Friday, you’re on fire

Remember the last t-shirt sale at Threadless? I took that opportunity to get my daughter a t-shirt that says “If your pants are on fire, being a liar becomes less important.” She is wearing it today and that makes me giggle. (Certainly more than it makes me giggle that it’s going to be 85 degrees today. Remember Spring? We seem to have skipped it, this year. Straight from Winter to Summer. Boom!)

Anyway, I am by now totally prepared to be disappointed by the Amazon Friday Sale, but there is one notable deal: If your family likes Craisins, check out this crazy deal on Oskri organic dried cranberries—12 packs for about $15 shipped (using Subscribe & Save), which is cheaper than the full-of-unnatural-stuff kind.

If you’ve got some time and patience, they’re also doing another clothing clearance sale, with a few good deals to be had (but a lot of pages to click through). If you’re an immediate-satisfaction type, just hop on over to April’s batch of 100 MP3 albums available for just $5 each and call it a day.

Over in the Target Daily Deals you’ll find a few sweet little iPod accessories, from a 4-way charger to little travel speakers. They’ve also got a half-price Didj pack that’s worth checking out if you’re in the market for one.

Meijer is offering a new promotion right now—get $10 off your $75+ order with code 10BUCKS, but it excludes groceries and electronics. Also, I’m having trouble figuring out what their shipping charges are. But that might be worth a look.

I owe you some contest winners and am also hoping some more deals will pop up throughout the day, so I’ll be back later. (Hopefully not with my pants on fire.)

Reading material fit for the pool

Okay, maybe I’m jumping the gun just a little. It’s barely April. It’s barely Spring. And yet, I can already practically taste those lazy Summer afternoons, sitting by the side of the pool with my water bottle and a magazine, idly flipping the pages and contentedly sighing:

“STOP SPLASHING ME!”

Oh. Um. Sorry about that—reality invaded my fantasy for a moment.

No matter! We can still talk about magazines. (Smooth. I am nothing if not smooth.) Did you know that Amazon has a whole slew of 2-for-1 magazine subscriptions available right now? They do! Many popular titles come out to $4 or $5 a year, and that means that when you do get splashed (hey, it’s bound to happen) it’s no big deal.

(Okay, you caught me. I am selfishly excited about the magazines we like—time to renew my subscription to Working Mother and my daughter’s subscription to Vegetarian Times.)

Pretty pretty

Hey, there’s a big clearance sale going on at Figleaves right now, with items up to 70% off. That’s undergarments, sleepwear, swimwear, even lougewear.

And it all comes from the UK for a flat $4.95 shipping charge, which makes it feel extra-fancy. Try having a cup of tea when your order arrives, you’ll see. Fancy!

Let the sunshine in

I’m a big fan of natural light, but of course sometimes there’s none to be had. I’m looking at you, Winter. I’m looking at you with meaningful eyebrows.

Anyway, today’s Target Daily Deals include a 5′ sunlight floor lamp for just $30 shipped—it gives off light most like actual sunlight, so that you don’t feel like you’re trapped in a terrarium, even in the dark Winter months. (For reference, the same lamp has great reviews but is $40 over at Amazon.)

And sure, it’s sunny out now, but it’ll be dark later. Um, later tonight, as well as later this year. Just saying.

It’s been days. . .

… since I mentioned 6pm.com, hasn’t it? I’ve been trying to be good. Really. I just… ummm… saw something shiny there today. In the form of deeply discounted Skechers, Keens, and more.

And I actually need new sneakers, because my 2010 commitment to getting fit has actually worn out my old walking shoes. Yay me, I get new shoes! I mean, um, yay me, I get to live a healthier life. With new shoes.

No foolin’

Happy April Fool’s Day! Feeling parched? Today only, Honest Tea is offering a Buy 1, Get 1 coupon you can print out and redeem any time in April.

Honest Tea and Honest Ade is made from real, organic ingredients, and never contains anything like HFCS. I pink puffy heart them. Sure, most of the time I am just a Mean Mom and make everyone drink water, but I’m looking forward to the excuse to splurge. Yummy.

Light up the night, a little or a lot

I grew up with these cool emergency lights in our house; they were plug-in nightlights that essentially turned into flashlights whenever the power went out or you unplugged them. Handy to have around in the event of an emergency, or—if you were me—very handy to have so as to read a book after bedtime. (Sorry, Mom!)

As an adult I have tried to find something similar on the cheap for years; every inexpensive no-name brand I’ve tried has died within weeks and been useless. But today Buy.com has the Energizer Light on Demand Center for just $9 shipped, and it’s a trusted name and a decent price. (Comparison: Though it’s currently defaulting to the Buy.com option, Amazon’s regular price is $28.)

Plug it in, and it’s a regular darkness-sensing nightlight. Lose power, and it turns into an area light. Lift out the “stick” and you’ve got a long-life flashlight.

I’d say that’s perfect for keeping monsters away and finishing that book after hours.

More ways to enjoy your last day of Prime

I’m getting all misty, thinking about how today is the last day of my free Amazon Prime trial. *sniffle* I’m not quite sad enough to pony up the yearly fee, you understand, but let’s just say I’m feeling a little wistful.

Also, I’m feeling like I want to get every last bit of free-two-day-shipping goodness out of it before it’s gone. Heh.

I’m digging this Playskool Toys Promotion where any combination of eligible items gets you an additional $5 off of $50 at checkout. Granted, $5 isn’t much, but check out the discounts already going on—they’ve got the iconic Busy Ball Popper already at 41% off, and this Walk N Ride for 55% off.

For the older kids, they’ve just marked down the hot new Pokemon DS games—SoulSilver and HeartGold are down to just $32 and $28, respectively. In the meantime, the whole family can get their groove on with Just Dance for the Wii, which is down to $24.54 and has great reviews. (Oh, man… be sure to watch the videos on the Just Dance page. Hilarious!)

And it can all be here in time for the weekend. And then it’s back to Super Saver Slow As Molasses Shipping. Sigh.

Another shot at your silverware (and other stuff)

Some of you looked longingly at last week’s deal on silverware sets at Oneida but didn’t partake for one reason or another—the timing wasn’t right, or they didn’t have what you wanted/needed, or whatever. Not every deal is for every person at every time, of course. But if you missed out and felt kind of bummed about it, here’s another chance to scoop up a deal over there: Today (still March 31st) only, use coupon code BL15 to take 15% off your order at Oneida.

Did you know Oneida makes cookware and bakeware? I didn’t. Probably because I was too busy drooling all over the silverware.
