Tell your old vacuum to suck it

Is there anyone left on the planet who wants a Dyson but doesn’t have one, yet? I mean, besides me?

Today Buy.com has the Dyson DC24 Limited Edition Blueprint vacuum for $300 shipped. And yeah, $300 is a lot of money for anything, but for reference, the same vacuum is going for around $400 at Amazon.

Is this the Holy Grail of vacuums? I don’t honestly know, but my friends who have Dysons certainly haven’t stopped talking about them. And if I was going to buy one, I kind of appreciate how this version isn’t retina-searing yellow.

It’s a message of cuteness

Goodness, I haven’t remembered to check the Company Store Sale of the Day in forever, but I sure am glad I did, today. They’ve got a whole assortment of messenger bags for just $8 apiece, and they’re adorable. Perfect for that hip little girl in your life.

Ship it for free with coupon code 7daysfree, too. Just think—you could pick one up now and bust it out before the new school year starts in the Fall, and you’d be a total hero. Nice work.

Pamper yourself

Today (Monday, March 8th, 2010) only, Bath and Body Works is offering free shipping on any order with coupon code SHIP4FREE. There’s pages of stuff in the clearance section, so who knows, maybe today’s the day you get to smell pretty.

Uh, not that you don’t normally smell pretty. I’m sure you smell great. You know what I meant, right?

I’m just going to go stand over here, now.

You go ahead, I’ll just wait here, barefoot

Someone left a comment last week asking me just how many pairs of shoes I have. I suppose it’s logical to conclude I’m some sort of minor Imelda Marcos based upon my deep love of pretty shoes, but the truth is that I don’t actually have all that many pairs of shoes compared to most women I know. For one thing, I window shop a lot. For another, I often shop for the rest of my family (fulfilling my shoe jones without actually outfitting myself). And finally, I’m pretty good about rotating through my closet and donating stuff I haven’t worn in a long time.

Be all of that as it may, I was, um, in my closet yesterday realizing that I’m about to capacity until the next clean-out, so I am not shopping for shoes right now. Even though today’s deals at 6pm.com include New Balance, Dansko, Clarks… um, is it warm in here? No? Just me? Ahem.

Okay, well, you go shop and have a good time. Just, uh, come back and tell me if you got something good. I need a little vicarious thrill to tide me over.

Snuggle up

I think we can all agree that Spring appears to be on its way, but we may have to endure just a little more winter until it gets here. Plus, I’m pretty sure it’s coming back next year, too. With that in mind, I had a hearty giggle and then a “hey, what a great idea” moment today over at the Target Daily Deals, because check it out—they’ve got assorted character “cuddle wraps” for just $8.49 shipped.

You know what those are, right? They’re snuggies for kids. With characters. Brilliant. And when you use coupon code URTYJLI8 the price drops to under $8 apiece. I know a few little kids who would love those for chilly Saturday mornings of cartoon-watching.

Come to think of it… I’m assuming they’re kid-sized. Maybe they’re for adults! Hee.

Saturday deals

Gooooood morning! Let’s see if there are any deals to tickle your fancy out there today….

The Amazon Gold Box has a 640GB Western Digital hard drive for just $85, today. Not a bad price for a big hunk of extra storage.

Need a universal remote? Check out the bargain-basement price on the one in the Target Daily Deals (and remember code URTYJLI8 for that extra 10% off, too).

The giant Outlet Sale at Altrec is going on now (with tons of savings on Winter gear), plus the Winter Footwear and Clothing Blowout is on at Sportsman’s Guide (and don’t be afraid when you see the banner proclaiming they sell discount ammunition—in addition to selling hardcore hunter’s gear, they also have a nice assortment of cold-weather gear and other “regular guy” kinds of stuff).

Speaking of boots, if you hop on over to Crocs.com, you’ll find an assortment of new models for Spring, sure, but also a bunch of boots in the Outlet. No matter what you buy, coupon code GETROCKIN to ship your order for free.

Free shipping on your $75+ order is back at Kohls, plus it’s Super Saturday, plus there’s Kohls Cash right now ($10 for every $50 you spend). Woo! Have a Kohls charge card? Use code FUN2BMVC to ship any size order for free, along with KC15OFF for 15% off.

Do I even need to point out all the pretty shoe deals at 6pm.com this weekend? That’s what I thought.

I’ll be back later with a contest winner and a new chance to win. Try to stay out of trouble until then!

TGIF, now with a winner, too

Has it been an extra-long week, or is it just me? Just me…? I can believe that. Before I get into the Amazon Friday Sale and related items, I’ll tell you that at the end of this I’ll have a contest winner for you. Suspense!

But first, the sale: I keep waiting for the sale to be expanded again, but so far, no dice. Hmph. Also, they seem determined to offer the same items every week until we collapse in despair. (Note: I am close to doing so.)

At least there’s some great deals over at 6pm.com to keep me busy, even though I have probably reached my shoe limit for the month (sad, seeing as how we’ve nearly the whole month to go, yet).

Got a comic nut at your house? Check out today’s Deal of the Day at Graveyard Mall: 50 assorted DC comics for just $10! You’re not going to get collectibles, but for a comic lover it’s hard to argue with 50 for just ten bucks. My son may just pony up his own cash for that one.

Meanwhile, the Target Daily Deals have yet another adorable dog bed set that I covet, even though my dog can most often be found napping on my lap (the spoiled pooch). Don’t forget coupon code URTYJLI8 for your extra 10% off!

Now: Who’s our lucky winner of the MikaRose contest? The random number generator has spoken, and it selected… lucky number 377, Christina Fisher, who says she loves the Alexia dress. Congratulations, Christina—please check your email! You’ll be receiving a MikaRose gift certificate so that you can buy your favorite dress!

Everyone who didn’t win, but who’s now wanting to go shop at MikaRose, I have good news—the owners have generously created a coupon just for us! Just use code WANTNOT for 15% off your purchase. Big, big thanks to the lovely folks at MikaRose for both the prize donation and the coupon code.

Tomorrow I’ll have the first GoodNites contest winner for you, and another chance to win a prize pack with them. Because I’m a giver.

Have an awesome Friday, everyone!

Gadgetty

My name is Mir, and I think red kitchen utensils are sexy. I’m not afraid to say it. (But, uh, please don’t hold it against me.)

Today’s Meijer Steal of the Day is a 6-piece KitchenAid gadget set for $29.99 shipped. In red. Rawr!

For purposes of comparison, the same set is currently around $45 shipped from Amazon.

I especially like that ergonomic spatula. It’s kind of futuristic looking.

As you wish, your majesty

Sadly, it’s going to be a long time before my kids get to be the rulers of their own castles, as they remain convinced they deserve to be. But, happily, right now My Sims Kingdom for the DS is down to under $9 at Amazon (free Super Saver Shipping and Prime eligible!), so maybe when Easter rolls around they’ll get to at least pretend to be in charge, for a little while.

(Should I be feeling extra snarky, I’ll pair the game with a plastic tiara for my daughter. Hee.)

More shoe savings

I know, who could imagine we need more shoe deals, right? But as much as I love 6pm.com, I sometimes have trouble finding what I want for my kids, there. (I never have any trouble finding shoes for me, however….)

So I hopped on over to Famous Footwear, which has several advantages over 6pm, particularly for kids’ shoes. First of all, if you buy three or more pairs, shipping is free. Second of all, I can always manage to buy three or more pairs, because I have a local Famous Footwear and you can do returns there (just sayin’). Third, right now you can use coupon code BLOOM for 20% off your order.

And finally—and this is key—I discovered that searching the “Sale” category doesn’t actually show you all of the sale shoes. (Why? I have no idea. Site glitch, I’m guessing.) When I searched the sale shoes for my son, I didn’t find anything I wanted. When I just searched boys’ athletics, though, I found him a pair of New Balance sneakers for $40 off (that hadn’t shown up in the Sale section). I used the 20% off, ordered three pairs (what? my daughter needed shoes, too), and congratulated myself on another great bargain find.
