More shoes (because, why not?)
Just in case this morning’s sale at 6pm doesn’t do it for you, here’s another handy option (I am all about the handy, when it comes to enabling people to have more shoes):
Right now at Famous Footwear, shipping is always free when you buy three or more pairs of shoes. But you can use a coupon to enhance your savings (and by “enhance your savings” I of course mean “save even more, possibly while buying more stuff”). Choose code MAYSHIP for free shipping on any order, or code MAY20 for 20% off your entire order. These codes don’t stack, so you’ll have to figure out which one saves you more and act accordingly.
Of course, if you’re buying three or more pairs, take the automatic free shipping and use the 20% off code. Obviously.
For every thing a label, and every label a thing
I don’t know what it is y’all are doing, organizationally, that gets you so excited every time there’s a labelmaker deal, but far be it from me to keep you from your appointed labelling activities. Or something.
Behold: Today Buy.com is offering the Brother PT-80 Thermal Label Printer for just $13.99 shipped.
This is not one of the itty bitty handhelds; this is the larger model, kind of the king of the little labelmakers. (And we all know Buy.com’s “original price” is way inflated, but for comparison purposes, consider that it’s on sale at Amazon for $22; still a great deal at Buy.)
Go forth and label, folks.
Good morning! Got sandals?
Today’s daily deal at 6pm.com is all Lifestride shoes for $9.95 today only, heavy on the sandals.
That’s in addition to their other deals, which is several other brands on sale all week long. Because that’s what they do, at 6pm… they play the siren song of cheap shoes….
Cheap magazines get cheaper
You probably already know that Amazon can be a great resource for cheap magazine subscriptions, but the deals just got better—now they have an entire section of magazines eligible for an additional 50% off with coupon code MAYMAG50.
So, for example, a year of Good Housekeeping was just about $8, before, and with the coupon, it’s under $4. You can give ’em as gifts, too.
Oh, man. I loved Seventeen when I was in junior high. Of course now I’m so old I have no idea if that’s a popular thing anymore. (What I remember most: Endless ads for Gund stuffed animals—Gotta Getta Gund!—and for Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific shampoo.)
Another daily deal to watch
Did you know that Target now features a Daily Deal on their website? It’s true! Every day it’s a different deal, always offered with free shipping.
Today’s deal is a Dirt Devil plum cone broom vac, which appears to be both a broom vac and a separate hand vac for cleaning up little messes. You’ll get the whole shebang for $49.99 shipped, which is 44% off and cheaper than you could get just one of those, alone.
Buying other stuff, too? Don’t forget that going through this link will get you $5 off your $50+ order, so if you’re buying more, add the daily deal to your cart, then go through this second link to activate your coupon.
And happy cleaning, I guess!
Heat it up
Personally, I’m rather fond of my high-tech heating pad—it’s a sock filled with rice that I heat in the microwave. I know; I’m so fancy! But I suppose there might be a time when you don’t have access to a microwave, or maybe don’t want to be dealing with a tube sock filled with rice.
So I’ve always been a little curious about those instant-heat peel-and-stick patches, though not curious enough to buy them. Now I can try one for free, or at least snag the sample to put in the first aid kit.
If you haven’t yet Wii-ed
I know that most folks in the market for a Nintendo Wii have already bitten the bullet and made the purchase, but just in case you’ve been waiting or are on the fence: Yes, it’s true that there are hardly any “deals,” per se, on them. The Wii remains so in demand, Nintendo doesn’t need to offer discounts to sell them. However, there are occasionally bundle deals, and right now Amazon is offering the Wii Play bundle for $299.
Basically, you’re getting the console, an extra game (which is actually several different games, just like the standard Wii Sports that comes with the console), an extra wiimote and nunchuck, for $299. You’re saving a few bucks and getting stuff you’d probably buy, anyway.
And then you’ll be sucked into the Wii Dimension, and we can compare bowling scores. Hee.
Saturday deals
Good morning! I am supposed to be out picking strawberries with my family, right now. Unfortunately, it’s pouring outside. Darn Mother Nature and her drought-ending activities. Hmph. So now I have to look for deals, instead.
Did you know that there’s a huge closeout section at Cooking.com? And that they have a section of items that ship for free? In addition, there’s coupons—use C88966 for $15 off $100+, C88967 for $20 off $200+, or C94832 for $40 off $300+!
Need graduation announcements, thank-you cards, or anything else in the realm of personalized office supplies you’d rather not spend a lot of money on? Vistaprint to the rescue, with their Dads and Grads Sale; items are up to 90% off.
This weekend, Lands’ End offers four ways to save: choose from $10 tees, 20% off shorts and skorts, $30 water shoes, or 40% off select toner swimsuits. Don’t forget that code ISLAND and PIN 5262 are still working for free shipping!
Did you know that dresses Under $150; maybe this would save you a trip to the dreaded mall…?
Today’s Amazon Gold Box deal is 55% off the Apollo Health DayBreak Duo dawn/dusk simulator. It works with your existing bedside lamp to wake you up gradually, or—even better—to convince your child that no, really, it’s time for bed now. Brilliant.
I’m off to… um… stay dry. Have a wonderful Saturday!
Better late than never, I guess
Hey, guess what finally showed up? The Amazon Friday Sale! But, um, I was out at the pool with the kids and pretty much dripped chlorine all over it. Sorry about that.
I love this Cuisinart anodized cookware set for $131 shipped—it’s high-quality stuff, and a big enough set that you won’t need to buy add-on pieces.
Everyone’s favorite breadmaker is down under $100, again. This is a handy item if you like homemade bread and don’t have a crazy woman who likes to “bake off the stress” living in your house. Stop looking at me like that.
This queen-size mattress pad is on sale today because I spent $5 more on it last week. You’re welcome.
Chocolate chip Snackimals, 18 bags for $9.77 shipped with Subscribe & Save. I guess technically they’re still junk food, but they’re all natural junk food. Plus, they’re yummy.
Okay, now we can head into the weekend. Phew!
I find myself feeling oddly bereft
So I sat down this morning and clicked through to the Amazon Friday Sale only to discover that… it isn’t there. I mean, it says The Friday Sale, and there’s a link to the current 50 MP3 albums for just $5 each, but other than that…? And now I don’t know what to do.
Way to harsh out my Friday, Amazon!
I guess I’ll just click through the Outlet deals…. Huh. Oddly unfulfilling. Hmph.
Maybe I’ll just shop the Overstock weekend deals (take that, Amazon)—this weekend they’re offering 10% off sheets, 10% off Lawn & Garden tools, and 10% off duvets and covers. Plus shipping is just $1, all weekend long.
It’s time for the Memorial Day Clearance Sale at Scholastic! Save up to 75%, plus use coupon code SSMDS09 for free shipping on $39+.
And now I have to go wander around aimlessly, pining for the Friday Sale.
