Killer
Every now and then there’s a show on TV that I somehow never start watching, and then as everyone raves about how awesome it is, I’m left feeling like I can’t possibly start watching now because I’ve missed the beginning and everything is ruined.
(Or something like that.)
Recently the show I keep hearing about is Dexter, which is—I think—about a serial killer with a conscience. You know, a nice family show. Heh. Anyway, hence my running across what one might call a killer deal (see what I did there?) at Amazon: Get seasons 1 through 3 of Dexter for just $61 shipped.
I’m tempted, but then again, we’re only about halfway through West Wing and eventually I am going to die of old age before watching all of the television I want to….
Big savings + free shipping = BFF
The big Winter Sale at Eddie Bauer is still going strong, and today and tomorrow you can save even more when you combine the savings with coupon code WINTER for free shipping on your entire order. They still tack on that $3 handling fee, but at this point I mostly view that as a minor annoyance, like gnats or Congress.
And no, posting this has nothing to do with the fact that it’s currently 20 degrees outside here in Georgia. You know, the place I moved to in order to escape the cold? Hmph.
Stay healthy, stay thrifty
Cold and flu season is upon us, plus your mama said to take your vitamins. (And supplements. And to wear a coat, and for goodness’ sake, do you have to wear so much lipstick? You’re such a pretty girl!) (Sorry, channeling mothers everywhere there, for a minute.) Of course pretty much whatever you need—vitamins, supplements, even cooking spices!—can be had over at Puritan’s Pride, where they’re currently running their buy 1/get 1, or buy 2/get 3 promotion.
Make it even better—if you’re really stocking up, use coupon code TAPNY10 for $10 off your $100+ order, or code TAPNY15 for $15 off your $150+ order. Codes are good through January 10th, 2010.
Undies and sweatshirts and socks, oh my
There’s still time to stock up on basics at a discount; Hanes.com is offering an extra 20% off clearance, and shipping on your $50+ order is free.
I feel it only right to mention that at the beginning of the year I stocked up on fancypants uniform shirts for my daughter, and then a few months later I grabbed a few polos from Hanes during a sale. Guess which shirts still look like new? Hanes gets a thumbs up from me, even without all those clearance bargains.
Cheap eats to stock the pantry
There’s a new crop of Amazon Manager’s Special groceries up right now, and if you see something you’d be buying, anyway, this may be an easy way to stock up on the cheap.
I’m seeing plenty of items in the Snacks, Cookies and Candy section, for example, that would make me a lot more popular with my children…. Organic/natural options, too. Yum.
I love Target. I said it.
You show me something cuter than the ruffled cardigan that’s the featured daily deal at Target today, and I’ll show you some pigs that have mastered flight. I’m just sayin’.
(If you go get one, too, please call me so we can make sure we don’t wear them on the same day. Because that would just be silly.)
Just a little something, maybe
So last month I was all about “because you’ve been good this year, too,” and I feel sort of sad that now it’s January and I can no longer use that as an excuse. However, I am nothing if not resourceful—check this out:
You know, I bet you’re going to be really good this year, too!
See? It’s true, right?
So why not cruise on over to Coldwater Creek and find yourself something pretty? You can use coupon code 75SALE to take a whopping 75% off even Outlet prices, and let’s face it; everyone is good enough for that.
Dress him up
Does your dapper dude need more duds? (Sorry; I think I’m still experiencing the aftereffects of that post on Hobby Lobby….) This week Jos. A. Bank is having a gigantic 70% off sales event, which means all sorts of deals on both business and business casual clothes for him.
Shipping is automatically free on $175+, and their quality is outstanding. I mean, I may be a little biased, but my husband did wear a Jos. A. Bank suit when we got married, and I don’t mind telling you that he looked awesome. Hee.
Pre-season dose of cuteness
I try to avert my eyes, but I get sucked in each and every time. So I may as well tell you that the Pre-Season Sale at Hanna Andersson is on now, with savings on the newest styles for Spring and plenty of Swedish cotton cuteness for the entire family.
Just don’t look at the baby stuff unless you’re prepared to melt into a puddle of goo.
Dine out, keep your cash in
Today and tomorrow (through January 5th, 2010) (I just did my first 2009 typo…), you can use coupon code FIFTY at Restaurant.com to take 50% off your purchase price. That’ll net you $25 dining certificates for just $5 out of pocket, which is like finding a $20 bill in those pants you haven’t worn since two years ago.
For those of you new to Restaurant.com, there will be 60%, 70%, and possibly even 80% coupons available later on in the month. However, some restaurants release certificates on a monthly quota basis, and sometimes they’re sold out later on. These 50% coupons at the beginning of the month are a good way to buy certificates for those restaurants. Just sayin’.
Happy dining!
