Sew away sew away sew away
Been on the lookout for a cheap but decent sewing machine? Amazon’s Gold Box Deal today is a Brother 32-stitch machine for just under $80 shipped. The reviews are largely favorable, and it sure beats buying a fancy-schmancy machine if all you really need is something that will do a reasonable hem.
Coleman means camping
We’re leaving to go camping tomorrow, so it’s too late for me, but if you’re just getting ready to do some camping later on this summer, you might be interested to know that select Coleman products at Amazon are currently available with an automatic $20 savings off your $100+ purchase. Even if you’re not going to be camping, there’s coolers and chairs and a pretty good assortment of airbeds, too, if you’ve been looking for that sort of thing.
(And I plan to enjoy the great outdoors along with my laptop and mobile broadband, so don’t worry. I’ll be around.)
Pretty little blender
I like small things. They’re cute. They entice me. And so, yes, I’m hanging my head in shame, but I have been intrigued by the Magic Bullet blender ever since I saw the first TV commercial for it. It’s so cute! And everyone can have their own mug! And we love smoothies!
But I’ve never bought one, because they’re kind of pricey and just seem superfluous.
Today that might change. Right now Kohls has the Magic Bullet Express 17-piece set for just $39.99. Because I’m a Kohls card holder, I can use coupon code MVCFIFTEEN for another 15% off and code MVC9990 for free shipping—getting me that adorable little blender for $34 shipped. As a point of reference, it’s currently $50 at Amazon. (Don’t have a Kohls card? You can use code THANKS9710 for an additional 10% off, and right now shipping is free on orders of $75+, if you have other shopping to do.)
I could be the smoothie queen with this, don’t you think?
I kind of like laundry, now
When we last checked in on the miracle that is Frigidaire making over my kitchen, I’d just gotten delivery of my first few appliances. And then I promptly left town without getting to play with them at all. Oh, the humanity!
And guess what I’m doing now? Getting ready to leave town! Again! But I’ve been home for a week, and you know what that means—my new washer and dryer and I have developed a very special relationship. I have done upwards of ten loads of laundry since my return, and I have learned a few things.
Like that I really can sit there and watch the washing machine rotate and be entranced. Hee.

Practically guilt-free chips
Amazon keeps running a special on salt and vinegar Kettle Chips, and I keep forking the sign of the cross at my monitor and telling Satan to get behind me. (Only, that totally backfires, because once he gets back there and sees my rear, he’s all, “C’mon, a few salt and vinegar chips are going to be barely noticeable on this wide load….”)
But! I can totally indulge my snacky side with the current Amazon deal on Terra Chips, because they’re made from natural, vitamin-packed ingredients like sweet potatoes and beets! And right now you can save a bundle; use coupon code TERR9959 to save 15%, then buy via Subscribe & Save for another 15% off and free shipping (you can always cancel your subscription later). They’re all already on sale, so the savings really add up.
Besides, who could fault you for eating beet chips? No one, that’s who.
Soon Target will be too ritzy for me
Um, does anyone else know when Target started carrying real purse brands? Last I knew, they featured only the finest options in canvas and pleather. And then I popped over there this morning to see what they had on the daily deal and lo and behold, in addition to a giant kids’ demolition play set, they have two Tignanello purses. Leather Tignanello purses. Cute ones! Go figure.
As always, their deals of the day come with free shipping. Though when I order from Target online I generally consider the shipping a small tax to pay for not stepping foot in the store and coming out with $50 worth of stuff I didn’t know I needed until I saw it. Ahem.
I do love alliteration
I am powerless against anything calling itself a “Summer Sale.” It just sounds so inviting.
Right now get up to half off all sorts of summer goodies at Old Navy, even though for many of you, summer has only just begun. Shipping is always a flat $7, though sadly I think they’ve changed the thing where throwing in some shoes from Piperlime makes it free. Hmph.
Nevertheless, I’m usually able to fill up my cart to where $7 for shipping seems like a bargain. Heh.
School will start again, eventually
I know that for many of you, summer vacation has only just begun. But school always comes back around again eventually—usually sooner than you’d think.
Guess what I just found out. Go on, guess! That’s right—my kids’ school has decided to go to uniforms. Oh joy, oh rapture. A little niggle in the back of my brain whispered, “Hey, don’t they carry uniforms at Lands’ End, that place where they guarantee everything forever…?” And not only do they carry uniforms, they have tons of ’em in the Overstocks right now. Even slim pants and shorts for the undernourished amongst us (ahem). And the best part is that Lands’ End—unlike many other uniform purveyors—actually make most of this stuff out of cotton. The folks making the all-polyester uniforms clearly never went to school in Georgia in August.
Use coupon code SALE and PIN 6179 for free shipping, and take care of back-to-school now before the mad rush in August. You’ll thank me later, I promise.
You didn’t have anything else to do today
… right?
I mean, you were hoping that it would be a Woot-Off day so that you could just sit at the computer all day, zombie-like, refreshing the page and hunting the elusive awesome bargain?
That’s what I thought.
Label me this
I think y’all must be a lot more organized than I am. It’s the only explanation I can come up with as to why everyone goes completely nuts whenever there’s a good deal on a label maker.
Well, prepare to faint with glee—today Buy.com is offering the Brother P-Touch PT-1280 label printer for just $11.99 shipped. (For reference, that’s another 45% off of Amazon’s current price.)
I know it’s summer, but keep in mind that these make awesome teacher gifts. Just sayin’.
