Fly away with Tinkerbell!

Have a little one who’s fairy-crazy? (Hey, what’s not to like—there’s magic, there’s lots of pink, and there’s wings. That’s pretty much everything most little girls I know require.) Well, the new Tinkerbell DVD is out today, and if you buy it from Best Buy it’s just $15.99; or, buy it along with another select Disney disc, and you’ll get the pair for $30.

Wings not included, but still a pretty good deal.

Shipping savings, today only

The bad news is that in order to get free shipping today at Macy’s, you’ll need to get your order up to $75 to qualify.

The good news is that pretty much if you close your eyes and point at something, at Macy’s, you’re over $75. How convenient!

So: Today (October 28th, 2008) only, enjoy free shipping on your $75+ Macy’s order with coupon code CELEBRATE. (And actually, I kid. There’s lots on sale, and I’m a sucker for clearance clothing at Macy’s… particularly all the pretty, pretty dresses that I will never need to wear because I pretty much work from home in my pajamas.)

If you need more Amazon

I just realized that today’s deals are very Amazon-heavy. I’m not sure why that is. Either they’re starting to come through with a lot of good deals, or I’m just getting lazy in my old age.

Let’s not speculate on which it is.

Anyway, if you didn’t get your fill at last week’s Friday Sale, they’re having a One Day Kitchen & Home Sale that’s got a few notable deals. (I am still eying this Breadman Breadmaker….)

And if it’s toys you’re after, check out this Martian Matter Mega Set at 63% off. Squishy, gooey fun!

Nintendo DS deals

Does Junior have a DS, and you’re looking for some new games? Or does your kid want a Nintendo DS this Christmas?

Amazon is currently running a couple of promotions: First, the DSs are $10 off. That’s good, but not great. (If you’re willing to suffer through some Black Friday shopping, you may do better with that.) The real advantage here is that they have all colors in stock, which is rarely the case. Second, select games are buy 2, get 1 free. If you’re looking to buy multiple games, that one’s actually a pretty good deal.

Happy DSing!

Oprah loves the Kindle

So I guess last week on Oprah, everyone in the audience got a free Amazon Kindle because it’s one of her favorite things and you know, why not give the little people a little present…?

(A little $359 present. Of course.)

If you’ve had your eye on the Kindle, Oprah’s infatuation is about to pay off for you, even if you weren’t in the audience last week. All this week, if you purchase a Kindle, you can use coupon code OPRAHWINFREY to save $50. That’s only a 14% savings or so, but on an item that basically never goes on sale.

I would love to own one of these, actually. Just probably not enough to plunk down over three hundred dollars for it. (Confidential to Oprah: Call me!)

Eating out shouldn’t be spooky

Yes, it’s time again—and this time, it’s the end-of-month savings that make this practically free money. Through Halloween, visit Restaurant.com and save 80% on your purchase with coupon code TREATS. That means you can get $25 worth of dining for just $2! That sounds like a perfectly adequate excuse for a night on the town, to me.

(Now, what’s scary is those leftovers I found pushed waaaaaaaayyyy to the back of the fridge. Yikes.)

All aboard for big fun

I will never forget the year my train-obsessed son got a train table for Christmas. Once he saw it, the morning of opening presents was done, for him—he had no interest in anything other than playing with his trains. I can’t think of any other gift so completely adored and utilized by the kids.

If you have a kiddo who digs trains—or even one who might like a fun place to work on Lego or jigsaw puzzles—this is the deal for you. Because right now eToys is offering their large Yukon train table for just $60 and free shipping. Use coupon code ETNLTR for an additional $5 off and get it for $55 shipped! You get the table large enough to accommodate Thomas and all his friends, plus two drawers underneath in which to store everything when it’s time to clean up. Fun for them, tidy for you.

Make sure you have the camcorder ready when the kids come downstairs. I’m just sayin’.

Bakugan alert

The 6 packs of Battle Brawlers are back in stock at Amazon for $22.99. Grab ’em before they sell out, or pay the ridiculous mark-up they’re going for elsewhere.

Unless you know of a way to brainwash a child out of the Bakugan love, of course. And if you do know how to do that, please email me.

Saturday deals

Good morning! Well, I guess the morning’s nearly over, now, but apparently I am getting lazier in my old age. Sorry about that.

Here’s a few deals to check out as you wander through your weekend….

My daughter informs me that “all the cool kids wear Skechers.” I have informed her that “all the cool kids’ parents love them more than I love her.” Except that right now at 6pm, all Skechers footwear is $24.95 or less, so I get a shot at being cool. (Plenty of other shoes are on sale there, too.) Meanwhile, if Mama needs a new pair of shoes, over at Endless there are multiple specials going on, including 20% off if you buy two or more pairs of boots.

There’s still time to pick up a costume from the DisneyShopping Halloween Boootique, if you’re scrambling. Not that I would know anything about scrambling for costumes. (Ignore this stitchwitchery I have stuck all over my fingers.)

Picking up something at Macy’s this weekend? Ship your $99+ order for free with coupon code 150BDAY.

This weekend only, Best Buy is offering free shipping on $99+, automatically. Feel free to buy me a television. (Hahahaha! Just kidding. I already have a TV. But if you see a Wii Fit….)

Don’t forget that—continuing in the fine, if somewhat confusing, tradition of O-Day actually lasting close to a week—you can still save 7.5% all weekend long at Overstock, simply by going through that there link. (Discount will not apply to media like DVDs and CDs, but will come in very handy on things like furniture and clothing and such.)

Enjoy, and just think about this—it’s just about a month until the entire world loses its mind and enters a shopping frenzy before the holidays. You’re so pretty and smart, you’re going to be just about done by then. Right? Right!

One week until total sugar implosion

Yeah, um, it’s only a week until Halloween. Now if you don’t find that scary, you’re probably not afraid of anything!

Fortunately, we have the Amazon Friday Sale to comfort us… for today, anyway.

There’s slim pickings, today, but let’s see what we can find.

Okay, I’ll confess: I bought these shoes from last week’s sale. They are incredible (I got the bronze—I’ll bet you didn’t know I have a thing for snakeskin). Not exactly an everyday shoe, but the next time I need to get all fancied up, I’m ready. And they’re $26.69 with an available $10 magazine rebate, so that’s just $8 a shoe! (See Mir justify. Justify, Mir, justify!)

Cookware sets are back in the spotlight—choose from the 9-piece Calphalon hard-anodized set or the 14-piece Cuisinart stainless set for just $129.99.

I won’t pretend to understand this Oster food steamer—I think steaming things on the stovetop isn’t all that hard—but the reviews are great and the price is the lowest I’ve seen it ($25.99).

It’s a floor wax! No, it’s a dessert topping! Hey kids, it’s both! Or, in the case of this 4-in-1 covered plate with dome, it’s a cake holder, it’s a punch bowl, it’s a chip-n-dip, it’s a lawnmower! (Okay, you got me. I made up the last one.) For $19.99, it could be awesome.

Not only is this 18-piece Pyrex food storage set marked down to just under $20, it’s eligible for the 4-for-3 promotion right now.

This lightweight Dirt Devil carpet steamer gets great reviews (most comparing it to a machine three times the cost), and is just $89.99 shipped.

Now even your coffee can be a divisive political statement! Choose from McCain blend or Obama blend! (This would be a pretty funny office gag, actually. Set both varieties out there with the other k-cups and watch the fun unfold!)

I couldn’t resist this one: What do you picture when you think about paying over two grand for a watch? Elegance? Diamonds? A big cartoon shark face? Um. Yeah.

And with that freshly-imprinted on your brain, go recover by perusing the Friday Five—five MP3 albums that are just $5 each, today only.

I’m off to work on Halloween costumes. Because I’m a giver. And because the children are starting to catch on about me not actually being superwoman.
