Positively Pyrex
Over the last few years I’ve successfully transitioned most of my food storage containers over to glass rather than plastic, and I have a few Pyrex baking dishes, too, but there’s always some occasion when I go for my trusty lasagna baker and realize it’s already in the fridge with leftovers in it.
I offer this by way of explanation as to why I got so excited when I saw this 17-piece Pyrex set at Target for just $29.99 shipped. It’s everything you need—a measuring cup, loaf pan, and pie plate, plus four round storage containers and three lidded casserole dishes. Round out your collection or pick it up as a everyone-can-use-this wedding gift. Or do both.
Even better? There’s a new 10% available, too. Use code TOEY738U to get the whole shebang for around $27.
Saturday deals
Gooooooood morning! There was a sleepover here, last night. My ears are still ringing. Give me a moment to immerse my entire head in this pot of coffee….
Okay! All ready to scope out the weekend deals, now.
I’m eyeing the wicker milk crate set in the Target Daily Deals—two for $25 shipped might even clean up the pit known as my daughter’s room—but I can’t stop laughing at the vibrating mascara. Because… um… really? Okay, then.
Maybe it’s because I was in middle school in the early 80s, but when I clicked over to 6pm.com today and saw the deals on Dr. Martens, I may have squealed a little. I know I’m probably too old to wear them now, but they have so many more cute styles than they used to!
You know my love for KitchenAid mixers is unstoppable, right? Check out this blue KitchenAid Artisan at Smartbargains for $230! If you decide to buy, after adding it to your cart, go through this link for free shipping, or—if you’re a new Smartbargains customer—go through this link for 12% off and free shipping. Needless to say, if you’re able to use the new customer coupon, this is a smokin’ deal.
Graveyard Mall is offering an additional 50% off clearance with coupon code julyclear50. Their shipping is kind of high, but if you’re buying a bunch (or saving a bunch), it may be worth it.
Through July 18th, use coupon code ONSAVE15 to take 15% off your purchase at Old Navy; combine that with their Fundamentals Sale (prices starting at $4) and you can really clean up.
Banana Republic is offering 25% off any order this weekend with coupon code BRSAVE25, too. Works with sale prices, too, so for example, pants are already 30% off, and this will work on top of that.
Today is supposedly the last day of the Hot Summer Sale and Clearance at Macy’s, though we all know there’ll be another sale along in no time. Not that that stopped me from taking a look. Ahem.
I’m off to make pancakes, because I’m just that nice. Enjoy your morning!
Friday, it’s a heat wave
Don’t mind me, I’ll be over here. Melting. I bear up pretty well under the heat until Friday, at which point my brain flips to pool mode. It turns out that it’s hard to type while swimming, so let’s see what I can manage before the thermometer hits 100 and I run for the pool.
It’s been a few days since I insisted you check out 6pm.com, but today’s deals include deep discounts on Anne Klein shoes, and I love me some Anne Klein, particularly for under $30.
If 6pm doesn’t have what you need today, check out the Piperlime Tag Sale; they just took another round of reductions and have some incredible stuff on sale. I really want new sandals, now.
Today’s Amazon Gold Box deal is the World at War series on DVD—26 hours of storytelling about World War II for just $37 shipped, and sure to make your favorite history buff happy. Today’s Friday Sale has some of the usual grocery suspects, though there’s a few deals worth noting. For example, get a 6-pack of Happybaby organic green puffs or apple puffs for just $13.60 when you buy via Subscribe & Save.
The $.99 shipping per item deal is still going on at Kohls, plus they’ve got new discounts and it’s Kohls Cash time—earn $10 back for every $50 you spend! Everyone can use coupon code JULYSAVE to take 15% off, and code HOME50FREE to ship your $50+ order for free (they’re stackable).
That should keep you out of trouble for a bit, right? Back later with this week’s contest winners and maybe even more deals.
To Prime or not to Prime
… that, as they say, is the question. Specifically, the question was this, from Daisy:
Is Amazon Prime worthwhile? I get a lot of amazon gift codes, and I wondered if combining those with Prime might be a good idea.
I love this question, but I also hate this question, because it’s a little bit like asking “Do these pants make me look fat?” and here is why: I think the answer to this question is highly subjective. read more…
Load up your iPod
Whenever I see a new two-buck collection available for download at Amazon, I snap it up. I’m cheap and indiscriminate, that way. But really, how can you go wrong, paying $2 for 99 different pieces of music?
Right now I see 6 free samplers and 5 $1.99 samples available, and all of them are actual music. (Let’s face it, sometimes random samplers are filled with… something else.) I particularly love the classical music ones for loading up my son’s MP3 player… there’s no better way to sneakily get a kid loving classical music than to put it on his player and make it the only music he’s allowed to listen to when he’s doing his homework. Just sayin’.
Totally silly
The whole Silly Bandz craze has infiltrated my kids’ schools, and I haven’t bought any yet, because I’m mean and—okay, technically, I just lied to you.
I hadn’t bought any. Until about five minutes ago.
If you want ’em, check out today’s deal at Kids.Woot: 72 Kooz Bandz (same concept, different brand) for $8 shipped, and the price is even cheaper per band if you buy more than one (because it’s a flat $5 for shipping regardless of how many you buy).
I think they’re ridiculous. I also think I’m going to be a hero for at least five minutes when this package arrives. Woo!
Sorry, Roku Store
Been thinking about buying a Roku? (You totally should—I pink puffy heart ours, not the least of which because the same Netflix disc has been sitting in my family room for four months, but we’ve livestreamed a dozen movies in that time.) And while I generally advocate buying directly from the Roku Store, today’s Amazon Gold Box Deal is a HD Roku for just $100 shipped, and it comes with a $10 credit towards Amazon Video on Demand, effectively making it $90. That’s crazy.
By the way, I just hooked my Roku up to my Amazon account a couple of days ago. It took about ten seconds. (And I’m totally having Girls’ Movie Night with my daughter tonight. C’mon over! Bring snacks!)
Christmas in July? Why not!
It’s currently 93 degrees outside. So, naturally, I’m thinking about Christmas. (Just trying to stay cool, y’all.)
Right now there’s a big Christmas in July sale going on over at GiftsForYouNow.com, with at least 50% off all personalized ornaments. I actually see a ton of cute ones which appear to be more like 75% off! And how great is it going to feel to get some of your Christmas shopping out of the way this early, at such good prices? So great.
Make the savings even better with a code: Use LSDJULY15 for 15% off any order, or code LSJULYSHIP for free shipping on your $40+ order.
And then make a note of where you’re stashing your early purchases, so you won’t forget about ’em. (Not that I’ve ever done that. Ahem.)
Music in flight
Hey, have you peeked at today’s Amazon Gold Box Deal yet today? It’s seasons 1 and 2 of Flight of the Conchords with a bonus CD, all for just $27 shipped.
It’s okay if you emitted a little fangirl squee, just then. I did, too.
Check out the sale, ship it for free
Today and tomorrow (through July 8th, 2010), absolutely every order at Lee Jeans ships for free, automatically. Why? Who knows. Just go with it.
Here’s more good news: Look in the Boys’ Sale section—they’ve got little boys’ double-knee jeans marked down to $15. They look like regular jeans, but they have hidden reinforced knees so that even your tiny terror is unlikely to rip through them. Smart. I wish they came in big boy sizes, too.
