Unique gifts, friendly savings
Maybe you picked up the Groupon for them yesterday; maybe you didn’t. Either way, it’s Friends & Family time at Red Envelope, with 20% off all orders, today and tomorrow, automatically through that link.
I’ve found some lovely items in the Sale section, in the past. (Not that the other stuff isn’t lovely, just that I’m only shopping there when it’s on sale.) This is a great place to get affordable yet luxurious gifts… particularly when there’s extra savings to be had.
Put your Amazon Mom to good use
[An aside: I love that this “caregiver Prime” is being called “Amazon Mom,” because it brings to mind an entire world of “Your Amazon Mom” jokes heretofore unexposed. “Your Amazon Mom orders so much stuff, the UPS man doesn’t even ring the bell anymore!” Badaboom.]
Anyway. The last time I posted a deal on Pampers wipes, some of you were all, “But Mir! The Huggies ones are so much better!” And I said “… okay…?” because it’s been a long time since I had to wipe anyone’s bottom (you’re welcome). But this one is for you:
Right now Amazon has the Huggies Natural Care Fragrance-Free Wipes Refills available for just $10.15 shipped after Subscribe & Save and your automatic Amazon Mom 15% discount. That works out to about a cent-and-a-half per wipe.
Plus, you know, all of the “Amazon Mom” jokes you can think of….
Keep on saving
I thought the $16 deals at Old Navy were a one-day thing, but apparently not. And today you can save an additional 20% when you use coupon code ONBDAY20, too.
For the most part I have to say I don’t understand the allure of a “puffy vest” (if I’m cold, don’t I want sleeves?), but some of the designs Old Navy is carrying right now almost make me change my mind. Plus my kids pretty much live in their hoodies all winter long.
All of which is to say: This is why I continue to shop at Old Navy, even though the mannequin commercials continue to creep me out. The end.
Don’t worry, it’s a new day (with more chocolate)
Several of you bemoaned missing the Groupon deal for Chocolate Gourmet, yesterday.
It’s baaaaa-aaaack! Check out the Piedmont Triad Groupon to get it—$45 worth of drool-worthy chocolate goodies for just $19. I suggested it for teacher gifts, but by “teacher gifts” I meant “hogging all for myself when no one is looking.”
Um, I mean, I’m sure you are much more willing to share than I generally am. Ahem.
And if your gifting needs run to the non-edible, be sure to check out the Omaha Groupon For $30 to Red Envelope for just $15.
Okay, that makes a lot more sense
As some of you know, I get up very early in the morning, mainly because it would be child abuse for my kids to have to face me before I’ve had at least one cup of coffee and checked my email. And this morning when I got up and my head finished exploding about my site being screwed up, I went and checked the Target Daily Deals, hoping for a bit of solace.
Instead, what I found—early this morning—was that items were listed but not marked down at all. And that was confusing. But I guess it was just a site glitch, because if you take a look now, they have all kinds of goodies. Like Balderdash (my favorite game ever) for just $15. Or a super-cool pink camo CHI flat iron for just $80 (don’t forget to activate this link to save an additional $5 on your $50+ purchase).
I guess the moral of the story here is that getting up early only results in bad things. Obviously.
Get Family Fun for 50 cents an issue
I believe in life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, pretty shoes, and never paying more than about $5 for a magazine subscription. You know, all of the things that make up the American Way.
Today’s magazine deal in the Barnes & Noble Daily Deals section is a year of Family Fun for just $5. This is one of my very favorite magazines, because it’s chock full of simple products and recipes the kids can oftentimes do by themselves. For $.50/issue it is well worth it, at least for us.
Of course, if you gift it to someone, they won’t know what you paid, either.
Clearance time at Macy’s
I do love a good clearance event at Macy’s; it’s a great time to pick up a little something pretty for not much money. (This is how I’ve purchased nearly every dress in my closet….)
Today and tomorrow (through October 13th, 2010), shop the fashion clearance and on top of low prices, enjoy $.99 shipping with code 99CENTS. I’m even seeing in-season items on sale, so this is an unexpected bit of good shopping karma for a Tuesday morning, no?
I’m sorry. Kind of.
So, you know how Halloween candy is more expensive the longer you wait to buy it, but if you buy it early you eat it all? No…? Okay, maybe that’s just me.
Amazon is currently offering various Nestle fun size packs with an additional $6.54 off at checkout (edited to add: it appears to only be taking that much off for the Butterfingers, Baby Ruth, and Crunch bars). So, for example, my pre-gluten-free-days favorite, fun size Butterfingers, come out to $7.80 shipped for 6 bags. That’s crazy.
So yeah, you’re going to buy way too much candy and then you’ll have to eat it. So I’m sort of sorry about that. Except I’m not, because now I really want a Butterfinger.
Well that didn’t take long
Um, wasn’t it just last week when I was talking about the Wii and talking about how you kids today have it so easy, because back when I got my Wii it was $240 everywhere and never went on sale, but now it’s just $199 with tons more stuff than mine came with, and y’ll should be grateful?
Well, okay, I may have worded it a little differently. Anyway, the point is that I thought $199 for the Wii was pretty sweet.
Except now the Wii console with Wii Sports Resort is down to just $175 at Amazon, and I am torn between believing this is your best possible pre-holiday deal and wondering if Black Friday will bring us an even lower price. I really don’t know; certainly the console shortage of years past doesn’t seem to be an issue anymore.
I don’t envy anyone trying to decide whether to buy now or wait. But man, $175. That’s nice.
Drool-worthy
This is going to be one of those “Oh, how about for teacher gifts!” sorts of things where I end up purchasing and eating it all before it ever makes it out of the house, but points for good intentions, right?
Hop on over to today’s Chicago Groupon and look in the right sidebar for today’s online deal—$19 gets you $45 to spend at Chocolate Gourmet (whose website is currently slammed thanks to all the Groupon customers). How can you not think impure thoughts about a site where you can buy “damn good cookies” and “ugly truffles?” Yum. (Oh, they’re an Oprah pick, too.)
Groupon, you complete me.
