It does a body good

Do you like to buy those organic milk boxes for your kids’ lunches, but prefer not to sell a vital organ every time you go to stock up? (“Sorry, honey, we’re out of kidneys.”) Amazon comes to the rescue for those of us who don’t have Costco (because I know someone is going to pipe up with the cost of these at Costco)!

Through September 11, 2010, Amazon is running specials on both Horizon milk boxes and Organic Valley milk boxes (thanks for the heads up, Heidi!). The latter is the slightly better deal, if you don’t have a preference—using the provided coupon codes and Subscribe & Save to maximize your savings, it comes out to about $.93/box (vs. $.99/box for the other).

Me, I’m generally mean and make ’em drink water, but I do like to have a case of these in the pantry to throw in lunches now and then, like on the rare days when I send them in with cookies. Yum.

Kick-start your Fall

Today’s daily deals at 6pm.com includes killer deals on boots from La Canadienne and Bastien, so if you (like me) are dreaming of cooler days and pretty boots, it’s a good day to shop.

Of course, they’ve also got up to 70% off Nine West and Guess, as well as a bunch of other stuff. Pretty, pretty shoes. And can I just admit that when the platform heels started showing up everywhere I was all high and mighty and “Oh, those are so ugly and clunky” and now I’m seriously considering buying some? I don’t know what is happening to me. I think I have a fever… and the only prescription is more pretty shoes. (“Take two snakeskin pumps and call me in the morning.”)

Another back-to-school sale? Why not!

Amazon is hopping on the back-to-school bandwagon—again, because I’m pretty sure they already did this once already—with a giant back to school clothing sale on cool duds for the kids and teens. Many items are already marked down, plus use coupon code BK2SKL01 to save $10 off $50+ or code BK2SKL25 for $25 off $100+.

I imagine most of you have already taken care of BTS shopping, by now, but there’s no rule that says you can’t start your holiday shopping. Or your just-because shopping. Whatever. I don’t judge, especially at these prices.

Saturday deals

Goooooood morning! I hope you’re having a great start to your weekend. Me, I’m building a boat, and thinking fondly back to the days when we were all fretting about the drought. (Note: Pretty sure the drought is over now. Just sayin’.)

Let’s see what today offers those who wish to stay inside and dry!

Over at Children’s Place, you have today and tomorrow to save 25% on your $50+ purchase with coupon code P9A2010.

Today’s Amazon Gold Box holds a 500GB portable hard drive, perfect for keeping your data backed up and secure. If you haven’t yet used code GXTPOFES at Amazon, that’ll take another 10% off, bringing the price down to just $54 shipped.

It’s handbag mania today over at 6pm.com, today, but there’s plenty of shoe deals, too, if you’d rather. I’m eying those 70% off Borns… my go-to sandals are Born and I love them.

Hitting Coldwater Creek today? Code WHH5815 will give you free shipping on any order, plus if you spend $100+ it will also take 25% off your total.

Apparently you, my smartypants readers, were correct, and the ONFALL coupon is still working at Old Navy today for 20% off, plus free shipping on $75+. Just in case you missed the bigger sale earlier this week.

And you know they’re doing a one-day sale at Macy’s (hey Macy’s, that phrase “one day,” I do not think it means what you think it means!), which is not unusual, but they’ve just knocked another 25% off of items already on clearance, so there’s some good deals to be had, there.

I’ve got to go finish my boat. Y’all stay dry today, okay?

Hip hip, hoofriday!

It’s probably a bad sign that we’re only two weeks into the school year and every Friday already feels like a major victory. Yeah. Not going to think about that one, too much. Instead, let us all admire the shiny, shiny Friday with its promises of sleeping in tomorrow. Ahhhh.

I had a reader share with me the other day that even though the Amazon Friday Sale has dwindled in recent months, she still looks forward to it as the perfect time to stock up on K-cups for her fancy coffee maker. I love it when people find the silver, caffeine-infused lining like that. Especially when today’s sale is just one, pitiful page of items. Though they do have a great deal on my favorite tea: Get 480 PG Tips tea bags for a grand total of $16.80 shipped after coupon code PGTPS343 and Subscribe & Save. That’s under four cents a bag for tea that actually tastes like tea, not tinted water.

And did you know that Amazon has 1,000 MP3 albums for just $5 each available until the end of the month? It’s a great way to load up your iPod on the cheap.

The Target Daily Deals feature a $60 deal on one of those iHome docking alarm clock radio things, which is pretty good if you’re in the market for one. (For reference: Good reviews but $20 more at Amazon.)

Deal at 6pm.com today include Clarks, BCBG, Asics, Steve Madden… oh, excuse me… I drooled a little on my keyboard. Sorry ’bout that.

The Summer Clearance Sale at Oneida is in full swing, with savings on everything from silverware to pizza stones. They’ve even got a couple of silver-plated baby mugs on clearance, should you be looking for such a thing. Shipping is free on $99+, and don’t forget coupon code TTE10 for an extra 10% off.

I think we’ll have a little contest, later, to make up for missing the Monday contest this week. I’m hungry, and I have just the prize in mind….

New ones all the time

Have you checked Restaurant.com lately? I can’t seem to figure out any rhyme or reason to the adding/dropping of restaurants, but I’m not going to question it. For the first couple of years I knew about them, the list in my area never changed. Now every time I check there’s at least one more new restaurant. (Like magic!) We’re enjoying checking out places we might not otherwise try, and saving big bucks at places we already love.

Through August 23rd, 2010, coupon code STEAK takes 70% off your purchase price, which means you get a certificate for $25 worth of dining for a cool $3. You probably have $3 in the bottom of your purse right now. (Unless you’re a dude. In which case you probably don’t have a purse. But if you’re a dude with a purse, rock on with your bad self. I don’t judge.)

Rhymes with Coupon

Have you checked out Groupon yet? I know sometimes my ads on here highlight it, so it seems like something you’ve probably at least heard of.

Today’s deal (everywhere; often the deals are geo-targeted, but today everyone gets it) is $50 to spend at Gap for just $25 out-of-pocket. You can’t use it online, so I hesitated—you know how I hate going to the store!—but in the end, $25 of free stuff won out and I bought one. It’s good on sale items, too, which means that you could really score some great deals. Just make sure to read all of the terms. This particular Groupon is only good for three months, for example, so don’t buy it if you can’t go shop before November 19th.

I, for one, am looking forward to hitting the clearance rack with my free money in hand.

Move over, Mario Kart!

The holidays are just around the corner, you know. Stop laughing. They early bird gets the discounted worms! Or something!

We are huge Mario Kart fans, here. Huge. And so when I started hearing about a new Wii racing game that was even better, my interest was piqued. Of course, right now Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is still $28 at Amazon, which is a little more than I want to spend on a game. Lookie here, though: It’s just $20 at Best Buy, and if you choose to pick it up at the store, there’s no shipping fee. (Lazy, like me? Have it shipped to your home for about $2.50.) $20 is about what I’m willing to pay for a Wii game, so I’m stoked. And if you need the Xbox or PS3 versions, they’ve got those for just $20, as well.

I can hardly wait to be thoroughly humiliated by my 10-year-old.

Go ahead and laugh

Look; I’ve gone on and on about how easy it is to cut hair at home, before. Pretty much every time there’s a good deal on a clipper set, in fact. But here’s the thing: I’m torn, because the difference between good clippers and crummy ones is significant.

However, despite my misgivings about the low price, the Conair clipper set in today’s Target Daily Deals has great reviews. So maybe you really can get a great set for just $12 shipped? (Maybe even less, with coupon code TOEY738U.)

Nevertheless, I think I’m going to take a tip from the reviewers and grab a set… to use on my dog. I still have a Wahl clipper set going strong that I use on my guys, so we’ll let Licorice be the guinea pig for this one. I draw the line at buying her that adorable bracelet that’s also in today’s deals, though.

Outfit the family for less

Today (August 19th, 2010) only, use coupon code ONFALL at Old Navy and you’ll save 30% on your entire order!

If you’re too busy washing your cat, or something, today, you’ll get a second chance to save, tomorrow, though it’s not quite as good. On August 20th, 2010, the same code will give you 25% off your order. Plus, it looks like orders of $75+ currently ship for free.

On August 21st, all you’ll get is creepy talking mannequins who steal each others’ legs, and no discount at all. (If you have no idea what I’m talking about, consider yourself lucky. I love Old Navy but that commercial gives me nightmares.)
