That’s a big box
So, you know I check the Amazon Gold Box just about every day, right? Some of the deals lately have been… less than exciting. But check it out—Amazon is doing something different today.
Today, instead of the deal being one item, it’s an assortment of children’s shoes—over 70 pairs in all—each priced at just $9.89 for today only. They’re all eligible for Prime/Super Saver Shipping, so it’s a great time to stock up.
I’d like to see that gold box. I think it’s more like a gold storage locker, but they probably didn’t have time to make a whole new graphic for it.
Hey, it’s an Overstock coupon
Recently Overstock pretty much stopped doing coupons, and I wept. Well, maybe I didn’t really cry. But I absolutely got a little misty. I’m just saying.
So when I found this one, it was sort of unexpected and exciting, like Overstock was sending a special message just to me. And that message was: Don’t go, we still love you!
Anyway. If you’re buying something like a piece of furniture of jewelry, you can go through this link to get $10 off your $250 purchase, just so that you’ll feel ever better about the great deal you’re getting. Remember, shipping at Overstock is always just $2.99 regardless of your order size.
When in doubt, I shop at Kohls
It’s true, you know. They always have some sort of sale going on. I always feel redundant, posting about them, because it sort of feels like the same post over and over, but I can’t help it. They have decent stuff and coupons and I’m good enough and smart enough and goshdarnit, people like me in spite of my Kohls addiction.
Okay, so here’s today’s deal: They’ve just added tons of new items to the clearance section, plus today and tomorrow shipping is a flat $4.99 on every order. (This is huge, because Kohls’ normal shipping costs can be, ahem, a bit of a buzzkill.)
Coupons: Kohls charge card holders can use code MVC1797 for free shipping and stack that with EXTRAKC15 for an additional 15% off. Anyone can use code NEW7266 for 10% off any order, or code SAVE15FEB for 15% off in the Home department.
The sock monster has been in town, recently. I’m off to buy some clearance socks….
Cooking Indian?
I didn’t know I liked Indian food until I was well into my 30s, because apparently I’ve led a sheltered life. And then I discovered it and now my family has coconut rice coming out of their ears, because the Indian food, man, I do love it so.
Here’s another Amazon grocery special for this month, if you want to stock up and save, and you need a few things to go with your coconut rice: Select Kitchens of India items are already on sale, then come down 30% with coupon code KTCHENND, plus another 15% (and free shipping!) with Subscribe & Save.
I’m ordering some curry pastes. Mmmmm….
It’s in the bag
Need a new bag? Maybe your purse has seen better days… like, say, in 1990? Or you need a new tote that’ll fit your computer as well as all of the things your kids hand you to “hold for just a sec?” I feel you.
Through the end of February, eBags is offering 10% off $50+ and 15% off $100+ orders, automatically. Their winter sale is still going on, too, with prices of up to 70% off. Could be a great way to score a deal on something you really need.
Or a justifying deal on something you just want. Either way.
Mmmmm. . . sticky fruit
My kids have braces and so cannot have most of the delicious snacks and candies they once loved, but I think the thing they miss most is fruit leather. And now I’m missing it, too, because check out this awesome deal: Shop Select Stretch Island or Fruitabu snacks at Amazon and take an additional $10 off $29 with coupon code FRUITSNK. Save an additional 15% with Subscribe & Save (and get free shipping), too, for a net cost of something like $.33 a snack.
Go have one for my kids, while you’re there. Just remember to brush, afterward.
Flip for a lower price
If you’ve been jonesing for a 60-minute Flip Camcorder, but been feeling put-off by the $130ish price tag (depending on where you look), this one’s for you: Today Buy.com is offering the refurbished 60-minute Flip Video Ultra for just $89.99 shipped.
This would make a delightful Valentine’s Day gift. Just, um, please don’t tell me what you plan to use it for. That’s between you and… whoever. Really.
Backpacks shouldn’t be crippling
Okay, I know I just posted a free shipping code for Lands’ End a few days ago (code MENS and PIN 6724), but I thought I’d take this opportunity to point out a great deal there.
If you’ve been reading me for any length of time at all, you know that I’m a big believer in buying a quality backpack from a manufacturer that offers a lifetime guarantee. My kids have LL Bean rolling packs that I bought on clearance, and Bean has already replaced them once, no questions asked (defective handles).
Of course, now my kids have these awesome rolling packs that I thought were such a good idea because they, you know, roll, but at their school they are not allowed to roll their bags. And that means they have to carry them. And it turns out that the rolling bags—what with the wheels and the handles—are kind of heavy. And my kids are kind of small.
So now I’m shopping for new backpacks. (We’ll still use these for trips—there’s nothing better than a rolling backpack when you take a kid on a plane!) Lo and behold, Lands’ End has some awesome ones marked way down. Go to Lands’ End and search for ergo to find their ergonomic backpacks in a variety of colors. Originally nearly $40, they’re now just $11.99! (There’s a junior version, too, for smaller kids, for $14.99.) They’re ergonomically designed, with plenty of padding, and curved straps.
With the free shipping code, I can get them new school-ready packs with a lifetime guarantee for less than an uncomfortable, no-name bag at Target would’ve cost me.
Today is a good day.
Say it with cookies
Valentine’s Day is coming, and you know what that means: For an entire day, nothing has any calories! Yayyyyyyy! (What? What’s that? Sorry, I can’t hear you.)
Right now you can order anything at David’s Cookies and get 15% off with coupon code VDAYLS15A. You’ll look like you planned ahead and knew exactly what the recipient wanted… and then, they’ll probably share with you. Yum.
No more “surprises”
Do you have children? In my 10+ years as a mother I’ve learned many things, most notably that unconditional love means catching vomit in your hands occasionally, and also that most children “forget” to flush the toilet.
(Wow, this post is turning out to be a lot more disgusting than I’d planned….)
Anyway, if you have that little toilet-flushing issue at your house (or if you’re extremely germ-phobic), perhaps you’d be interested in today’s Deal of the Day at Graveyard Mall—it’s a hands-free toilet flusher! To make your house just like a truck stop! But, you know, a really clean truck stop!
It’s possible that that second cup of coffee I had this morning was a mistake.
