: Hair Care, Bath/Body, Skin Care, Makeup/Fragrance), for a savings of up to $30. Pretty sweet, right? Well, I felt like surely there was some sort of brand exclusion on that, so in fooling around with the coupon I tried it on a GHD flat iron (my personal flat iron which I love and cuddle and call George) to see if it worked. And it did! So I thought, hey, score! With the coupon, the GHD iron came down to about $120, which is pretty good.
But then I checked Amazon—as one does—and their current price on that iron is $95. So the Soap.com deal isn’t as good as I originally thought. Oh, well.
Next I tried it on a high-end blowdryer; with the coupon, Soap’s price on the Amika Ionic Tourmaline dryer comes down to about $118. The same hairdryer is currently $278 (!!!) at Amazon for reasons which are unclear (maybe that particular one is actually coated in platinum?), but a quick check reveals the lowest it’s ever been at Amazon is $132. Ergo, with the coupon, Soap’s deal is excellent. (I mean, if you’re in the market for a really expensive hairdryer.)
The takeaway? If you’re looking for a high-end beauty item, this coupon may be a great way to score a deal. But do your price research before you buy.
Because every kid is super
It’s baaaaa-aaaaaack! Today at Mamasource Deals the much-loved deal for PowerCapes is back again—spend $20 and get $40 to spend on your choice of hero-wear.
I’ve bought these as gifts for my favorite little ones, and the quality is superb and the hours of imaginative play simply endless. What little kid doesn’t want to be a hero? Whether you go for the full get-up (shirt, mask, armpieces) or just the cape—customized the way your kid will love it, of course—this is really one of those can’t-go-wrong purchases.
And yes, you can buy adult sizes, too. I don’t judge.
Scrub it, scrub it good
Do not make me share some of the poetry I’ve written over the years to Mr. Clean. It’s embarrassing. (Although my haikus about removing grubby fingerprints from the walls are quite lyrical, if I do say so myself.)
Nevertheless! If you love Magic Erasers like I love Magic Erasers, get on over to Amazon—they have this 8-count box of Magic Erasers marked at $6.47, plus there’s a clippable $.50 coupon in the middle of the page, plus if you buy via Subscribe & Save you get free shipping and another 5% off. Not bad.
I use these puppies for everything. I believe they’re made of magic (just like the name says). But why pay a buck (or more) per pad when you can get a deal like this?
Easter (and everything else) shoes
Can I just tell you how happy I am that I no longer have to find teeny white patent leather shoes every Easter? I used to hate that. Sure, they were cute, but they were also expensive and uncomfortable and ended up scuffed after a single wearing. Chalk that one up as part of having little kids that I don’t miss at all.
If you’re still in that stage, though, hop on over to 6pm.com today—their third splash-screen (you know how it rotates through the deals, right?) is for a 70%+ off sale on shoes, and if you sort by price, the first offerings are a few rows of kiddie dress-up kicks. Perfect for Easter or whatever. And then you can go ahead and buy something pretty for yourself, because hey, you knocked out this year’s Easter shoes in January, man! You deserve a treat!
