Gummy yummies

I myself would never risk my teeth on chewy, delicious, sugary candy (don’t mind my crossed fingers behind my back, there), but if gummies are your thing, check out the current Amazon special on Haribo treats. By combining Subscribe & Save (15% off and free shipping) with coupon code HARIBOII for another 10% off, you’ll get 25% off the already-reduced prices on things like gummy bears, gummy fruits, gummy fish!

Ohhhhhhh. I need to stop looking.

Badda-bin

When I checked the Target Daily Deals early this morning, they were doing that thing where there’s items listed but they’re not actually marked down. Fun! So I waited and kept checking back and they seem to have fixed it, now.

So one of the featured items today is one of those multi-bin organizing racks for kids, and can I just tell you that my youngest is now 11 and we still use that thing? If you have a kid who collects small objects (of any kind) there is simply no rivaling the giant bin rack thing. (Yes, that’s the technical term. Giant bin rack thing.) I lurve it. It’s down to $45 shipped, today, and worth every stinkin’ penny.

(I know, I know; you just wish I would stop holding back and tell you how I really feel….)

Men, suit up

We’re coming into suit season, guys: Easter, weddings, graduations, and—my personal favorite—the ol’ “wife steps into your closet and pulls out a suit you’ve had since college and starts laughing uncontrollably” event.

A good suit is worth the money. Trust me.

Jos. A. Bank is the place to get high-quality menswear without having to pay boutique prices, and right now they’re offering 50% off your first suit/blazer/tux and 70% off the second, automatically. Shipping is free on $195+, which isn’t hard to hit when you’re talking about buying suits.

This week’s special is a few deals on fleece, too, just in case you get tired of your snazzy new suit(s).

Shape up, or dress like you did

You’ve got between now and March 9th to shop at Maidenform and save 30% on your order—just use coupon code SHHH30 to get the savings.

Do you ever watch What Not To Wear? My favorite episodes are the ones where they show some misguided woman how to buy a bra that actually fits. Proper placement of the ladies can make a big difference, ladies! (Okay, that was a little confusing… hopefully you followed.)

All I’m saying is, there’s a reason they call them foundation garments. Ahem.

Saturday deals

Good morning! It is cold and rainy and dreary, here—a perfect day for staying in and doing a whole lot of nothing. Aaahhhhhh. Of course, shopping online doesn’t count as “something.” Thankfully.

Did you know that Britax is doing a special promotion right now? Alert Want Not reader Traci tipped me off (thanks, Traci!) even before the deal was being advertised at Amazon, but it was kind of confusing at the time. Now it’s easy to get the deal at Amazon: just add a qualifying stroller to your cart and pick your free accessory. And isn’t it nice that Amazon is selling that stroller for about $100 cheaper than anyone else, too? It sure is.

Macy’s has a particularly good deal available on a 7-cup Cuisinart food processor today; it’s down to just $70 (over half off). You’ll have to pay shipping, but that’s still a great deal on a genuine Cuisinart if you’re in the market for one. (I lurve mine. Perhaps more than I should.)

Over at 6pm.com today they’ve got Skechers for up to 70% off. Just sayin’.

Gearing up for some summer camping? Check out this Coleman WeatherMaster 6-person screened tent at Meijer, currently just $170 shipped. (Great reviews at Amazon, where it’s still $248.)

That should keep you busy for a little bit. I have a date with some pancakes….

Here, let me make it up to you

Okay, two weirdnesses: One, Amazon emailed me to say “Hey, it’s the Friday Sale!” so I went to update my last post from my phone to say “Hey, it’s back!” But 1) the sale wasn’t really back (Amazon, whatcha smokin’?), and 2) The WordPress app on my phone spontaneously removed all of the brackets and quotation marks from my post, rendering all the links gobbledegook. Fun! Sorry about that.

To make it up to you, here a few more deals.

I don’t know how I missed checking 6pm.com this morning, but they basically have aaaaaaaall their sandals deeply discounted, which means that even on a chilly, rainy day like today I can dream of summer. Awesome.

There’s a huge sale going on this weekend at Bon-Ton; on top of their markdowns, use coupon code LOVEFREESHIP for free shipping, and either STWDWKEND11 for another 20% off or ECMJNRSLF11 for an extra 25% off juniors’ clothing.

Sears is also having a big 2-day sale, and don’t forget coupon code SEARS2011 for an extra $5 off your $50+ purchase. In most cases you can elect free shipping to your local store for pickup, if you don’t want to pay for shipping.

Hopefully that makes up for this morning’s glitch, a little.

My world has been rocked!

I went to check the Amazon Friday Sale this morning and its… gone. My life Friday no longer has meaning. Woe is me!

Thank goodness I have a breakfast over at my kids school to get to, to ease my pain and give me the time to make sense of this new world with a Friday-Sale-sized hole in it. [Edited to add: At 8:50 a.m. Eastern, it appears to be back! Huzzah!]

In the meantime, have you checked out Eversave lately? Today (check the deal for Atlanta if that’s not your local city) you can spend $20 to get a box of pre-owned kids clothes from thredUP, plus youll get a years pro membership for free. Its a $46 value, but more importantly, its a whole new way to recycle your kids clothes and outfit them in someone elses hand-me-downs. Its cheap, its green, and (perhaps best of all) there are no eBay weirdos insisting that they have to wire you an extra $2000 and you should just refund them the overage. Check it out.

Back after the festivities with some more deals….

Pokewho?

I’ll be the first to admit that a soon as my son starts talking about Pokemon, my eyes glaze over and he starts sounding like the teacher from Charlie Brown in my mind. (“Wah wah wah wah wah wahwahwah wah wah!”) So I really have no idea what this is all about, is my point, but apparently on Sunday they’re releasing two new Pokemon Nintendo DS games.

According to my Pokemon fiend, this is a big deal because… um… uhhh… because wah wah wah wah wah. Right? Right.

If you want to pre-order either of these from Amazon, you can get Pokemon White Version or Pokemon Black Version for the $35 list price, but also get a $10 promotional credit back to spend on a future order. Which is pretty nice.

Because—given the choice—I’d much rather only spend $25 on wah wah wah than $35. Obviously.

Pop-up Harry Potter is back

I know I posted this one a while back, and then the price got raised and some folks didn’t have a chance to grab it. Well, it’s back again—the Harry Potter: A Pop-Up Book is currently just $6.99 at Amazon, with free Prime shipping (or eligible for free Super Saver Shipping on $25+).

This is a really beautiful book, and a must-have for any die-hard Harry Potter fans. A couple of these would round out your gift closet nicely, no? Just sayin’.

You could be eating out for less

Hey, have you checked out Restaurant.com lately? Don’t forget that some restaurants release only a limited number of certificates per month, and those will typically sell out long before the month is over (making the first week of the month the best time to grab ’em).

Right now you can use coupon code FORK for 70% off your purchase, which means a $25 dining certificate—normally $10, already a bargain—will be just $3. It’s a simple way to keep the occasional meal out affordable for your family.

(Just ask anyone in my house: What’s your favorite kind of food? The answer is always “The kind someone else made for me.”)
