The trifecta of shoe awesomeness
Please keep me away from 6pm.com today; they have Clarks, Privo, and Indigo (yes, I know they’re all Clarks, but they rarely do them all at once) marked down to as much as 70% off.
My favorite boots are Clarks. And so far this year I’ve been very, very good….
More after-holiday clothing deals
Still have some Christmas money burning a hole in your pocket, and a hole in your wardrobe to fill? Both Old Navy and Gap are having after-holiday specials, and today and tomorrow you can use coupon code GAPNEWYEAR at Gap to take 25% off the regularly-priced things which aren’t already on sale.
On the one hand, it annoys me that they’re offering a coupon that doesn’t work on sale items. On the other, I’m the person who walks up to a clearance rack and plucks out the one thing that turns out not to be on sale after all, so I do appreciate that they’re willing to soften the blow if you fall for something that’s not actually marked down. Heh.
Still working on the math
I have a couple of dried-fruit addicts here in my house, and at least a few times a year I puzzle over whether or not buying a good dehydrator might ultimately be cheaper than continuing to buy the stuff pre-made.
I’m not sure I have the right algorithm yet—how, exactly, does one do higher order math when dealing in apple rings?—but I do know that this Nesco American Harvest Dehydrator is generally consider to be among the very best, and right now it’s $130 shipped from Amazon, about the lowest I’ve ever seen it.
Granted, that’s a lot of apple rings, but… I’m considering taking the plunge. Hmmmm.
Indulge or get fit (or both)
I spy two items of note in the Target Daily Deals this morning: First, there’s a Burt’s Bees Honey Spa gift set for half off ($10), which would be a nice gift for just about anyone… and second, there’s a Jillians Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2010 bundle with what looks like a pretty adorable yoga bag for $25. (For reference, the game alone is $12.50 at Amazon, so consider whether the bag is worth $12.50 or more to you).
There’s some clothing on sale, too. But I find myself mostly giggling over the fact that its a home fitness game that includes a bag to take your mat out to class. It is a nice bag, though.

Educational, hold the boring
Where was this deal before Christmas, I ask you?? Oh, well.
Amazon currently has The Universe: The Complete Season 1 on Blu-ray available for just $8.75! That’s over 10 hours of blow-your-mind outer space exploration for under ten bucks. I’m totally in.
Not a bad start to the morning.

Accessorize your tech
Check out today’s sidebar Minneapolis Groupon—it’s $10 for $20 to EverydaySource, your destination for all of the tech accessories you need to make your new toys even more awesome. They have cases for your phone, cables for your TV, ink for your printer, and more.
Shipping is always free, so you’re not losing half your Groupon to shipping charges (yeah, that’s happened to me on a couple of ’em). The way I see it, it’s $10 of free money on stuff you’d be buying anyway. Sweet.
New Year’s Resolution cereal
Let me be perfectly clear, here: I never ate Grape-Nuts even when I could still eat wheat, because I prefer food to 1) taste like food and 2) not break my teeth. I am not a fan.
But. I am a big fan of my husband’s, and he is weird, the kind of weird that loves Grape-Nuts. I don’t understand it. But I buy it for him because I love him. He calls it “energy pellets.” I call it “overpriced gravel.”
Also, I hear a lot of people resolve to eat healthy in the new year and force themselves to enjoy eating gravel for breakfast. I don’t judge.
Anyway, right now Amazon has 4 24-ounce boxed of Grape-Nuts for just $7.39 shipped when you buy via Subscribe & Save. It’s a great way to stock up, particularly if buying it for your spouse at the grocery store makes you shudder involuntarily….
It’s winter’s end! No, really
It feels to me like winter is just beginning, but I’m not in charge of these things. In the retail world, it’s clearance time. (Have to clear out those parkas for bathing suits, you know!) Anyway, that means the big season-end sale is already on over at Lands’ End, and if you use coupon code shippingisfree and PIN 5859, shipping is free on any order.
I love these sorts of sales, because what they call “season end” I call “four more months of winter.”
