I miss price adjustments
Remember back when Amazon would do nearly limitless price adjustments when the price dropped on something? Man, those were the days.
If you’re in the market for a plasma TV, you might want to check out this 50″ Panasonic VEIRA, which is currently $670 with free shipping.
Which is a pretty killer deal on a big set with great reviews.
Which is also $30 cheaper than it was on Black Friday.
Which is making me feel a wee bit bitter right now. Ahem.
Are you watching those Lightning Deals?
Honestly, I may never get anything done ever again. Thanks a lot, Amazon. But just in case you’re not as obsessed with the current Holiday Lightning Deals (motto: Like the regular Lightning Deals, if they consumed a lot of crack and had many Lightning Deal babies) as I am, you may want to go take a look over there right now.
They have, among other things, a 4-pack of Melissa & Doug Wooden toddler puzzles complete with storage rack for just $17, which is a crazy good price on an awesome item. Scroll through the deals to find it; it’s several past where the page loads.
I suspect I am going to be really, really tired by the time Christmas arrives.
More dailies to watch
You know how I love a good daily deal. And right now Discovery Channel Store is doing three deals every day, usually on very cool stuff.
Like today, for example, I’m thinking about how it’d be a cold day you-know-where before I allow an ant farm in my house, even if it does have cool see-through gel in it. Ahem.
Orders of $75+ ship for free with code FREESHIP. Heebie jeebies from insects are always available at no extra charge.
More cheap Threadless
Hey, they decided to do another $9 day at Threadless! All day today (starting at 11:00 a.m. Eastern) Ts are just $9 apiece, with free shipping on your $50+ order.
So if you missed the last sale, consider this your second chance.
Video game goodness for today
Have you been keeping track of the 18 Days of Video Games Discounts at Amazon? Today they’ve got two different offers to save you some bucks—just scroll down the page there to see them.
First, they’re offering a free copy of Disney Sing It when you buy Disney Sing It: Pop Hits Bundle, which is a pretty good deal.
But even better, it says they’re offering the Club Penguin DS Collector’s Bundle for $35, but when you click through it’s actually only $10 for the entire bundle! That one may be a price mistake; I’d grab it up quick if you want one. Heh.
Cheapest way to get Arrested
Hahahaha… oh, I just love this. When I looked and saw that Arrested Development is in the Amazon Gold Box today for just $29, I thought to myself, “Hmmmm… I know that’s been in the Gold Box before. I wonder when it was?”
A handy little search later and I discovered that the last time it was discounted this way was… one year ago tomorrow. Apparently it’s a once-a-year thing, and anyone with a family understands why the holiday season is a perfect time for a show about family dysfunction. Heh.
It’s the perfect gift for the passive-aggressive in your family. Or, heck, just plain aggressive-aggressive. Or for you, while you avoid your family….
Paypal for your teen
Been thinking of letting your kid open his own Paypal account? You’re braver than I am. (Then again, mine isn’t a teen yet.) December is a great time to take the plunge—not only do Paypal Student Accounts allow you to oversee their activity, sign up this month and get $10 deposited to their account to get them started.
Frankly the thought of letting either of my children loose on eBay makes me feel a little bit nauseous. But like I said, I still have a few years to beat them into submission mold them into responsible humans. Ahem.
Britax, baby
If you’ve been wanting a Britax car seat, but have been shrinking from the typical Britax price, check it out: Target currently has the Britax Marathon convertible car seat in the Hannah pattern available for just $150 shipped. That’s over $100 off, and about the cheapest I’ve seen one of these. It’s a particularly good deal with the free shipping, because these suckers are heavy.
(Don’t forget: Any time you’re placing an order over $50 at Target, place the items in your cart and then come back and click through this link here for an additional $5 off!)
If you have a little girl, it’s perfect. If you have a little boy… well… maybe he likes flowers…?
Saturday deals
Goooood morning! I’ll have your Dork Diaries winners in just a little bit. But in the meantime, I’d hate for you to miss out on any of today’s opportunities to save big.
It’s that time again—why not stuff some stockings with savings certificates from Restaurant.com? Coupon code PRESENT will save you 70% through December 8th, 2009, plus each certificate will come with a $15 gift certificate to Red Envelope! So you’ll get $25 worth of fine dining and $15 towards unique gifts, all for just a cool $3 out-of-pocket. That’s my kind of deal. (The Red Envelope bonus has been discontinued.)
I almost don’t want to say it out loud… but… I think the Amazon toy markdowns are beginning, finally… if you’ve been wanting the Rose Petal Cottage, how does $30 (down from $100) grab you? I’m keeping an eye on the Lightning Deals in Toys today, too. Looks like a deal on the Leapfrog Didj is coming up.
The Friends and Family Sale at Macy’s is still going on—you have the rest of the weekend to use code MACYSFRIEND to save 25% and get free shipping on $99+. (If you want to shop in-store, you can print out a pass from that link, too.)
Check out the Target Daily Deals for a kids’ telescope, warm boots, and more.
I think they’re still having technical difficulties with their daily SuperSpecial “36 Days of Joy” deal over at 6pm.com (I can’t get in yet today), but in the meantime, they’ve got deals on Keen, Stuart Weitzman, and more.
Hey, it’s a sale over at Kohls, what a surprise. Heh. Free shipping on purchases of $75+, automatically, and code SAVE4XMAS takes 15% off for everyone, I think. (But I have a Kohls card, so if it doesn’t work without one, please let me know.)
Lands’ End had a new free shipping code available—use code BRISK with PIN 3224.
Will that keep you busy for a while? I hope so! Back shortly with contest winners and another chance to win.
Gee, Friday, I haven’t shopped Amazon. . .
… in something like ten hours. Thank goodness you’re here!
(No. No, I don’t have a problem. I can stop any time I want to. I, uh, just don’t want to.)
Anyway! Yes, it’s true—in addition to their Hot Holiday Deals section (and all of those crazy-making Lightning Deals) (I may just have my eye on an upcoming deal on a certain pink watch for a certain tween), Amazon is doing a Friday Sale today. Hooray!
I sort of love these reindeer ornaments. Don’t judge me; they’re cute.
Next to the Eneloop battery chargers, this La Crosse charger is the most popular/highest rated one I’ve seen, and today’s price of $35 is the lowest I’ve seen it go.
If you’ve been waiting for a deal on a food processor, you could do a lot worse than this (extremely shiny) KitchenAid 12-cup model at $150 after mail-in rebate. Next lowest price I see is still around $200.
Just a little shout-out to my fellow Curly Girlies: I’ve been using Tigi Curls Rock Curl Amplifier for a few months now, and I want to have its curly little frizz-free babies, if you know what I mean (and I think you do). It runs me $10-$12 a bottle, normally, so I will definitely be picking up that 2-pack for just $15.29 after Subscribe & Save. Love it.
Don’t forget to check out the Gold Box and this month’s assortment of 50100 (!) MP3 albums for just $5 each, too.
And now I must go beat feed the children. Hope you have a lovely day!
