Get smart about eating out

Why yes, I do have yet another Restaurant.com coupon code for you! Because I am all about the giving! And because it’s so easy and simple and cheap, I cannot think of a single reason why you wouldn’t go ahead and save big bucks on dining out.

Even cheapskates like us enjoy a nice meal on the town now and then, you know.

Anyway! Go to Restaurant.com and find restaurants in your area, then use coupon code SMART to take 50% off your total. You’ll have $25 worth of dining for just $5 out of pocket, and a handy excuse to take someone out on a date.

What price virus protection?

The lovely Corey writes:

Lovely Mir,
My Norton Antivirus (For PC…not yet an Apple girl.) is about to expire. It feels like with all the kids going off to college there should be a deal out there for me. I prefer Norton Antivirus (for up to 3 computers) but am willing to try something new, if it is well reviewed and cheaper!

Can you help me find a deal?

I was headed off right from the first line there from suggesting that she simply get a Mac. Isn’t that the most logical solution? Oh, well. I guess I can help you find something else, if you insist on using a PC…. read more…

Got toner?

If you run a home office like I do, or if you just use your printer a lot (read: If your children need to print out every single picture they make in Paint), you know the agony that comes with purchasing toner. That stuff is… not particularly cheap.

Fortunately, it’s HP Week at OfficeDepot.com—among other things, you’ll get a free case of paper with the purchase of either a dual-pack or two individual packs of HP toner. They sell the paper for $47/case, so that should take some of the sting out of toner price, for you.

Try coupon code 47912405 for an additional 10% off your $50+ order, or code 33852405 for $20 off of $75+, too. (And don’t forget about the free next-day shipping on orders of $50+, automatically.)

Because I would never, ever recommend unplugging the printer and then telling the kids that you have no idea why it’s not printing. Nope. Certainly not.

Grocery deals fixed

I posted about this on Saturday, but it seemed that Amazon was having technical difficulties. So! Let’s try it again, now that it looks like it’s actually working:

Right now Amazon is having a big grocery clearance, and when you use coupon code AUGMKDWN with eligible items, you’ll receive an extra 40% off your order.

I’m sorry it was all wonky this weekend when I posted it. I just placed an order, so I’ll vouch that it seems like it’s working now.

They really know how to say “thank you”

Today (Monday, August 18th, 2008) only, Catherines is having a customer appreciation sale—get 40% off regular-price and 30% off clearance-price items, automatically!

You can also use coupon code 776930604 to get free shipping on $75+, too. You know, if you’re needing an extra-special thank you, you diva, you.

Back-to-school = excuse to buy shoes

Do you have shoes coming out your ears, yet? Hopefully not. I find a good way to keep the shoe situation under control is to move to a house with a bigger closet, myself. It cuts down on the urge to limit my shoe shopping.

What?

Anyway, if you’re still needing some shoes, right now at Shoebuy you can take 20% off your total purchase with coupon code SCHOOL2008. If you register as a new user or if you’re an existing customer but haven’t purchases anything in the last two months or so, they’ll give you another 10% off automatically, too.

Because everyone deserves fabulous shoes.

Just keep ’em out of the landfills

Despite our recent discussion about alternatives to plastic bags, I still love Ziplocs for certain things. I can’t help it. And I love the big bags, which are fabulous for a sort of do-it-yourself vacuum bag concept (sit on the bag when sealing—very high-tech) for storage or camping.

As long as I’m still going to buy them, I think I’ll go ahead and print out a coupon to get a box for free the next time I buy a box. I promise to use them only for good!

If only I could plug it into my head

Now that I’m creeping into old age (thanks for all of the birthday wishes, by the way! you’re all very pretty!), my memory is starting to go. It’s very sad. I’ll holler for one of the kids, and by the time they come downstairs, I cannot for the life of me remember why I was calling them.

Unfortunately, I can’t plug this SanDisk 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo into my brain to keep me as sharp as I was back in my early twenties, but on the bright side, I have much better taste in men, now.

Er, I mean, on the bright side, it’s just $19.99 with free shipping and 4 gigs is a lot of… a lot of…

… what were we talking about?

Stay healthy, save money

Now that I’m an aged old lady (haha!), I’m really starting to realize the important of staying healthy. It’s a little more work than it used to be, sure, but it’s better than the alternative, right? So now I do things like take vitamins. And supplements. And pray a lot more.

They can’t help with the praying thing, but over at Puritan’s Pride they’re still doing the 3-for-1 Sale (buy 1 container, get 2 free) on all sorts of nutritional supplements. And today (Monday, August 18th, 2008) only, you can use coupon code TAFF818 to ship your order for free.

Why is shipping free today? I have no idea. Ever hear the expression “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth?” Alrighty, then.
